I figured it probably was the case that you guys would talk a bit.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Ive always known Ric to be completely bonkers so these always just make me laugh.

Nate Cruz

When the video isn't 50 min long we get a little more space to discuss. Lol

Dport

“You can choose two promos that are ten minutes.” Video is nearly 40 minutes. Something doesn’t add up lol.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

I personally get entertainment out of the crazyness of the second promo but I totally get why someone would not like it. Enjoyed your extensive discussions this time.

Markus Ruoff

Even when you agree with them 😂 I felt that bro

Woozie

10+ years together and still gonna bicker 😆

Dport

lmfaooooo yall's “argument” like halfway thru had me rolling I feel like I have the same experience with my partner all the time too 😂😂

Ric, whether he is a good guy or a bad guy, when he got older, did like to lean more into seeming unhinged, but pretty much everyone acknowledges, and I do mean everyone, including Ric Flair himself, that the TNA run was a huge mistake. Ric Flair had one of the greatest, you could even argue it was the greatest wrestling retirement of all time in 2008, the only problem was, he didn’t want to retire. I have been watching wrestling for 21 years now, so honestly, considering all I have seen from these two grates, I think both of them are trying to seem like they care about something that neither one of them really seems like they care about. I think that both of them here just come off as two guys who don’t really have any enthusiasm about what they are doing, but they want you to believe that they do, but no amount of screaming and shouting and hitting yourself in the face can convince me that these dudes cared about this back in 2010. I will also say that, Ric Flair didn’t really do the hitting himself thing that often, but Mick Foley was actually pretty well-known for doing that throughout his career

Ian Hernandez

I wish I had some context or info in general to drop about that second promo, but I wasn’t really keeping up with TNA at that time and I just find the whole segment really goofy. Not so much embarrassing since Ric has always been eccentric and over the top. But from the little I have seen of Ric at this time, he was always this crazy in TNA. His promo with Jay Lethal was along the same line.

You nailed the vibes exactly with Flair at the end. Even without much context on him it's pretty clear he shouldn't have still been out there. I like to pretend his career actually ended with his last WWE match. He looks old physically in his 2000s WWE run, but he is still a great pro wrestler in every way. When WWE decided it was time for him to give it up they were right though.

John Cowheel

It is true that essentially all top tier matches foley has had were stipulation matches of some sort. One truly great normal match he had was against Shawn Michaels at in your house 10.

.

Oh wow..

Dport

The way you felt about Ric Flair in that second promo is exactly how I feel watching someone like Chris Jericho today... So I completely understand... Btw Flair was in TNA because WWE basically forced him to retire so there's that lmao😂

Shaun Carpenter

Not to go into specifics of the promo(because I don't remember his character at that point in time), but I'm pretty sure that Ric legitimately wants to die in the ring.

Adam Nelson

Flair was one of the best promos in the 80s and 90s. He was one of the greatest heels ever. He set the blueprint for the rich cocky heel in a suit that is still seen to this day. His promo style was a bit more subdued compared to later, I’d say it was it was in the dying days of wcw that he started relying on these “crazy” promos. Doing elbow drops on his jacket etc. I found it very entertaining but I can see how it might be a bit much to someone who wasn’t watching. I think I was just used to by this point. Tally is also right, he did have a past with alcohol issues and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was drunk in that TNA promo. He did retire from wwe in 2008. He had one of the best retirements ever unfortunately it meant nothing because he later went to TNA because he went through a divorce and needed the money. I also just don’t think he really wanted to give it up, his last match was in 2022.

David

He was either high/drunk or completley insane and idk which is which LMAO

Matthew Harvey

Also I just remembered, Foley hitting hkmself in promos is also nothing new, if you remembered when yku reacted to Foleys "cane dewey promo" he did that. I think he did that more times than flair

Matthew Harvey

I don't know if he did it regularly in promos, but Flair hitting himself in promos is nothing new because i remember he did that during his feud with triple h in 2005 to prove "nothing can kill him", thr difference between that promo and this, is he actually bled alot because his head was bandaged. it's actually a great promo

Matthew Harvey

I don't know if this played a roll in the last promo. But Flair is an alcoholic and well I don't know if he was still doing it at this time, like most wrestlers he did a ton of coke in the 80's. Yes Flair was way past his prime he technically retired a couple years before this and only came out of retirement because he needed money.

Drew Or Die

I feel that says more about Lethal than anything tbh 😭

Paul Watson

And about Flair being on something ...It's very debatable lol Dude was a phenomenal promo in the 80s and 90s tho and the man was in a constant state of high/drunk

Paul Watson

I will say, that Jay Lethal/Ric Flair face to face is hilarious

Matthew Harvey

Don't ever feel bad about disliking something There will always be things in wrestling to be disliked And unfortunately Flair in the last year of his career screams "the body is trying but the mind is done" Foley tried here but even he was confused lol
