Happy New Year! Wataponno's 2024 recap

I want to start this message by saying thank you for this amazing year. 2024 was wild, frightening, and full of surprises both good and bad (let's be honest, only 1 bad surprise lol). This year all started with me, Ponno, losing my teaching day job because of post-covid cuts, and having to go full time dev.

This was a major leap because until then all the money from Wataponno went back into hiring artists and other people, not me. And yet you were all supportive and present. I was able to actually eat this year because of you! Just writing this brings tears of joy to my eyes. I can only be grateful enough by giving you the absolute best monstergirls game there are (cue OG pokemon theme).

This year began with a little break actually lol. With the NSFW minijam #1, that we actually won with our submission Futas of Eden! This became a cool side project to wind down and work on when nothing is working in the big projects. And with the 0.4 update this month, it took off nicely. Futas of Eden crowd, I hear you. There will be more!

But 2024 is the year of Magical Monstergirls Academy. From the final demos to the release, and now over 6000 copies sold (patreon supporters can check the latest preview of the Darkwoods free DLC/update). Reading all the comments and your enthusiasm about our game really fills us with joy and determination. With the sales, we are in a better financial situation that we ever were and will bring more people for our projects in 2025. A lot of people are already contacted and on board and will start in January, in just a few days.

Now, for 2025

We have a lot to do, and we're excited to get back in action after the holidays! I'll be honest, I never expected to reach the second sales milestone so fast for Magical Monstergirls Academy, so that put a bit of delays in Magical Hellhound Lust (Saki's game). Good thing though, because of the sales and the previously mentioned extra hands, these delays will be minimal.

Plus, we have a ton of cool shit coming this year: an actual game trailer for Magical Hellhound Lust, original music, new smutty art for achievements in MHL, ON TOP of the games themselves!

Speaking of which, expect a new demo for MHL in january. This will showcase the progression system/part of the skill tree. Very much pre-alpha stuff.

There's also the Darkwoods free DLC/update for MMA in february.

AND an update of Futas of Eden between end of january and end of february. This update will use everything that we already have art-wise but that's not currently in game.
