Amazing match. I think the crowd chanting "10!" is one of my favorite chants

2024-09-15 02:09:04 +0000 UTCJohnny said In his interview with Chris Van Vliet that the bump he took when doing the flipping senton off the apron to the floor was one of the worst in his career. He also said “something” came out of him when it happened.

2024-09-11 11:53:14 +0000 UTCIt will definitely win a poll or be high up and someone will suggest it for next month. I nearly suggested it this month.

2024-09-11 06:37:02 +0000 UTCThey should have kept Andrade on Raw with the LWO. Andrades English is still pretty broken which was why Zelina was put with him in the first place. She can still wrestle but be his personal manager as well. Would also provide an opportunity to split them off later down the line.

2024-09-11 06:36:01 +0000 UTCSince WrestleMania, Johnny has been doing weekly travel vlogs on YouTube if you want to get a look into how that kind of stuff works. Also, I live in Orlando and saw Johnny and Candice (with baby Quill in a stroller) at Target when I was checking out. Probably wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for Candice's purple hair. Just said "hi" in passing since they were busy.

2024-09-10 23:45:50 +0000 UTCI see that some people have a problem with Johnny and I kinda get it. He’s small. In NXT it wasn’t that obvious but on Smackdown we can all agree that he doesn’t have a physique of a stereotypical main event guy. As his fan I disagree on his lack of facial expression or emotions. He may iritate you with his mimics but from actor’s POV he is doing just fine. His type of selling is literally like he was ran over by a truck, and I get it that some people just don’t like it. That’s kind of the same stuff though that Sami Zayn used to do too so many times when he was booked as the underdog. My observations about Johnny getting lack of appreciation nowadays are: a) They’ve never given him a proper rivalry in the main roster like for example we had Sami vs KO back in 2016 when WWE replicated their NXT feud. b) Johnny’s babyface character is built around being the next “ultimate underdog” like Sami was earlier in NXT and in the roster. It’s impossible to get a sympathy for an underdog guy if he doesn’t get any chance to shine as one. The match we’ve just watched is a perfect example of it. c) Another way to put a babyface over is to get him being treated unfair by his friend/ally like they did with Ciampa here. They never pulled the trigger on any story with Johnny involved in the main roster c) If you want to find something different from Johnny, the perfect example of his great work is his heel run between 2020-2021. “The Way” faction and his character of a delusional father to Austin Theory and Indi Hartwell was absolutely hilarious. “The Way” was one of the pillars of NXT during the pandemic. Johnny can do very well as a comedic heel and he proved during that time that his mic skills are at least decent. d) They made a big mistake while debuting him on Monday Night Raw as a solo performer. By the storyline with The Miz they tried to make Johnny do his comedic heely stuff, but this time as a babyface. It didn’t click with the audience mostly because Gargano was forced to play a “cool guy”. Somebody told him to do it that WAY lol. This comment is way too long 😂 But I had to share my thoughts with you guys. Great reaction from both of you as always! Thank you ♥️

2024-09-10 22:55:44 +0000 UTCAlso about the crowd chanting "10" in 2016 a wrestler named Tye Dillinger (now known as Shawn Spears) had this gimmick in NXT called "The Perfect 10" and I think it got more popular than anybody expected. The chanting 10 during count outs thing started at NXT Takeover Toronto/Survivor Series 2016 which was in Tye's hometown and then it just stuck. It got so popular that WWE ended up having Tye have is main roster debut in the royal rumble 2017 at Number 10

2024-09-10 20:47:49 +0000 UTCAgreed with the sentiments about Vega and Andrade being better as a unit. I thought they were going to get them back together after Wrestlemania 40. If you can remember the build to that they referenced the history between the two. When Andrade sided with Rey and the LWO, Vega and Andrade shared a huge embrace.

2024-09-10 20:25:01 +0000 UTCThe “Too Sweet” chant is what you heard after the ref hits a count of 2, as in 1, 2 SWEEEEEET. It was started by the Kliq, made up of HHH, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman. Then when Hall and Nash went to WCW it was made into the NWO/Wolf Pack hand sign. In the mid 2000s Fin Balor (known at the time as Prince Devitt) started using the hand sign as to pay respects to the groups and when he created Bullet Club, he adopted that as their hand sign.

2024-09-10 20:23:22 +0000 UTCAfter the 2, the crowd said "SWEET!" which is an NWO/Bullet Club thing. Around this time, this is when the Bullet Club was at their peak popularity

2024-09-10 20:20:44 +0000 UTCGargano is gonna have to turn heel or do something to show that he has any real emotions at all. The combined smallness with how he doesn’t really have much expression on his face doesn’t do much for him. Hes just not the kind of wrestler I can get into if your small at least have a personality or something.

2024-09-10 19:53:46 +0000 UTCI hated when the crowd did the 10 thing during countout spots. I was always worried the wrestlers wouldn't be able to hear the ref and would accidentally get themself counted out lol
Charlie
2024-09-10 19:07:39 +0000 UTCHe just doesn’t really have anything I can grab onto. Hopefully when I watch this I’ll get to see what everyone else sees.

2024-09-10 18:23:04 +0000 UTCThe crowd points for this match. The NWO / Bullet Club have a hand signal called “2 Sweet” - this is what the crowd are doing after the 2 counts. 1….2….Sweeeeet. Also at the time a wrestler named Tye Dillinger (Shawn Spears now in NXT after he made his return from AEW) his character was known as “The Perfect 10”. He was super over within NXT and often crowds with every countout spot would chant 10 every count the refs do

2024-09-10 17:36:38 +0000 UTCJohnny's theme song here is one of the biggest loses to def rebel music :( Also they pretty much Sheamus'd him as well in regards of giving him new music, left for a while, came back with this theme and then a couple of weeks later they went back to giving him a different song
Flair
2024-09-10 17:34:13 +0000 UTCJohnny’s theme at this time was “Rebel Heart” by CFO$. I think it’s based off of “The Bomb Dot Com 2.0” by Sleeping with Sirens. I sincerely miss CFO$, they made a lot of great themes.

2024-09-10 17:31:58 +0000 UTCGargano is an everyman figure for the audience to root for. His 'blandness' as you say, allows the audience to better fit into his shoes imo.

2024-09-10 17:24:16 +0000 UTCI just rewatched this match earlier this week plus I was there in person for this man so yea don’t judge me 😂😂😂😂

2024-09-10 17:20:32 +0000 UTCThis is gonna be a interesting match for me. Getting back into wrestling in 2022 I didn’t know Andrade at all but I saw him in AEW and he became one of my favorites. I really like his promos, I like his vibe, his athleticism and the guy managed to get Charlotte Flair if you aren’t applauding that idk😂 Then you got Johnny Gargano. Since getting back into wrestling everyone says this is the new guy everyone loves and you gotta see. I just don’t get it. He doesn’t really have a personality, no real facial expression and he’s just bland. This one’s gonna be fun because I want to like Gargano maybe seeing him wrestle Andrade will change a little something in my mind about him.
