What I think happened is Russo, Bischoff and Hogan came up with Jarrett lying down for Hogan in private. Because he’s an idiot, Russo told Jarrett that Hogan didn’t want to do the job. So when Jeff lies down for Hogan, he doesn’t know Hogan is in on it. There are stories of Russo setting up fake backstage arguments in order to work the boys, which is just so fucking stupid.

2024-11-07 20:32:48 +0000 UTCThis show really shows you how too many cooks in the kitchen can kill a resturaunt. WCW was good until the behind the scenes stuff got out of whack. Russo was in the WWF before WCW and there was still layers in between him and complete freedom with Vince/other creative people like Pritchard and Cornette working with him. In WCW there was a lot less in terms of putting the reigns on Russo creatively. Even later on in the 2000s in TNA when Russo gets hired there he’s pretty much handed the book and said you make the shows and it’s chaos. Match types and stories that if you saw them written down what they are you’d probably say nah that ain’t happen someone’s messing with me but no it was that bad.

I feel stupider every time I hear him talk. Ugh it’s Dave Meltzer. He’s done a lot of harm to the business as well. I am so sick of seeing his name everywhere. It was either Bischoff who booked Goldbergs streak ending or it was Kevin Nash. Russo didn’t join WCW until October 1999 and the streak ended in December 1998. Nash became a Booker but the exact timeline of when he started is murky. Kevin says he didn’t book it but as much as I like him, Kevin is also a liar. Oh Russo definitely is compensating for something. Aggressive confidence is also worse when the person is, as we’ve established, an idiot. Because stupid people think they’re smart. The irony of Bischoff saying Russo is a bullshitter when Bischoff is also a bullshitter. WCW frequently “blurred” the lines which just put people off the shows which contributed to the companies downfall. Yeah Russo was an onscreen character. He even won the WCW World Title.
