Tally Tier Submissions (March - April)
Added 2025-03-22 01:00:19 +0000 UTCDue to the growth of Tally Tiers, you can expect all of these submissions to be posted by the end April, or early May, depending on how long the average submission is. The longer the submissions, the fewer we can record each weekend.
1a. You now have the option to submit ONE video that is less than 1 Hour long, OR you may submit multiple videos that total no more than 20 minutes. Meaning you can bundle multiple promos or segments into one submission. Please keep these in ONE comment if you choose to do this.
1b. You may now submit a video that is between 1 and 2 hours, as long as two Tally Tiers "tag team" it, meaning two patrons are using their submission this month on the one video. Do this by having one person comment the submission, and the "tag team patron" replying to that comment indicating they are "tag teaming" it.
2. If your submission has long entrances or pre match packages that are not important for enjoying the match, please indicate that in your comment. Any time we can skip the 5-10 min recaps, or entrances, or both, is helpful. Consider giving us the important info in your comments so that we can read it on camera, and skip to the match.
3. Be sure to check the watch along collection to avoid suggesting anything we've already done. Please include a YouTube link whenever possible.
4. Comments will be disabled on this post on 4/15. That will be that last chance to submit something for this period.
5. Remember that you can send matches, promos, segments, documentaries, or anything else related to wrestling as long as it fits the time requirements.

Only back story i have is Kawada & Misawa were high school friends who both decided to pursue professional wrestling together but after many years of being tag partners they eventually became bitter rivals because of differing ambitions, they had a couple singles matches before this but this match is what a lot of people consider their best match. So For context, you guys watched the two 2009 elimination chamber matches which happened two months before Backlash where Edge lost the WWE championship in the first chamber match before attacking Kofi later in the night and stealing his spot to win the World Heavyweight championship from John Cena. This led to the Wrestlemania 25 match a month after the elimination chamber that you guys watched last month where Cena lifted Edge and The Big Show on his shoulders at the same time to win the World Heavyweight Championship back from Edge and that led to this Last Man Standing Match between Cena and Edge to blow off their feud.

I thought the trilogy of matches he and Ted DiBiasie Jr. had with DX was quite fun. The first one was in Summerslam 2009 (1:45:50). The backstory of this match is that Eddie and Rey are Smackdown’s Tag Champions and don’t have a match for the event, so they decide to just face each other for the funsies. But little does Rey know, Eddie has slowly become more frustrated at the fact that he seemingly cannot ever beat Rey or 1-up him. Maybe he finally can at Wrestlemania. Enjoy the ride👏🏾

My first suggestion is Mankind VS the Undertaker from King of the Ring 1998, timestamp, 1:46:46. I realize that this match is super famous, so there is a good chance that Tally has seen the match already, or at the very least has seen every significant spot from it, but if that’s not the case, that’s what I want, so sorry for the violence in advance. Here is a few videos of a wrestler you see a little of today but is way cooler and tougher than you may know Katsuyori Shibata. He’s is currently in AEW but during his multiple runs in New Japan/Kickboxing is where he made a name for himself as a no nonsense hard nose wrestler his nickname is literally The Wrestler. In 2017 after a match with Okada for the Title Shibata collapsed backstage and was rushed to a hospital, where it was discovered that he had a subdural hematoma, which required emergency surgery. It was thought he’d never wrestle again but here you can see how much he means to the NJPW fans as he makes an unadvertised return for the first time since his injury here. I would like to add Hirooki Goto has won almost every tournament there is in NJPW The G1, New Japan Cup (Second to G1 but still a very big deal with an even better trophy) and World Tag league (Tag Team G1). He’s fought many times for the title but couldn’t get job done against some of the best in New Japan history but as drywall said since 2024 he’s been on a run and now faces one of the best wrestlers in the world ZSJ who himself just won the title recently for the first time just as Goto is trying to do.

This was Sting’s FIRST EVER match in WWE. If you guys remember from that final episode, most of the WCW wrestlers went over to WWE at some point within a few years of the end of The War. Sting did not. He went to TNA, and most fans thought he’d never go to WWE. Josh, you saw his surprise debut at Survivor Series 2014 wayyyyyy back in the early months of Patreon. He debuted at the end of Team Cena vs Team Authority to help Team Cena get the dub. It was a huge moment for wrestling. This is his first official match in the company. Phenomenal video package, and entrances as well. Enjoy!

