Since nobody said it, I imagine the line in Cody’s song is inspired by this promo! My father said, when I was younger Hard times breed better men

2024-08-31 06:53:51 +0000 UTCThese 2, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & The "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, represented the best outside of the WWF in the 80s. They had a very heated rivalry throughout the 80s. Jim Crockett promotions, the NWA, was where the matches took place... from what I can remember, not using the Google machine., they fought in a few Starrcades (the equilvalent to Wrestlemania) and were always tangled in group warfare. The Great American bash was a U.S. tour held in the summer for many years. And Flair's group, the Four Horsemen (Ole Anderson, Arn Anderson, Lex Luger, and JJ Diillon)...fought against Rhodes' group, a combination of Nikita Koloff and the Road Warriors with Precious Paul Ellering. **You can't make these names up. Also, a guy named Tully Blanchard replaced Ole eventually, I believe.. Oh, the whole purpose of the groups fighting each other was the Wargames match. IDK if you've seen one, or not. But, yes Dusty was the one who invented the concept match, then McManiac.. he took the rights, or something. It's all weird.

2024-07-22 06:50:30 +0000 UTCI remember how Dusty represented the Celtics, and Flair represented the Lakers. There may have been a promo where Dusty said he was Larry Bird or something, antother Everyman. Great times. Incredible rivalry.. RIP Dusty

2024-07-22 06:39:15 +0000 UTCYeah JCP had basically bought out all the southern wrasslin promotions while WWF bought out all the northern sports entertainment promotions and JCP became WCW after Ted Turner bought the company and it was WCW's southern wrasslin going up against WWF's northern sports entertainment and WWF ended up winning and buying them out in 2001.

2024-07-21 17:46:33 +0000 UTCSo, Mid-Atlantic Wrestling was the TV show for the Jim Crockett Promotion, which became WCW in 1988 when it was brough by Jim Turner. The WWF brought WCW in 2001, hence why they own the footages

2024-07-21 10:57:34 +0000 UTCWwe just bought a lot of the tape libraries from other promotions when they went defunct or purchased the libraries years later from whoever owned them. That’s why you see the logo.

2024-07-21 00:53:41 +0000 UTCIt doesn't look like you're getting to a Ric Flair promo this week, but he was presented as a rich partier (in his own words, "the Rolex wearin’, diamond ring wearin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’, limousine ridin’, jet flyin’ son of a gun") while Dusty was more of an everyman (the son of a plumber) and this promo really played up that difference between them.

2024-07-21 00:32:47 +0000 UTCSteve Austin’s promo while he was in Ecw. Talking his release from wcw 💯🔥 must watch

2024-07-21 00:30:44 +0000 UTCYou need to watch the cm punk media scrum. He tears the AEW EVPs a new asshole, then kicks the shit out of the young bucks/kenny omega backstage (you dont see that...unfortunately)...with a torn tricep. I'm all for AEW being a thing but the passive aggressive crap that the young bucks do and just the wink wink nudge nudge all over the shop, it lost me a long time ago.

2024-07-21 00:28:04 +0000 UTCNext time match suggestions are open Ive gotta put in there a legendary Dusty Rhodes match so you can see just how good he was in the ring. I think my Tally Tier one has him on commentary so you’ll be able to hear more of him whenever you get to it.

2024-07-21 00:18:15 +0000 UTCThis is not WWE, but when Vince came into power they bought the rights to many promotions, that is all the logo is showing.

2024-07-21 00:13:21 +0000 UTCThe WWE insignia was placed later on after WWE purchased the rights and library to mid Atlantic/jim Crockett promotions
