Old monthly method:
It usedto be the case that patrons were expected to be charge on the first of each month, regardless of when you decided to join. If you happened to join near the end of the month, this old method made is appear as if you were being charged twice after the next month came along.

New monthly method:
Patrons are charged on the day they join your membership, and then monthly on that same date. For example, if a patron joins on the 10th, they’ll be charged on that day, and then monthly on the 10th. All patrons who joined before your this switch to subscription billing continue to be charged on the 1st of each month.
