You should definitely react to the second part

JaSheesh 2K

How big is Batistas dick was such a meme back in the day, I have no idea why, and it didn't die for years lol. Randomly confused when browsing wrestling forums for years

Diruroru

Mahmood Al Mardi, thanks for this. Can't wait for the second hour next month.

Flynn Vicci

Now for the record you have seen that Punk/Taker match And for the record Punk is the most bitter mfer in the world by that point And this he puts in the biggest "fuck you motherfuckers" performance I've ever seen with a slowing down Taker and it's still so awesome So yeah he should've got paid that main event Monday lol

Paul Watson

The second hour is definitely worthwhile!

Kam

I think the second half is worth listening to, but as far as answering your Cody questions, I can help with that. Yes it was absolutely true that the Rock was supposed to take his place, that much has come out and can be verified. The original plan was that the Bloodline was supposed to injure Cody in a major angle that would explain why the hottest guy in the company wouldn’t be going for the biggest belt in the main event of wrestlemania against the biggest bad guy at the time, then, threw some admittedly clever backstage maneuvering by certain parties who thought that Cody did definitely deserve the shot, given he had been carrying the company for the better part of a year at that point, and was obviously the biggest full-time draw by a wide margin, and since he was the hottest face the company had had since John Cena chose to go part time, and I say this next part as a John Cena fan, but also since Cody was universally loved by the fans, and that was something that not even John Cena could boast, that Cody should definitely be in the main event, they did the whole thing where he gave away his spot, and even though the fan backlash was totally organic, certain people backstage did have an idea that the fans would react that way, and so let’s just say that some of them weren’t exactly upset at the backlash, but as a Cody Rhodes stand through and through, I’m just happy it all worked out. at one point, there was even an idea of having the Rock end Roman’s title rain, no pun intended, or even if Roman won, there was an idea that Cody would come back later as the Rumble winner from the initial injury plan and claim he deserved a shot based on the fact he never received one, there was another idea that Cody could wrestle Seth for the other belt, but yes, the main event spot of night one was supposed to be Seth VS Punk. Hopefully that answers all of y’all‘s questions.

Lol believe what you want to believe. I don't know what I would possibly have to gain by making something like that up

Drew Or Die

I'm pretty sure Cody himself has said he and Tony had significant creative differences.

.

In case you don't watch the second hour, what I remember from that one is Punk famously complaining about how management constantly nagged him about how he had to make sure Roman "looked strong". That is largely what made a large part of the audience who had Super Cena ptsd start to turn on Roman. And Roman just became seen as the corporate pick. Whereas guy like Rollins and Ambrose were seen as more organic since Punk picked them.

.

Yh that true i also heard doctors recommended him to retire and orton went against it I heard him doing the Rko every night for 20 years put issues on his back Im glad he’s came back

Ryan Evans

Randy orton also came out about how they never got breaks under Vince. He said once his back started getting worse and he asked for time off Vince would just never budge saying they needed him. Came to his back getting so bad that it risked his career and he didn’t know if he’d return to get extended time off.

Jayshawn Robinson

Yeah you made that up

Phil

Punk’s actually already kind of done the interview where he explains the circumstances that lead to his return. He did an interview with Ariel Helwani about a year ago where he discusses that and the events that lead to him getting fired by aew. I do recommend you finish this interview and even watch that as the follow up at some point

David

Dw I’ll recommend the rest next tally post

Mahmood Al Mardi

AEW will definitely have some stuff coming out like this in 5-10 years. We know for sure Cody and either the Young Bucks and/or Tony Khan had a falling out. We just don't know the details because they can't legally talk about it for an undisclosed amount of time. From the little we do know, it sounds like Cody had one vision for what AEW should be, and Tony had another. The Bucks and Kenny agreed with Tony, and the relationships soured from there.

Drew Or Die

Both Punk and Triple H have said that they had a huge conversation a few days before Punk returned where they smoothed things over. And Punk seems pretty happy right now so things have definitely changed.

Ryan Redd

Oh WWE is absolutely different now that Vince is gone. Both on TV and behind the scenes. That’s why Punk came back. Watch any interview or podcast with wrestlers who were there since the 2000s or longer and they all say the same thing about the freedom they experience now and the fun they have now.

Gai Valentine

Noooooo!!! You missed all the story of his quitting, you were right on the cusp of the best portion. Be great to finish it off hopefully 🙏

Michael Harrop

Colt: "I'm on Team Punk forever" 💀 If only he knew 😂
