Fun fact - Triple H’s “crooked” ref who counted slow was Scott Armstrong, whose slow cadence you also hated during Punk vs Cena MITB.

Ehhhh with the right adrenaline, a mom can lift a car off of her child. But besides, it wouldn’t be the same only hoisting one belt. I remember him yessing with two belts very fondly!

Big Ell

Honestly, I'd argue a lot of babyfaces run into the wall. Faces generally are better on the chase, and heels are generally better with the belts. We never really got a substantial Bryan World Title run in WWE due to injury and other factors, besides a couple not super long, but really entertaining heel runs with him as a top champion. Personally, I've never been a big Cody fan myself, but I see a lot of discourse about his title reign already, which was something I expected, especially when he would be left with the scraps after Roman and the Rock predictably disappeared. Not that Cody isn't doing everything in his power, but wrestling fans, and I feel like this is even more prevalent with WWE fans, love to root for the struggle, and get bored of their heroes when they win the title sooner or later. Luckily for Cody, despite plenty of complaints about his reign, fans aren't turning on him in general as of now. To be fair, people enjoy the WWE product a lot more than in years past, so WWE gets a lot more leeway. Rightfully so as the WWE product has gotten so much better than it was for many years under Vince. Nevertheless, you get the point. Face World Champions, especially in WWE, tend to run into that exact thing you spoke about, that everyone gets behind them on the chase, and often turn on them or get bored of them as champion, often leading to the title run either being seen as unsuccessful or potentially a heel turn to spice it up.

You may have already seen this but if you haven’t seen it already in regards to this match you need to watch a video called Connor the crusher the story of that played a part in the story with Daniel Brian it’s very very sad but I think it’s an important element you should watch if you haven’t already

The Big Gold Belt was also the WCW World Title

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Like Mania 34 in the same building four years later (the Punk chants).

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

He left later in 2014 to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. He was going to come back but i think it was H and Stephanie basically laughed in his face thinking GOTG would be a flop which put him off coming back.

And they held NXT Arrival in March as the trial event before Mania. I remember reading people had issues with their feed for the show.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Well no. Orton had the two belts but they represented a single title. When Roman had both belts and they were still separate despite them calling him Undisputed Universal Champion.

Steamed Ham Champion Dillon Haggett

Best way to check out Planets Champion Bryan is probably him vs Kofi from Mania 35.

Orton has the two belts because he beat Cena in a TLC unification match the previous December. He was WWE Champion and Cena was World Heavyweight Champion. They kept both belts but they represented one title. They’d retire the WHC belt (called Big Gold) later in the year and update the WWE Title to the current design Cody has (but not all gold, mostly black with a red swish). The current WWE logo was introduced with the Network that launched in February but it didn’t become the company’s official logo until August at SummerSlam. Also, the “you set up the table you’re going through it” thing is similar to “Special entrance/live performance means you’re going to lose”. Now it’s not always like that, Rhea won this year at Mania and she had her theme played live, but more often than not it’s true.

DB had one of the best title runs in recent memory when he played an eco-friendly heel. Highly recommend checking out his promos from that time. He is widely considered one of the best wrestlers out there - both on the mic and in the ring. Given everything that was going on at the time, this win felt much bigger than Cody's win at WM 40. Come to think about it, the main event storylines of WM 30 and WM 40 were very similar: crowd favorite underdog going up against the company's hand picked champ, having to run through obstacles put in his way by the management, including overcoming a returning wrestler-turned-Hollywood-star.

You know watching this back it kind of bugs me that his shoulder is magically better after he wins. Never really thought about it in the moment.

Nicholas Kramer

The two titles are basically like when Roman had the two titles(the wwe championship and the the universal championship). Except these two are the wwe championship and the World heavyweight championship. Winner takes all.

I must comment this out since you tell Danial gas is out after he win the champ, it is not. He still very hot in 15, 16. In Royal Rumble 2015, the only few people can cheer for is Daniel Bryan, Vince book to eliminate him early, so people must cheer for Roman Reign. After that he announce retirement because injury hurt me so bad. He return to wrestling several year later. For a guy watch Danial from the start and Yes movement come up, it's not even script in first place, one of the first time Vince actually heard the fan, he buried so many wrestler fan want previously (Christian, Zack Ryder,...) Same for previous generation also, I must watch the Batista face run again Triple H to understand why he such a good babyface, sadly he is an actor at that time, come back and win the Royal Rumble while people love Danial, poor Dave fan.

Tín Phạm

That's very true lol.

