2024-12-02 01:11:42 +0000 UTCI noticed you said that you’d be shocked if cena could get undertaker up for his finisher. Thought u might find it interesting to know that at one of the mid 00’s Mania’s, he had big show and edge on his shoulders simultaneously for it

2024-12-02 01:11:05 +0000 UTCCena basically had 4 phases. Rapper Cena, Marine Cena, Super Cena and Veteran Cena. My favorites are Marine Cena and his transition from rapper to marine where he basically had the rapper aesthetic, but didn't cut all his promos like that. Both kids and adults thought he was cool at that point, and he would have very exciting physical matches and bleed etc. Veteran Cena was also cool, because he sort of had an "I'm too old for this shit" attitude and would stop holding back with his promos and would have great matches again

2024-11-27 14:13:09 +0000 UTCThe company is also super hot right now so it would justify both shows getting their own PLEs. Both times they tried it in the past they weren’t hot.

2024-11-27 14:12:04 +0000 UTCThis is a lot just fyi. Yes back in the first brand split they did brand exclusive PPVs, but not right away. Initially every PPV was dual branded with the exception of the UK exclusive shows Insurrextion and Rebellion, the former being the Raw show in May and the latter being the SmackDown show in November. SmackDown also held a show called Global Warning: Melbourne that aired exclusively on PPV here in Australia in August. For some reason it was mid way through 2003 that they decided to start doing brand exclusive PPVs. So Raws first was Bad Blood a month before this. So for in 2003 Raw had Bad Blood, Unforgiven and Armageddon while SmackDown had Vengeance and No Mercy. In 2004 the schedule was this: Raw: Backlash in April, Bad Blood in June, Vengeance in July, Unforgiven in September and Taboo Tuesday in November SmackDown: No Way Out in February, Judgment Day in May, Great American Bash in July (yes two PPVs in July), No Mercy in October and Armageddon in December. That would be more or less what each brand had for their PPVs in the next two years, with Raw getting an extra PPV in January 2005 with the invention of New Years Revolution and the removal of Bad Blood. WWE was not a hot product during this time and the rosters were thin, so there are so diabolically bad shows in there. Great American Bash 2004 is one of those bad shows. They would discontinue brand exclusive PPVs in 2007 following WrestleMania 23, with Backlash being the first tri branded PPV, as ECW was a brand at the time. In 2016 following the reintroduction of the brand split they did brand exclusive PPVs again: SmackDowns first was Backlash on September 11th while Raws first was Clash of Champions two weeks later on September 25th. They did initially start off doing two PPVs a month but slowed their roll and started alternating months. Again the company was not very hot and while the rosters were better, good lord there were some bad or pointless matches on PPVs in that time. Anyone remember Cesaro vs Jinder Mahal at Fastlane 2017? Thought not. They wisely abandoned the concept of brand exclusive PPVs, again after WrestleMania, with Backlash 2018 being the first traditional PPV to be dual branded (the first Saudi event Greatest Royal Rumble was I think ten days before Backlash and had talent from both shows.) With how short PLE cards and how loaded the SmackDown before and Raw after PLEs are now they almost could do brand exclusive PLEs again and with how hot the company is, it could probably work this time. Third times the charm hey? Also, one of only two matches Cena and Undertaker ever had together on PPV, with their only other matches being an episode of Raw in 06 with no decisive winner and a couple of tag matches where Cena teamed with Shawn Michaels against Taker and Batista in 07.

2024-11-27 13:56:28 +0000 UTCHe had a really good match with angle I think in no mercy 03 awesome match and what I like about this cena in his matches unlike pg cena his matches dont end in say him getting dominated most the match cena then hits his 3 moves of doom then wins these matches are actually really good back and forth matches with decent false finishes I hope he has 1 more run as rapper cena

2024-11-27 06:06:53 +0000 UTCThe first time I saw Cena was Wrestlemania 19. He came out before the dark match and rapped. Wasn't impressed.

2024-11-27 03:16:25 +0000 UTCThe main problem with the brand exclusive ppvs in 2016-2018 is when WWE did brand exclusive ppvs between 2003-2007, they had rotate tje ppvs a month. For example Raw would get a ppv in September while Smackdown would get a ppv in October. When WWE returned with the brand exclusive ppvs in 2016-2017, they did both brand exclusive ppvs the same month, leading to two ppvs a month

2024-11-27 00:16:38 +0000 UTCWith the 5 match formula for secondary PLEs that Triple H seems to prefer, I could see them going back in the direction of brand-specific PLEs.

2024-11-26 22:57:22 +0000 UTCCena was a heel from late 2002-late 2003. After that, he never went heel again. I think the bike did fail so Undertaker had to walk to the ring. PPVs were brand exclusive for a while after the first draft. Even though the first draft was in 2002, they didn't start doing brand exclusive PPVs until June 2003 at Bad Blood for Raw. (I'm 90% sure) This is the month after that, which is for Smackdown. Raw and Smackdown would take turns with who got a PPV. So basically one month a PPV would be dedicated to Raw and vice versa. This would be the case unless it was one of the Big 4 PPVs (Rumble, Survivor Series, Wrestlemania, & SummerSlam). In that case both show would host. They brought this concept back in 2016 after the draft. It didn't last that long.

2024-11-26 22:46:50 +0000 UTCYou haven't seen any Doctor of Thuganomics Cena so I figured I'd show you one of my favorite early Cena matches.
Nicholas Kramer
2024-11-26 22:44:41 +0000 UTCCena started as a face when he first debut in 2002 but turned heel later that year with this doctor of thuganomics rapper character. He turned face by 2004 and he never turned heel again. If people are referring to him never turning heel they mean 2004-present, when he became the face of the company and dropped the rapper gimmick. Especially post 2005 when most of the adult male audience had started to turn against him. He never made the switch back to a heel ever again; though it would have been interesting to see.

2024-11-26 22:38:22 +0000 UTCCena was heel here and got this gimmick over and they turned him face... then WWE went PG and white meat babyface Super Cena was born
