It's a matter of opinion, of course. Pat's cool. He's like the fan voice. But Taz breaks down moves and the match technically. I learn something while being entertained because he's also hilarious.

2025-03-14 15:07:26 +0000 UTCI used to think that, but I think him and Pat are better, because not only is Pat super unique in his own right, he brings the best out of Michael, you can tell that they are actual amazing friends.

2025-03-14 06:46:42 +0000 UTCGlad you guys enjoyed revisiting! Goldberg and Lesnar had a feud brewing at this time, and Brock got Goldberg elimintaed at the royal rumble, this was Goldberg getting his payback, which led to their first (awful) match at WM20. That's why the crowd was chanting for him before he interfered. Eddie was my all time fav. After he passed, I drifted away from wrestling for a long time. There were a lot of reasons for my hiatus, and heartbreak was among them. Legitimately cried watching his tribute show. As a young latino, seeing him become the first Mexican American WWE champion was a huge moment for me. All the champions tended to look like Lesnar. This match will always be special for me.

2025-03-12 22:11:33 +0000 UTCMy litte heart was BROKEN when Eddie passed. 20 years ago I was 9 years old and I still remember the day in detail. RIP to the GOAT man!!!

2025-03-12 19:45:44 +0000 UTCGuys like Eddie were told they'd never be champion. Too small, came from WCW, can't cut a promo. He proved them all wrong and we stood by him. Not too long after this, he passed away. The Benoit massacre also happened and then I became a casual WWE fan. The wrestlers of today that Eddie inspired brought me back to wrestling again. Back in those days, the rosters were so big that each brand had their own respective PPV shows outside the big 4 (Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series). In my opinion, Smackdown had the better talent. Michael Cole's best broadcast partner was also Taz.

2025-03-12 19:25:17 +0000 UTCThe promo at the start brings tears every time.

2025-03-12 18:44:36 +0000 UTCIt's a damn shame Eddie only lived about 20 months more after this He was just so good and had years ahead of him Passionate Fire And spirit All wrapped into one

2025-03-12 17:45:01 +0000 UTCYeah, they had another feud that was much better received during Brock's second WWE run. At Mania 20, everyone in the crowd knew that they were both leaving and it was in New York, so they were very vocal about it.

2025-03-12 17:27:07 +0000 UTCOhh ok. I could've sworn we watched one of them make a big return during the other's match at one point. Was that when Brock returned way later or was that something else?

2025-03-12 17:25:38 +0000 UTCI was so impressed by him in this match. Like you can tell Eddie is really strong, but Brock is still a big dude!

2025-03-12 17:17:32 +0000 UTCEddie great heel but obviously better as a face!!! ๐๐๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฏ
Phillyman!!
2025-03-12 17:17:20 +0000 UTCWell, his entire first WWE run was only 2 years. He debuted the Raw after WrestleMania 18 and left after a match with Goldberg at WrestleMania 20 (which is related to Goldberg's interference here).

2025-03-12 17:16:18 +0000 UTCDamn didn't realize (or I forgot) how big of a gap there was between his WWE runs
Tallywags
2025-03-12 17:14:52 +0000 UTCYou'll see his first title defense (at WrestleMania 20) before Mania 41.

2025-03-12 17:13:40 +0000 UTCThat's Earl's son?? Ok I can't be as harsh ๐ but true, he was consistent. I'll give him that.

2025-03-12 17:11:21 +0000 UTCOh so not that far off! That moment was scary!

2025-03-12 17:10:13 +0000 UTCYea I haven't really seen much of him! If we're able to get more Eddie, I'll be looking forward to it! I keep hearing that I would really like him lol

2025-03-12 17:09:40 +0000 UTCI loved this match so much growing up. Eddie Guerrero was one of my top five favorites along with HBK, Cena, Undertaker, and Triple H.

2025-03-12 17:00:14 +0000 UTCI hadn't realized how much of the Eddie stuff that has been on this Patreon was before you joined in. Definitely going to need to change that, and I already had an Eddie match picked out for the next Tally tier submission window.

2025-03-12 16:58:42 +0000 UTCThat last part is so funny lol. Brock only stayed in wwe for two years from 2002-2004, leaving behind a legacy of three world title runs and the greatest rookie year ever, yet Roman's title reign was four years long. Kind of funny to think about.

2025-03-12 16:58:13 +0000 UTCBrock in trunks is all one era. He was only on the main roster from March 2002 to March 2004, before returning in 2012. After his UFC run and 2012 return Brock would only ever wear his shorts. For comparison, his initial WWE run was 589 days shorter than Roman Reignsโ Univeral Championship reign.
RF
2025-03-12 16:56:01 +0000 UTCThe ref in this is Brian Hebner, the son of Earl Hebner. At least he's consistently fast rather than being fast some times and slow others. From a kayfabe perspective, if a wrestler knows the ref assigned to their match tends to count fast, they can prepare appropriately.
Adam Nelson
2025-03-12 16:43:30 +0000 UTCAs promised, I'm in the comments since I couldn't say much during the recording. ๐ one thing I didn't mention is I think I've seen clips of Eddie's promo here about being addicted to the high he gets when he goes out to the ring. I loved that. ๐

2025-03-12 16:25:33 +0000 UTCThis was a month away from being a year when Brock did that shooting star press at WrestleMania 19 in 2003
