Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams vs. AJ Styles - TNA Final Resolution 2005
Added 2024-07-08 17:00:13 +0000 UTCI almost called the ending lol

Dusty Rhodes was on the booking committee at the time. TNA was essentially born from the ashes of WCW, which explains why there were many WCW guys around throughout the first decade of their existence.
FINALLY CHOI LIA HAS COME BACK TO ITZY
2024-07-11 01:03:47 +0000 UTCTNA really had some crazy talent during this time. And honestly, throughout its whole existence. So many people that went on to be top or near top stars for places like WWE and AEW.

2024-07-09 12:36:41 +0000 UTCI was gonna mention Bullet Club as well but they aren't specifically American, just foreign. Hell, they were founded by Prince Devitt (aka Finn Balor), an Irishman. But it is basically the same concept.

2024-07-09 12:12:02 +0000 UTCPetey joined TNA as part of Team Canada when they were doing a "World Cup" style tournament in 2004, so that's why he was in Canada themed gear. He is currently working for WWE in a primarily backstage role. Looking at the Raw highlights, he was actually on screen today as one of the authority figures checking on Sami and Ilja after Bron destroyed them.

2024-07-09 03:29:12 +0000 UTCJust for some additional context, at this point, TNA was filming most of their shows on a sound stage at Universal Orlando.

2024-07-09 00:27:27 +0000 UTCYeah, DPW is awesome right now. Their last show, limit break, was so great from top to bottom.

2024-07-08 23:45:14 +0000 UTCJack Swagger as well.

2024-07-08 23:19:35 +0000 UTCAs far as I'm aware Quite a few American wrestlers do an American gimmick you wouldn't see them usually do in America, but that's mainly in Mexico as far as recently top of my head is ftr and Jeff Jarrett. Japan I don't see it much over the years or at all that I can remember. Mainly it was the foreign heels being foreign in America in the olden days in WWF wcw nwa etc and now with Lwo etc. Hacksaw him Duggan and the patriot did their pro USA stuff in other countries but not as heels or different to how they would he in their home country really .

2024-07-08 21:53:14 +0000 UTCI don't know about in general, but bullet club in japan were a heel faction that leaned heavily into being americans and using the american flag, similar to foreign heel gimmicks in the US

2024-07-08 21:29:54 +0000 UTCHulk Hogan's gimmick in the 80's/early 90's was pretty much what you described just leaning into the whole I'm American thing. His entrance music was the song real American and one of his catch phrases was " Train, eat your vitamins, say your prayers and be a real American"

2024-07-08 21:18:26 +0000 UTCDiggin the headband. Nice to have some TNA matches submitted. I was only a fan early in the company. And .. well, sometimes when you watch a guy (Hardy, Flair, Foley, Hulk) hop over to another promotion, you hope they can save a sinking ship, but they just create a couple anchors themselves.

2024-07-08 20:59:41 +0000 UTCYeah it is, Shawn Spears who just wrestled on Heatwave has appeared there and Adam Cole was supposed to before his injury.

2024-07-08 20:01:53 +0000 UTCNah no apology needed. I should have been more clear. That sounds awesome though

2024-07-08 20:00:12 +0000 UTCOh sorry for misinterpreting, but if you want to check out indy shows I would recommend DPW (if you haven’t heard of it already) it is owned by three YouTubers JohnBlud from Newlegacyinc, CMPulse, and Tonythepizzaguy. Dope Stuff! Chris Danger, probably the biggest wrestling content creator just won his first match there against Tyler Breeze.

2024-07-08 19:56:32 +0000 UTCI know tna isn't an indy show, idk if I misspoke or something in the recording. Or maybe when I said I wanted to go to an indy show? But that's just something I think of every time I see smaller crowds lol

2024-07-08 19:23:12 +0000 UTCTNA even tried to go head to head with RAW at one point in time. Not that you could call the outcome a successs, but I would definitly also not call TNA an "Indy" promotion.

2024-07-08 19:21:20 +0000 UTCDidn't mean to come off tired. But it was definitely a busy weekend, and this was a nice way to wind down. So maybe I was just relaxed 😆

2024-07-08 19:16:32 +0000 UTCThanks a lot for your effort and trying to keep pace with the increasing amount of suggestions. You seemed a little tired watching this one :D I guess the next time I suggest a multi man match in the future, I will try to pick a match where you know the majority of the involved wrestlers already.

2024-07-08 19:14:50 +0000 UTCalright watching the video and now i know the reasoning , my bad

2024-07-08 17:35:24 +0000 UTCwhere did this match suggestion come from i don’t see it on the poll ?? 😭 either way im gonna sit and enjoy the watch along!

2024-07-08 17:34:39 +0000 UTCJust for clarification, TNA is not classified as the “indies” they have their own weekly TV show every Thursday on TNA+. They were definitely competition for WWE acquiring talent like Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Christian, Booker T, and even Hulk Hogan. They are also in a working partnership with NXT now. And you did hear Dusty Rhodes correctly.