This is match 9 of a 12 match card. There are 2 title matches on the card, this is one of them. There were no woman's matches on the card. Show was held at the Pontiac Silverdome. The other thing about Wrestlemania 3 is they used an electronic cart to get the wrestlers to the ring. Probably because Andre would have difficulty making the walk but everyone used the cart.

He was out of action for about 4 years, returning in 2022. New Japan didn't trust that he had ever fully recovered, so they never let him wrestle his old style, because it primarily consisted of getting his head kicked in, so in 2023 he quit NJPW and went to AEW.

A Tag Team Epic featuring what might be the four most over wrestlers in Japan, if not the four greatest to ever live. If you'll recall the Six-Man Tag that I recommended a few months back, Misawa, Kobashi, and Kawada were the babyfaces, with Taue having betrayed them and become a heel. Now we're two years removed from Kawada's heel turn and ensuing friendship with Taue. Going into this match, Misawa and Kobashi are the Tag Champions. Misawa is also the reigning AJPW Triple Crown Champion. Kawada is largely the tying thread here, feuding with both Misawa and Kobashi. He's never pinned Misawa and has been in his shadow since they were in highschool; Kobashi can never seem to get the win over Kawada when it matters. Taue is a brutal, monster heel that's still mad he lost to Misawa in the finals of the Champion Carvial tournament the month before. Right now, Kobashi has a thigh injury and Misawa has a fractured left orbital bone, while Taue is dealing with some residual injuries from his prior Pro Sumo Career that will nag at him for the rest of his life. The long and short is that everyone's overworked and beat up. Just to mitigate some confusion, the AJPW World Tag Team Championship is made up of two sets of belts to symbolize the PWF and NWA titles that were unified to form them. Please watch the promo package of what transpired leading up to this match and how it came to be so that you have the added context for the match. Unfortunate timing for Becky to be injured considering she just had her defining moment and turning point of her career where she went from being popular after turning heel on charlotte the August prior to launching into the stratosphere in terms of popularity. This is one of my favorite matches of all time due to how aggressive and realistic the action is. Those ladies left everything in the ring. For these 2 to have the match they did despite short notice shows that even as a rookie Ronda took so naturally to pro wrestling and Charlotte is an absolute ring general to pull a match like this out of someone so new to the sport. This was the first time these women ever faced off.

Alright in our previous installment we saw Okada thwart the threat of Omega and solidify his spot as Ace... however following this match a bit of unforseen circumstances start to place as Omega is the one receiving love and appreciation for nearly beating Okada and proving his worth, fans even going as far as to say Omega could've beaten Okada if he had just gotten the One-Winged Angel to connect and work. This starts to feed into the ego and ire of Okada who personally gives Omega another opportunity to prove that he is not better and to put these suggestions of fluke victories and questioning of his ability to rest. Omega however, was in a rough spot following this loss to Okada as it is extremely difficult to pull yourself back up the card in New Japan to get another shot, he personally feels like a failure and then Okada grants him another shot free of charge, this is a desperate situation for Omega there is no guarantee he gets another shot in the future let alone an opportunity of redemption like this, he has to prove this wasn't a handout title shot and that he CAN beat Okada or what was the point. For both it's a desperate bid to prove their superiority and who can put this festering in their minds to rest for good. Alrighty so I have a Tag Team Partner for this submission! That is why I’d thought I’d send an older New Japan match for this batch of submissions. Shinya Hashimoto (in the black & red pants) was synonymous with the IWGP title, holding the title here and having the record for the longest reign with the belt until Okada broke it in 2017. His finishers are a jumping DDT and a Brainbuster. Masahiro Chono (in the white & blue tights) was known as Mr. G1 for winning the G1 Climax tournament 5 times in his career. His finisher is the STF Keiji Muto (in the red trunks) is probably the most well-known of the bunch, being inducted in the WWE hall of fame last year as his alter ego, The Great Muta. His finisher at the time was a moonsault. These three were dubbed as the 3 Musketeers as they were the biggest young stars in New Japan at the time. Hiroshi Hase (in the yellow and blue trunks) , although not reaching the heights in terms of accomplishments compared to the rest, was an important fixture of New Japan throughout the 90s.His finisher is the Urinage This match was to decide who would be in the finals of the Super Grade Tag League Finals. (This version of the broadcast has the first 5 or so of the match cut out, but nothing significant is skipped over.)

After his father passed away in February 2024, Goto would go on a tear through New Japan attempting to get one last shot at the world championship. This match, almost a year to the day his father passed could possibly be his final shot at a World title.
