This fella keeps popping up in my feed on instagram and I keep liking it, so he keeps popping up…
Funny how blurred the line is between fitness coach and thirst trap is. Are they pushing an online coaching program, or an only fans page? Does it matter?
His page is entirely in Cyrillic and he lives in Dubai. I get the impression that if I could understand it all there’s surely something that would sour me to him, but ignorance is hairy, sweaty bliss in this case.

Hey there! Welcome to an archive post while I am hammering away in these anthology pieces.
These were commissioned by a publisher I know, who had written a story he wanted to print up with a lot of illustrations in it. He asked me to do these two and I excitedly said yes, and turned them in shortly afterwards. The project went nowhere however, he never spoke of it again (and never paid for the work). It’s been quite a while since and I haven’t worked with him in a decade. Someday p...

I can’t watch this movie without having flashbacks, lol.
My Apple Pencil died and I’m having to work on the set up I used before the switch to iPad, a tablet hooked up to a laptop. It’s funny just how used to the feel of working on an iPad I’ve gotten. The pencil just seems more intuitive and precise than the Wacom/Cyntiq pen/stylus. I will be back on the iPad as soon as I get a replacement pencil. This will be my fourth in 6 years… they seem to last 1-2 years each. The art p...

This is from my 1994 sketchbook. I used to draw and paint cute fellas from tattoo magazines, and that’s where this guy was found. I would end up doing a very similar tattoo about a dozen years later.
Colored pencils.

We’re coming up on the 20th anniversary of Hard to Swallow Comics #1! I won’t be re-issuing it because it’s only partially my material, but I will be marking the occasion somehow.
I’m updating this 9 year old post to include playlists that are on sites that still exist 😝

Hey it’s page one of a new story for our upcoming Star Trek zine. This one though chronicling the films as they came out are not about the films per se, but related anecdotes to the experience of the films, if that makes sense.
Like in the Sadako zine, there will be a glossary of terms, and acronyms used to refer to films and series… Trekkies are familiar with but casual fans may or may not be. This page uses the following:

Otto (Jay Crisfar) from the Bruce LaBruce film Otto; or, Up with Dead People. I imagine once I see the follow up film LA Zombie I might draw Francois Sagat as an mcm as well, lol.
William also did Otto for his MCM, a first for us both doing the same fella.

Hey all, I’m going to be doing a story now for our next zine, which is going to be a Star Trek zine. This story here is going to be about my history with the films, since from before the first one and until the last in 2016, these were events and milestones for me. This is the “title card”, and homages the Bob Peak poster for the first film.
Like I said in last week’s post, I am busy with a couple of stories I can’t post here, and this is something I can keep up with a postin...

Another one from the sketchbooks, acrylic, pencil, multi media. I still have this page of headshots from the queer zine My Comrade, a bunch of rough trade titled “trouble”. It used to live on my refrigerator, when I lived alone, lol. I used different photos on it for reference over the years, and this sketchbook piece is one of then, from 1990 or 91. This particular sketchbook is really trashed on the outside —- our flat burned one night while we were all at work. We had to stay elsewhe...

William started a tradition years ago of drawing the 2 of us as a couple of characters for our anniversary, which is on Halloween. I decided to give it a go myself this year, our 10th anniversary. We’ve watched all the Tron movies/shows recently and discussed thoroughly our love of the 1982 original, so I decided to draw us as characters from that: William as Tron, and myself as Dumont. I love Dumont because he’s the most Moebius looking character in a movie of Moebius designed characters...

Hey all, so the choice of sticker ended up being a color variant. I went with “ be gay, do crimes” on both since that’s on brand for me, but thought that this brown lil kaiju needed some sparkle and pizazz so he got a pink variant… which suits him well.
Please indicate in the comments which you would prefer, or you will receive a random one!

Or part 3, pg.15.
Runewolf? Dark Feral? Stormwolf? Hmmmm.
Happy Halloween, droogies!
This is the final page of part 3, and the final story page for what will be Stray Bullet 3! Loose will soon be concluded with part 4, but before then I am doing a chapter of a book Justin Hall is making, plus a few shorts of my own. I may have another anthology piece in the mix soon, but that isn’t confirmed yet… the anthology is in the planning stages and I submitted a pitch last mont...

