Without a moment of hesitation, I rained hell down upon the bastards that dared attack Ramsey. The bone chilling winds of winter bathed them as my icy breath poured of my mouth, making the poor unfortunate wolf in my path yelp in pain before their expression was forever captured in ice. Landing hard on the ground, I barred my teeth as I placed myself between the remaining wolves and my rival.
“You fuckers chose the wrong goat to fuck with!” I snarled out, spreading my wings wide. “Make my day you shits, I dare you!” I shouted, puffing up my chest in face of the giant wolves that now surrounded us. Caught by surprise, they were left stunned as they took a hesitant step back.
“Bah!” Ramsey bayed out weakly as he looked up at me in surprise. Looking back, I found the old randy goat’s injury to be superficial at best. The blood that covered him has long crusted over while the bruises he sported looked yellowed and was in the process of healing. That doesn’t change the fact however that he was injured.
“Think I’d just let just any random fucker eat you?” I replied with a cheeky grin as I claimed, “I’m the only one that’s allowed to eat you,” I then turned back to face the wolves as I braced my self for the fight ahead, “Beside, I owe you back then. Consider this as payback,” How could he turn his back to Ramsey now? They were Rivals Forever.
My new found bravado would be shaken however as a loud howl echoed from behind the wolves, “AWOOO!” the deep, bone shaking howl rang out as a giant of a wolf came bounding into the clearing, standing a head above the shoulder of even the biggest wolf. It was big and oh was it pissed as it glared at them with such hatred.
“Well now,” I replied, as I kept my grin stretched wide, refusing to falter now before them, “That didn’t go as planned didn’t it?” I taunted, glancing over to the frozen wolf, “One of your kids?” I asked as the wolf snarled back with such hatred. So this was personal then.
We were already significantly outmassed by the wolves as they were bigger and taller than I was and with this freak of nature coming into play, it was made all the apparent. Even Ramsey was dwarfed and he was a big goat, standing almost up to the shoulders of this monster. We might be outmatched and the wolves were quick to pick up that fact as their demeanor changed, snarling and barking as they started circling around us. Unknotting my sling and tossing it aside, I assessed the situation at hand.
There we were, a dragon whelp and a only goat, facing up against 7 wolves. Unnumbered three to one, things looked dire. Still, I refused to flee. Against overwhelming odds, I should be afraid. Yet as stared down the glinting teeth of these feral beast, I felt my heart race not with with fear but that of excitement.
“Can you fight old man?” I asked my rival as the giant wolf took a step forward, his yellow eyes locked onto me. There was no way I could out run them with their longer legs but that wouldn’t help them for what’s to come.
My erstwhile rival snorted as it pawed on the ground and lowered its horn, “Bah!” I still couldn’t understand him but it was not hard to take a guess on what he said, Think you can keep up, squirt?
“I should be asking you that old timer!” I laughed out as I charged straight at the giant wolf and firing away with my breath. The giant didn’t have time to react as one of it’s eyes was frozen over before Ramsey came slamming against them. Still, the bastard was tough and refused to go down.
Digging its paws on the ground, it then clamped down on Ramsey’s horn before wrestling the goat down. Exposed, the wolves descended down onto his rival. “Oh no you don’t!” I shouted as I sprayed my breath down on the ground, rooting them in place while Ramsey fought back.
Bucking against the giant wolves mouth, Ramsey knocked out a tooth as he freed himself just in time for him to bash his head against one of the wolves. One down, five more to go. “Keep him busy!” I shouted as I bounded straight for the smaller ones.
Unable to pull their paws back from the frozen ground, they could only howl as I tore through their necks. Compared to the tough hide of a troll, I felt my teeth gliding through flesh. Fresh blood spilled over me and down my throat as I ripped away, tearing chunks of them.
I howled in pain as I wolf bit down on my wings, pulling me away; their bloodied pawed showing how willing they were to injure themselves. I felt rage build in my chest as I turned around and latched on to their face, bitting through their eyes in a shower of gore.
They finally let go but I found my breath knocked out of me as I found myself slammed against a tree. They shook their head around, howling and yelping but I kept my hold, clamping down hard, feeling bones crack beneath my teeth until it gave way and they dropped down like a sack of meat.
My celebration would be short lived as I found my vision dominated by the giant mouth of a wolf, only for them to be knocked aside as a bloodied Ramsey tackled them aside. With most of the smaller wolves stunned, I took my chances. “Fuck him up Ramsey!” I shouted as I let my breath rip, letting out a freezing wave at the giant.
Taking a face full of my breath, it’s one good eye finally shut close, blinding him for good. Wasting no time, Ramsey charged a head and bashed them against the head. The wolf staggered, concussed by the strike.
I followed up with another breath but this time, I didn’t let up, draining my proverbial tank as I let loose. The wolf howled in pain as their extremities froze over, their lips curling back and their flesh cracking under the intense cold before finally I couldn’t fire any longer. Exhausted, I threw everything I had yet the giant still stood. Still, they were vulnerable. “Ramsey, you got this!” I shouted, struggling to stay up put everything on the line.
“Bah!” Ramsey bayed as he stood up on two legs, his mighty horns glinting in the sunlight before it came down upon the head of the giant with a resounding crack.
Blood and gore spilled out to the forest floor as the giant’s head popped like an over ripe melon, spelling the end of the fight. Silence descended upon the clearing as the remaining wolves looked up to them in horror and pain.
“Want more of this!” I shouted, forcing myself up as Ramsey bayed out along with my roar. With their leader dead, the morale of the wolves faltered and they broke, running off into the woods and leaving them with the remains of the slain. “Scram!” I shouted, legs shaky as I stood proudly before finally, exhaustion overtook.
Collapsing to the ground, I wheezed as I found myself physically drained. From one fight to another, I’m really pushing my body here.
Trotting up to me, Ramsey stared down upon my beaten form. Chuckling, I stared back and asked, “So, going to finish what we started?” It was foolish of me to drain myself but I owed this goat my life. He helped me against that troll, this was the least I could do.
For a moment, I saw him consider it… before he turned away, leaving me in the clearing alone with my thoughts. “That went better than I expected?” I whispered as I rolled to my back. My back was aching, my wings broken and my body aching but I had enough food to feed myself. “I’m going to eat like a king tonight… that is if I can even move, fuck.”
I was still beaten to an inch of my life. I needed time to heal and I had no one to take care of me. “This is what you get for being an honorable shit,” I gritted out but I had no regret, “I just wished I was dragged some spot where I could hide,” He muttered, wondering if he had enough strength to pull himself up.
“Bah!” I heard my rival shout and this time, I didn’t just hear two pairs of hooves trotting along but a veritable heard of them. I watched in awe as I soon found myself surrounded by goats, their long shaggy fur just as majestic as that of Ramsey.
“What the?” I breathed out in confusion as I soon found myself nudged upright before I was hauled up to the back of one of the goats. Gathering my things with the mouths, the goat soon carted me off along with the carcass of the wolves with them. Staring over at Ramsey, I could only gape as he gave this smug look back at me. He… he was saving me?
“Damn it man, you know I have to repay you back all over again,” I chuckled out before letting out a pained groan.
“Bah!” The randy old goat laughed as I laughed with him. Today was a good day.
