Hi Patreon! The most up to date information will be on his Discord channel under announcements. Update from 3/9/25 stated due to recent changes with EA, BBB is still being updated. There is back end coding and logistics language that needs to be addressed due to the way EA makes changes. Happy Sim Simming!

I read this on the EA forums so don’t shoot the messenger just thought I could help, they posted: “After more farting around with my mod folder, I think deleting Resource.cfg and making the game regenerate it did the trick.” Then someone replied and said: “For removing all effects of BBB after removing the file, run a Game Repair.” I haven’t tried it but maybe it’ll work

Hi--not sure how best to get in touch, but since the January update I'm having weird, annoying flickers of the light and shadows in both build mode and play mode; it's not T.O.O.L., so I think it may be BBB? I'm on a Mac. I don't have other mods, so I'm at a loss. Help?

BBB is working fine now you could of read my post above I found another UI program and removed it a color enhancer 4 sims live. I removed it and working fine. It is probably a mod of yours . I had to even remove Carl's seasons because it was bad. no UI Issue from it. Try the 50 50 method remove a few see what happens. Mccc is working fine too. You can check Mizouri Youki on patron to see what mods are erroring she even puts if updated

He hasn't updated BBB since Oct 31 and so many different little mods are in there that I think it's bound to start causing problems. I can't get on discord either. I'll probably pull out of here. can't afford it.

Hey TM, I was wondering if it might be possible for you to unlock all past event objects and CAS items? I mean so many of us just don't have the time to invest in gameplay that these events require, as I know for me, I like to create more than play, not to mention this isn't the only game I play and I do have a life besides gaming lol. But I feel cheated not having the stuff from past events, I mean all those collectible day of the dead skulls were in debug from the start, yet not more recent event items. It would be super to have them in game now though.

I cant get on discord so here is. The new patch messed up tools and better build buy thru UI Issues. impossible to read better build buy . Being my on UI mod. I removed Tools at it's latest version. UI got somewhat better. But went in to Betterbuild buy and UI is a mess. Can you please update . I have no printout. Just did it thru the old fashioned remove and see.

When I unplug BBB it displays properly, and when I install BBB only Comfy Gamer is displayed.

Chanelle, Tool and Better Build Buy affect the gui. It scrambles pretty much everything. It's perfectly normal to experience these things. It needs to be updated, then you overwrite the files. Don't need to touch anything else. Then it works normally. Just hang on. Best thing to do is go into the Sims4 folder and add the phrase: - Update necessary after each mod that affects the gui. I have others that I posted above. When Sims4 gets updated, remove Tool and BetterBuildBuy from the folder to a folder on your desktop. I call this folder: Sims4 Broken Mods. Then wait patiently for the updates, overwrite them with the new one and put it back in the Mods folder in Sims4. Saves time on the headaches.

Interesting thing is, I have several mods that break when EA updates their game. 1. lot51 core and whatever mods are associated with that. Updated 2 days ago. 2. More CAS columns. Updated yesterday. 3. More Traits in CAS. Updated 2 days ago. MCCC works, but usually breaks. But the last one, (Always last) is Tool and Better Build Buy). Why is it always the last one? Don't understand. I paid for a membership to get these ESSENTIAL mods that I use extensively updated asap.

