Seoul Kitchen: Side Dish 8 Part 2

Catering Madness 2

Chef was no stranger to large crowds. He deals with them on the regular back in the Kitchen so a party shouldn't be a problem. That was what he thought, until his eyes gazed upon the throngs of people that gathered under the shadow of one of the towering Megabuilding Hub which dominated the Arroyo sub-district skyline.

"That's a lot of people…" Mained whistled as their ride was waved through the checkpoint manned by 6th Street Gang members, eyes scanning the crowd outside.

From drunken revelers, to the random passerby roped in the fun, it seemed the General was more than happy to have people over. There were even those that usually don't mix with the patriotic gang.

"And I'll be," Yang blinked as she clambered up her seat and pressed her face against the window, "There's even some of them folks from the Valentino's and Tyger Claws."

True to her words, the other gangs came in force, with booze in hand, as they along with the rest of the patriots drank and made merry in the street. He could even see Don Orto's ride in the street, though he doubted he was here given his temporary parole ended; It's probably Gustavo taking it out for a spin.

Still, despite the welcome presence of some familiar faces, it meant that he had to work a bit harder as that was one more mouth to feed. Maybe asking the old General to have the party open to the public wasn't such a good idea.

"Well Chef, you got what you wished for," Kiwi snarked as her eyes lit up in amusement, "Everyone's invited." And by everyones, does she mean everyone, much to Chef's chagrin as he reached up to pinch his brow.

"That motherfucker…" He hissed out, cursing the old bastard and his own naivety. Yes, he could deal with a crowd, but that doesn't mean he wanted to! The crowd outside was already rivaling that of the crowd after a shift change and the party hadn't even started.

It was still a whole day before the main event and he was starting to have doubts if he could pull this off without resorting to using his powers wholesale. This was going to be a long day, wasn't it? "

You think we could ask the old man more because this is just pushing it!" Pilar complained before pausing as Rebecca started kicking him.

"Hey, what gives? I'm right ain't I!" The man shouted as he shielded himself with his gangly arms and did his best to catch his sister's armored boots.

"I just hate it when you're right, ok!?" Rebecca fired back before she let up, letting her brother nurse his aching arms, before plopping back down with a frustrated growl, "Damn it, I want to shoot that bastard right now!"

"Easy there Bee," Chef sighed as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her in close, letting her snuggle up to his side, "He's just not some nobody." Still, the thought of just agreeing with Bee was tempting.

Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed as Rebecca rested her head against his chest and huffed out, annoyed. "I'll figure something out," He reassured her as Falco turned to a parking lot that a couple of 6th Street members gestured for them to take. At least they have some reserved parking spots.

"So what do we do now?" Dorio asked as everyone stared at Chef, eyes questioning. This was his gig after all, and they were here just to help him out. It would be up to him if he wanted to continue this or not. "You could always back out," She reminded him.

He could, and he honestly should, but as he took a deep breath and sighed out, he made up his mind. "As much as I hate the old bastard right now, he asked me to cook and I said yes so I'm backing down," He replied.

"So the old man wants me to cook, fine! I'll cook," He grunted. He was a man of his word after all, and his mother didn't raise no quitter. He promised to cook for everyone in the man's party and he'd do it!

"I'll cook so much that their stomach's going to be bursting by the seams and they'll even have leftovers to bring back home!" He promised, eager to make the old bastard regret ever taking advantage of his generosity. He'll make sure to make this a party they would never forget!

"That's a whole lot of mouths to feed though," Maine pointed out with a frown, tempering Chef's enthusiasm, "I'm not sure we could handle it."

"Oh definitely," he agreed whole heartedly. He wasn't delusional after all. Just because he wanted to get back at the old man doesn't mean he'd force his friends to do the impossible.
"Good thing I know a few people that could lend us a hand," He grinned, making everyone give him a look.

It's good to be kind because right now, Chef had a lot of people could ask favors from, favors he was now cashing in as he made some calls.

Pacing outside the kitchen area reserved for him, a nice little clearing with rows after rows of grills brought to him by 6th Street Members regulars he had over at the Kitchen, Chef waited. The morning sun was slowly climbing up, making the air dance as the sun heat mixed with that of the grill's low flame smoldering inside the blackened case.

With this party, he needed all the hands he could get and thankfully, he didn't have to wait too long as the towering silhouette of his friends came into view. "Sasquatch!" He greeted with open arms, pulling the burly woman into a hug, "Glad you can make it!" Truly, she and her men were a sight for sore eyes.

"I'm glad to see you too chef," Sasquatch chuckled as she squeezed him tightly, reminding him how easily she could break his back, before he pulled away with a grin, "So, need to break the old man's legs?"

"Wait, what?" He blinked before he laughed, "No! Nothing like that!" The gesture was appreciated, however, as he smiled.

"You know we'd do it for free especially when he messed with one of ours," Sasquatch offered, making Chef shake his head in wry amusement. If there was one thing he could rely on the Animals, it was that they were always there for him.

Still, he did have some questions. "How do you know I have some problems with the old general?" He asked.

"Everyone has problems with that bastard," the Woman replied with her words backed up by the annoyed grunts of the rest of the pack.

"Cabron even stiffed me on that old Rolex I sold him!" Another familiar voice added, making everyone turn to the entrance. There, Chef would find Gustavo with his familiar floral suit as he strolled in with a few of his men.

"The man certainly has a way of making enemies," Chef noted dryly, "But didn't I see your car in the parking lot?" If the general owed him a pretty chunk of change, why the hell was he here and not shooting up the place?

"Hey, the man invited me over for drinks and I couldn't say no," The man explained as he raised his hands "And besides, he paid after I shot him in the liver!" Chuckling, he nodded, "Good times."

As Chef opened his mouth to reply, Rebecca called out from the gate with a huge grin across her face, "Chef! Susie said yes and she's bringing the girls over!"
Grinning back, Chef hollered back, "Tell her I owe her big time!"

"The Valentinos, the Animals and the Mox?" Gustavo noted as he raised a brow at him, "Are you sure you're not planning an all out war?"

"Ok, I'll admit, I'm a little tempted, but that's not why I asked you over," He answered. That would be just a waste of everyone's time, not when they could be having fun over a drink or two. "I asked you over cause I need help with that."

On cue, Maine, along with Pilar and Yang clearing the way, would come in the parking lot, riding a forklift. "Is that…" Sasquatch whispered as her eyes lit up with glee at what Maine had brought over with the forklift.

"More fresh meat than there is in a Biotechnica Warehouse?" Chef grinned as he crossed his arms, saluting his friend as they dropped the large crate of fresh meat, "Yes, yes it is and I need help cooking it all." Making meat was easy. Processing it all needed more attention and expertise, something both Gang Leaders had in spades when it comes to grilled meats.

"Think you can help me here?" He asked as the two gang leaders grinned back at him.

"Do you really have to ask?" Gustavo asked as he rolled up his sleeves while Sasquatch was already getting the knives sharpened over at the nearby counter top.

"Then let's get cooking!" Chef shouted as he whipped up the two gangs into a frenzy.
