This channel is great for summaries of old storylines I never got to experience. I love how babyface staff in this era show so much decorum, making it feel immersive and believable, despite the absurd ongoings of the this supposedly real sports league. 😂 That's partially how Austin managed to get so over, because he had more earnestly defended norms to break. And Bret basically percectly represents that expected decorum, so he's the perfect rival for Austin. You can see in the build that Bret constantly snarkily complains about rules being broken. The backstage interview format is also really charming and fast paced due to limited TV time.

Stone could really was the heel especially leading into survivor series which Bret won in a singles match. Bret actually won the rumble , undertaker causing Bret to lose at the end of this video, bret losing his head at the end lol. Vince even siding with Lawler saying Bret is whining. All with stone cold gaining popularity over time. Great storytelling leading into the wrestlemania match

If you guys are gonna end up watching that Bret/Austin match, it is considered one of the greatest matches of all time. The double turn is executed perfectly. Bret structures it but Austin calls it live in the ring. Wrestling today is a lot more choreographed. Thank you for this reaction. Took me back to the days I first got into wrestling.

2025-03-19 20:00:27 +0000 UTCOne of my favourite lines from a promo “if you put the letter S in front of hitman you have my exact opinion on Bret Hart.” Also Bret leaning outside the steel cage shouting at Vince on the mic. “Everybody in that locker rooms knows I’m the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be!” As someone who was born after this I’ve always found Bret to be a bit bland. However during the pandemic I went back and watch the Raws during this time and this heel run from Bret is so much better from the new generation era of Bret.

Cool to see how WWF changed throughout the year specifically the stage from the “new generation era” to the classic attitude era stage!!
