I’ll agree. A shorter match actually was refreshing. Nigel retired in 2011 with injuries and just came back for a match in AEW with Bryan Danielson! Only a couple of months after this watch along! Perfect.

2024-07-24 22:49:20 +0000 UTCYeah, I figured you'd go back and check. I'll see what other Pure Title matches I can find on Youtube if you want to see more with those stipulations. Most of my Tally tier suggestions are going to be ROH matches from this mid 2000s era since a lot of people who are big names now got their first big breaks there (and my attempts to include those in the polls haven't gone well). It was seen as the third biggest promotion in the US after WWE and TNA. For most of that time, they recorded shows and released them on DVD to sell off their website, though they eventually had PPVs and syndicated TV. Tony Khan bought out ROH a couple years ago and it is sort of a developmental brand for AEW now.

That "nope" walk out of the way is an iconic Samoa Joe spot. You may not have seen a Nigel match before this, but you have heard him. He is a commentator in AEW (and was a commentator in NXT for a while before that). He was Bryan Danielson's biggest rival prior to his WWE run and probably top 3 overall.
