Southpaw is near and dear to my heart, it came out while I was in college and getting back into wrestling and dragging my new friends down into the hole with me. This got a good laugh out of them and grew a big appreciation for the cast involved. 2025-01-29 20:05:12 +0000 UTCThe whole premise for this show comes from Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows' podcast Talk n' Shop. They do a lot of impressions on the show but they also created a few characters that were parodies of territories era wrestlers. Karl's was Chad 2 Badd, and Gallows' was Sex Ferguson. After they got released in 2020 they actually ran a couple of indie shows of their own called Talk n Shop-a-mania where they wrestled using the Chad 2 Badd and Sex Ferguson gimmicks.

Tex Ferguson and Chad 2 Badd were the OC, Tally was correct. The Banker was Tyler Breeze. The surf dudes were the ascension. Pelvis Wesley was Heath Slater. Chet Chetterfield was Fandango. John Johnson was TJP. I’m not sure who La Barba Grande was or the sea monster. I’m not sure who the referee was either. If someone knows maybe they can answer that. Most the wrestlers in these skits aren’t in wwe anymore

I really like the manager bringing in the unknown monster because that’s what they would do. Thats how Kamala debuted in Mid South. Skandor Akbar a manager said he went to Uganda and brought back somebody. They then played this package on TV of Kamala walking around in the wilderness and talking about Uganda. It was actually filmed in Jerry Jarrett’s backyard 😂 But that’s how they would get over certain heels. Not every person from another country was debuted like that, most people let’s say you were a Russian if there was someone older who already had a Russian gimmick, they could bring you in as like their cousin or relative. Thats how Nikita Koloff became the Russian Nightmare was he linked up with Ivan Koloff, a famous Russian heel, and he traveled with him and learned how to do the gimmick.
