Kenny Omega vs Haruka

Personnal opinion: having a problem about comedy wrestling or whoever wins a match is completely stupid. My problem with this match is that, for me, a 9 year old kid shouldn't be put in a position where she's risking injuries, even if Omega is a real pro and did everything he could to be safe. For me, Omega shouldn't have accepted to do this, and above all, no company should accept to train children that young and put them in the ring in front of an audience

It's also not just comedy. If a young kid wants to be a wrestler, what better way to get experience than yo spar with one of the best in the world for a couple minutes. Also no better way to build a kid's confidence than give them a safe way to perform in front of a crowd who boo'd and cheered the same way they would for Kenny v Okada lmao

I never got people who are aggressively angry at the sight of this kinda comedy stuff. Comedy wrestling has existed since FOREVER. Would I not enjoy wrestling if it became entrenched into every single match in every single promotion? Sure, but it's not. I enjoy it when it's a novelty, especially if the comedy is done in an earnest way and not "look guys we're breaking the 4th wall", which kinda has dated 2010s vibes in all forms of media. Like, what makes matches like the invisible man funny to me is that they earnestly try.

.

Absolutely. Cornette’s view of wrestlers is EXTREMELY hot and cold. He dislikes Ethan Page forever over one green screen match and favors Ospreay over Omega simply because Ospreay never had a "you're dead to me" moment. That’s why his feud with Russo is so one-sided. Russo just dislikes him, but Cornette *hates* Russo.

.

This is cornettes view, not mine: He sees these types of matches as an insult to wrestlers who try to preserve the legacy of the wrestlers he used to work with. So in part, he takes it personally because he remembers them going through troubles to protect kayfabe etc. He thinks comedy matches of this type ridicules that legacy and makes it more difficult for normal modern wrestling to be profitable and to be respected by a mainstream audience. He thinks it encourages people to look at wrestling as something to laugh at.

.

Dude we're not doing this he absolutely does not and you're not gonna tell me otherwise it's basic Human decency😂

Paul Watson

Yes he does.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Yep think I’ll pass on this.

Yeah I feel like that guy in the second video had some kinda agenda. Regardless, that match was definitely entertaining even if it did cause a rift in the wrestling world

I’m not really a fan of Omega, come on, it’s funny. And the whole “predator” thing was so cringe. Also, getting upset about things like this, Yoshihiko, or the Invisible Man is dumb because everyone knows it’s fake, and the only people who are seeking that stuff out are people who are in on the joke. Little Timmy who still believes that the Undertaker is an actual undead wizard isn’t going to find this.

Ryan Redd

Usually they're from an era where kayfabe was taken more seriously and feel like things like this damage the "credibility of the sport".

Adam Nelson

I can understand why they might not personally like it. But I can not fathom why either of those examples would make a person upset.

Kenny absolutely does not deserve hate for any of this(especially by cornette who has also made silly ideas so like???) Kenny protected that little girl to extreme limits in that match that should show his care for not only the match but his opponent lol Also Haruka retiring really is a shame she clearly had something amazing in her and she'd be in her 20s now killing it right now if she hadn't retired

Paul Watson

this match and the invisible man i believe is 99.9% of the reason jim cornette hates omega

Rick D

I can understand why people like Cornette get upset about "matches" like this and Invisible Man vs Invisible Stan, but I feel like they do have value as an occasional exhibitions.