The WWE Network was just introduced that month and Mania 30 was the first PPV to be on it. Going from begging my mom to spend $50 every month (which she didn’t do 9/10 times 🤣), to only having to spend $10 a month and get all the PPVs, it was crazy cool at the time.

You should see how big Batista was during his first run in the 2000s. Escpecially early in his WWE Career. This was when batista came back in 2014. He left again in June of 2014 then came back for one more match against Triple H at Wrestlemania 35 in 2019. This Wrestlemania weekend was crazy. You had the whole story with Daniel Bryan, the match with Undertaker earlier in the night, Ultimate Warrior going into the Hall of Fame that Saturday and dying three days later a day after he appeared on Monday Night Raw. I remember I was just about to graduate high school soon during this time and I just got a new laptop. WWE Network was also new too, so this Wrestlemania was the first one to be streamed on WWE Network. So the titles on the line were the WWE title and the World Heavyweight title. The world heavyweight title was the secondary World title. Kinda what Damien Preist has right now. I took a piece from wiki cause I didnt feel like typing all of it. The World Heavyweight Championship was a men's professional wrestling world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It was the second world championship to be created by the company, after their original world title, the WWE Championship (1963). The title was one of two top championships in the company from 2002 to 2006 and from 2010 to 2013, complementing the WWE Championship, and one of three top championships from 2006 to 2010 with the addition of the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Established in September 2002, its creation came as a result of the WWE Undisputed Championship becoming exclusive to the SmackDown brand which left Raw without a world title due to the introduction of the brand split. Raw then created the World Heavyweight Championship and the title was awarded to Triple H. The titles moved between the brands on different occasions (usually as a result of the WWE Draft) until August 29, 2011, when all programming became full roster "supershows". The World Heavyweight Championship was retired at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs on December 15, 2013, when it was unified with the WWE Championship with Randy Orton recognized as the final champion. The title was one of five to be represented by the historic Big Gold Belt, introduced in 1986. Its heritage can be traced back to the first world heavyweight championship, thereby giving the belt a legacy over 100 years old, the oldest in the world. While introduced in 2002 as a new title, the WWE often made allusions to other titles including those of WCW and the NWA, amalgamating the history of the championship with the history of the belt that represents it. As affirmed by WWE, the World Heavyweight Championship is not a continuation of the WCW Championship, but rather its successor by way of the WWE Undisputed Championship, just as the WCW Championship spun off from the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Due to its relation to both titles, its lineage is connected with the earliest recognized world heavyweight championship.[11] In 2009, WWE released a DVD set called History of the World Heavyweight Championship that definitively linked the title to the WCW and NWA titles.

I know you said you still don’t know much about Bryan, but regarding him as champion I’m gonna respectfully disagree. So Daniel Bryan did not always have the “yes” gimmick, earlier in his WWE run he was a charismatic young great professional wrestler that got over with the crowd. To me and many others Bryan Danielson is one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. He had GREAT runs on the Indie more notably Ring of Honor. He was the American Dragon and his opponents knew they were going to kick their freaking heads kicked in whenever he came out. (This phrase is always used in his AEW theme) If you let him be himself and go out there and have bangers he is going to create magic. His latest run as WWE Champion actually came in 2019 and he was an eco-friendly heel. He even had a custom title that you can google, it was very cool. That run with the championship was an incredible run, that had an even better end to it. (You’ll know what that means sooner or later.😉) All around D Bry is an amazing wrestler and one of the best to ever do it in my books.

Dak4life

plus the wcw title is also unified in there as well

Ethan Sofinowski

CM Punk chants are because he walked out earlier that year after the royal rumble. At the time he was still under contract and people were still hopeful he would return. There were still a ton of rumours he’d show up at this very event. In reality no one in the company had communicated with him since the walkout and he received his release papers a few months later on his wedding day. The company claimed that was a coincidence but obviously Punk was upset. He didn’t return to wrestling until 2021 in aew. But for the next 6 years, you’d hear cm punk chants occasionally in wwe; usually when the audience found a match boring or was upset with booking.

David

the 2 titles were unified at this time, the WWE championship is the one that looks like the current belt, and the gold world heavyweight title is basically the title Damien priest has now. The title cody has right now is these titles unified with the universal title that got introduced a couple years after this match. So cody basically has 3 titles in 1

Jayshawn Robinson

The titles got merged the previous December in a match between Orton and Cena. The Big Gold One is the Big Gold Belt, the original World Heavyweight Championship. They carried both around for a while, the same as Roman did after he unified the WWE and Universal.
