2025-01-06 19:36:04 +0000 UTCIf you're curious, the Young Bucks coming out at the end and giving Hangman a nod of approval is a call back to when the story first started - when Hangman was annoyed that Young Bucks didn't accompany him when he faced Jericho to crown the first AEW champion. There was also a part in the middle where Hangman (under the influence of FTR) cost Young Bucks a title match by holding onto one of their legs while attempting a springboard. Nick Jackson had the chance to do that here but instead chose not to interfere. Love when they include subtle little nods that can easily go unnoticed but are there if you're enough of a nerd to be looking out for them 🤣

For a lot of us, New Japan is the core standard of our fandom and what many fall back to as the peak of pro wrestling presentation when generational performers like Kenny Omega step in there. 2025-01-05 18:30:48 +0000 UTCReally the only thing that you’ve missed from this Hangman to current Hangman is his title run. It was respectable, not as good as Kenny’s but still alright. Then the whole thing with Punk happened and Hangman lost the world title to Punk. The thing that triggered him to snap was when Swerve broke into his house. Swerve somehow turned face after that and Hangman couldn’t stand that the people that once loved him so much, cheer on the man who broke into his house and threatened his baby. Which would then lead into the Texas Death Match
