Comments

Flair was one of my favorite but it's so hard to enjoy it now after knowing what really happened at Plane Ride From Hell

Ankit Sharma

And of course, Kurt Angle's version with Sheri.

Adam Nelson

Wow... This got me super emotional. I watched this back in the day with my dad and his buddies at a watch party and all of those old guys were super emotional as they had watched Ric for a large part of his career. My dad was not an emotional man and I think I only saw him cry three times in his whole life and this match was one of them. Here I am looking back at those memories. Thank you guys!

Chilly_Gamerboy

There's also a satanic version that has Vince on vocals

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Charlotte's real name is Ashley Fliehr. She definitely chose Charlotte as her ring name from Charlotte, NC, where she was born.

Christopher

Shawn Michaels does sing his theme song, however, I believe the main version he used in his career has Jimmy Hart doing the female vocals. The one he used back in the day had Sensational Sherri as the female vocals, but this one here is Jimmy Hart as the female vocals lol

Christopher

Sure, and I've got a bridge for sale if you're interested. ;)

Adam Nelson

Shawn legit cracked his ribs when he hit the announce table.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Just look at Jerry Lawler, even after his heart attack in 2012 he kept wrestling and only retired in 2023.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Would u say it flair best or the vader match I say vader match bit more it defo his best wwe match his steamboat matches were great aswell and his I quit match with Terry funk all them matches were in 89 88 to 89 he was one of the best in the world then

Ryan Evans

Explains why you. Brought it to my attention

Dport

I felt bad but it was too funny 🤣

Dport

Totally forgot about that actually. Thank you.

Flynn Vicci

This was such a good match. They both left it all on the line, gave everything they had, and did a great job of honoring Ric's career.

Drew Or Die

Cheating was just Rics thing not a babyface/heel thing, kinda like how Eddie would cheat and everyone would love him for it. His moniker was 'the dirtiest player in the game' so he would always cheat wherever possible

MJ

'Rick you old fuck catch me' 🤣🤣🤣 That made me laugh so much, poor Shawn had 2 brutal landings in the space of 5 minutes!

MJ

This is one of my favorite matches of all time.

prototype27

Great match at the time I wasant the biggest flair fan but this match I loved yh that made lot of people emotional when he said sorry I love u that one of the best mania matches ever

Ryan Evans

Ahh damn the retirement promo got cut off after Flair said "I will never retire." It keeps going for a bit longer. I started tearing up after the Wooo at the start. The song is Leave the Memories Alone by Fuel.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Now now, Robbie McAllister didn't get fired for appearing on TNA, he got fired several months later. He just got used even less than he already was.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

He also wrestled in 2009 on Hulk Hogan's "Hulkamania Tour" around Australia. Umaga was also on that tour and it was some of the last matches he had before he passed away.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Tonga Loa catching strays from Tally there at the end. Don't disrespect our Botchy Chief Tally!! ☝☝☝

Josh Tiley

This is going to sound dark, but so many wrestlers would rather die or wrestle til they physically cant wrestle anymore than officially retire. I could 100% see a 60 year old Seth Rollins still wrestling if he's able to stand on his own by that age.

SwantonAtomBomb

The dude could wrestle a diaper to a five star match.

Flynn Vicci

Shawn Michaels had a five star match with a 61 year old Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 22, and looking at that wrestlemania card, it might very well be the best match on the card. Crazy to think he possibly had the best match on the card in Wrestlemania from 1994-1996, 1998, 2003-2010, (he didn't compete in 1997 and retired after 1998 before returning in the summer of 2002), that's 12 straight wrestlemanias he competed in and had the best match on the card before retiring in 2010. Greatest Wrestlemania performer ever.

Flynn Vicci

Well, you're gonna have to deal with this feeling this year once again when Cena retires, and not to worry you too much but Orton, Punk, and Styles are all in their mid-forties as well.

Flynn Vicci

I know. I expect to see the man come back to the ring in 2031 at the age of 82 and nearly kill himself again. He was already pushing it in 2006 when he was 57 by that point and this match when he was 59 already. Then the guy comes back and wrestles at age 61 and 62 for two years in TNA which was beyond pushing it, so he decides you know what. Not good enough. Let me wrestle at age 74. Like when's enough enough man?

Flynn Vicci

I genuinely think Ric wants to die in the ring.

Adam Nelson

This was the last time he ever wrestled in WWE, but he did debut in tna a couple of years later and wrestle 14 matches in tna 2010-2011 and then he wrestled in 2022 at the age of 74 in an nwa event called "the last match of Ric Flair" and literally had a heart attack in the middle of the ring. Don't wrestle at 74 man. It's not worth it.

Flynn Vicci

The entrance stage was designed to look a bit like a cruise ship. This was a hell of a weekend for wrestling in Orlando. Just to give you an idea: Thursday - Live TNA Impact from Universal Orlando (their usual soundstage, but they usually recorded ahead of time for everything except PPVs). A WWE wrestler was shown in the crowd and got fired for it. Friday - ROH Dragon Gate Challenge II (the first ROH show in Florida) Saturday - ROH Supercard of Honor III and WWE Hall of Fame ceremony Sunday - WrestleMania 24 Monday - Raw The ROH shows included the following wrestlers (among others): Nigel McGuinness, Jay & Mark Briscoe, Kevin Steen & El Generico, Tyler Black (Seth Rollins), and Roderick Strong This was the first WrestleMania in Orlando after I moved down here, so I told my dad that if he bought his plane tickets, I'd cover the wrestling tickets. He arrived Thursday night and flew out Tuesday morning, so we only went to the ROH shows and WrestleMania itself, but still really fun.

Adam Nelson

So many elements made this perfect. Jim Ross on the call was paramount and Little Naitch as the ref (WCW history with Flair) was a nice touch. I don't believe they would've gotten the drama they got without those two external factors. To be fair, Ric never wanted to retire (even though it was probably time). But Vince wanted to sell a special match for mania. His way of saying "you're done old timer".

City and Local

I got my suggestion for next time but that raw after WM segment is a must suggestion 💯🔥

Phillyman!!

Unfortunately in TNA he was wrestling a lot. Then 2 or 3 years ago there was a ppv that was called Ric Flairs final match. Lol so yea wasted this match and the segment on raw after WM 💯🤦‍♂️

Phillyman!!

Shawn is a miracle worker, it should never have been as good as it was but he pulled it off through sheer force of talent And ofc Flair puts in a phenomenal performance, old yeller swinging with everything left and just not having enough left Phenomenal