James Duval from the movie Donnie Darko. I’ve seen this movie 5 times now, and between the 4th and 5th I had watched Greg Araki’s Teenage Apocalypse trilogy, which stars James Duval. Frank is even somehow more interesting when the actor is some Himbo puppy you are familiar with instead of some rando.
This movie has a journey for me. I first saw the theatrical cut which I liked fine enough, but a friend decided I needed to see the director’s cut and gave me a copy of that. On firs...

Honestly I am happy when a film gets trashed upon release and my expectations are drastically lowered, then I watch it and am pleasantly surprised at how good it actually is. HIM is one of those movies. Doesn’t hurt at all that Tyriq Wirthers is good in the role and extremely easy on the eyes.
Side note: this reminds me of when I did a portrait of an MMA fighter covered in blood, and I had the idea to do a series of art pieces featuring hot men drenched in it. At that time I had a fri...

Hey when’s the last time I posted some design sketches? I’m thinking of doing a finished drawing of the height chart here and using it in issue three. This particular sketch I had to do for my own use… keeping size in mind when drawing a group where your usually hefty character is the literal smallest in the group can be challenging.
As for all of the regular Oni, I started with a drawing I did in 2011 and pretty much distilled its characteristics into the three distinct demons....

Keeping with my horror hottie theme, the dad from the Ju-on/Grudge movies. Definitely the root of the problem in these films, his ghost haunts the Saeki house as well as those of his victims.
One thing I love about Japanese ghosts is how their names are descriptive of their beings, in a way. Takeo in this case is “manly”, and the family name Saeki can mean a lot of things, but in his case I take the meaning of “uncle”. Which makes him Uncle Manly. Hot.

Derek asked for Shou Ronpo, a tokusatsu character from the show Kyurangers. This guy is from a planet where everyone is an anthropomorphic dragon, and is normally portrayed as having a lot more (fancy) clothing on. Judging by Derek’s screenshot file on the guy, he’s a bit of a romantic (hence the rose) and maybe even a Himbo.
Welcome aboard, Derek! Thank you for your patronage.

Sometimes I have to choose between a plot driven preview panel or a sexy one and usually I opt for the sexy one bc y’all are pigs.
I have yet to name this guy. As I said before, he’s based on Enkidu from the Gilgamesh mythology, which I usually remember incorrectly as Enki… so I am thinking Enki.

October man crushes are going to be horror hunks. What else would they be?
—> spoilers for a 23 year old film <—
Spoon is a studly little fireplug of a man in the 2002 film Dog Soldiers, played by Darren Morfitt. This film is one of my favorite werewolf movies. The lycanthropes look pretty good, the story is unique, and it subverts the final girl trope by giving us a final boy in hunky actor Kevin McKidd, whom I nearly chose to draw before I remembered Spoon. I will say ...

One of my favorite dialog exchanges from Re-Animator (1985). As the signature shows, I just did this quickly back in 2016 after maybe the tenth viewing of this movie. During the pandemic I put in on some print on demand items in my Etsy shop and it quickly became one of my best selling items.

FYI, consent is important, and Patreon’s TOS are as well. I’m fine with that, I want to portray a more positive world in my comics… though some stories with roots 10-20 years old (or more) spring forth from domination fantasy.

Here’s a man crush from the archives… a Colt model named Moose. Pen and Ink with acrylic on a sketchbook page, from around 1990-91. I was a bit cagey about letting my classmates peruse my sketchbooks in college because they were littered with thirsty land mines like this, lol.
I might have to do another drawing of Moose, still worthy of a crush.

“Draw you in” character sheet for Mike W.
Big axe you got there, Mike!
The name Sodric is a portmanteau of Cedric and Sodomy! lol. This is a wholly original character (as opposed to a parody of an existing one, such as Hawkmoon) with imput from Mike. He kinda reminds me of my friend Dominic, minus the tattoos and the Pomeranian.