Alright, i see! Chanelle is correct also, that right now since there was an update, you need to delete the current versions of BBB as game updates break mods like this! And then wait until an update is posted of course. From your previous messages i assume your issues happened before the update though (I apologize for the lengthy message, i was trying to cover all bases!) The file you need to put into your mods folder should not be the one with the zipper (aka "TwistedMexi's Better BuildBuy v3.3.2 Official" ) , but the folder inside it, called "Tmex-BetterBuildBuy". Thats the way youre supposed to do it to make it work yes! Okay from what youre describing, It does sound like something could be conflicting with the mod or it may be out of date, or maybe a mac issue which i really hope it isnt :( Its odd that you say the mod works sometimes, and other times it doesnt. Is this per chance related to when the game updates? (i just want to make sure this isnt the case, some folks forget or arent aware that these type of mods break when the game updates.) I'd try to turn organized debug off (if you have it on) then deleting the mod, then putting it back in once the mod is updated here for the new patch, and see if it works or not. If BBB is still not working, i would take out all of your mods/custom content and ONLY put in the new& updated version of BBB. Then i would load up the game and load into a Lot to see if BBB now works correctly or not. If it still doesnt work correctly, even though its the only mod you have & updated, then you're correct and it may be an issue with the mod itself (maybe with mac, specifically?) It the mod DOES work when it is the only one in your mods folder, then it was maybe conflicting with another mod of yours (specifically a "script" mod, not furniture or hairs or such.) I'm not sure how organized you keep your mods, but i would of course say to make sure that there are no accidental extra copies of this mod in your custom content. Then, I would try what you were thinking of before, Slowly putting bit by bit of cour CC and mods back into your game. then load up the game to verify if BBB still works. I would maybe break up your CC into folders, so that its easy to track as you test where the issue may lie. For example if you put portion 1, 2 & 3 of your cc back in but then BBB stops working once you put in folder 4, you know something in folder 4 is conflicting with BBB. Then you can do the same process of elimination with that folder to find what is conflicting with BBB (likely a script mod, not stuff like furnishings or such.) Its tedious work, but tried and true if you do want to go down that path. I'd love to see your BE report that you mentioned, as it could give some clues to what may be going on but im not sure how you could share that here. Unfortunately i have not found a way to message people on patreon either. :( And to your question earlier, doing any of this should not break your saves, as long as you dont save your game while you're loaded into those saves as you do these "tests" to find the culprit! Your saves may only get some problems if a, for example, gameplay mod or a mod that overhauls something like an aspiration or such were removed, and you saved the game from what i know!

Hey Carol, you’ll probably need to uninstall both BBB and TOOL as they are broken atm. We will be updated when the mods are fixed. I doubt they’d take too long. I totally get your struggles I hate typing those bloody cheats in constantly haha

If I could share a picture I would but it has completely messed up my build mode switching into furniture and clutter like it’s like it’s just mixed together, over each other. My menu is all weird. There’s white stuff affecting all menus including main save menu. It’s like my computer took crack and some cid and came home with its tail between its legs

Currently, both Better Build Buy and Tool are broken from the latest update. It seems as if every update it breaks these two mods (maybe more, but I only use these two currently) without fail. It would be nice to get the fix asap, if it isn't asking too much.

Thank you for your willingness to help. I do have those files backed up and triple backed up with copies on my desktop. Sims 4 is not new to me. I started playing when it first came out, but with less enthusiasm than now that I'm on disability and retired. Also, I've used BBB before and things were fine in the beginning. I used my Mac computer I had then heavily for so much. This is the first NEW laptop I've purchased in 22 years and so far I'm only using it for Sims and a website I have. What I expect and need from the mod is just to not have to type in commands all the time. There is so much extra fluff I don't really need. Lighting, poses, tool, etc... I just want to search build/buy easily, move objects and have everything show up. When I go to filter, sometimes the options are there and sometimes they aren't. MOO is NEVER on, as well as the other commands, even when the filter is working. With the Mac, it's hard to know what he means by sometimes the folder opens by itself when installing. Well, it always does to some degree. It looks white with a zipper. So I drag that in, and sometimes BBB works, then I try unzipping that folder and I get a blue folder and drag that, and sometimes BBB works. Judging by how many people are having trouble with the program, I just have to think it's a problem with the program.

Hello Carol! Im so sorry youve been struggling with this. I just subscribed here so i could respond to you and hopefully help you (TwistedMexi only allows Supporters to comment, that is possibly why you have gotten no help from others) i deleted my previous comment because i sent it too early, oops. Before you try to change things, i would recommend for you to go into your Documents folder on your Mac, then Electronic arts, then Sims 4. You should see your "Saves" & "Tray" folder here (as well as your mods folder that you know already, it seems!) I recommend for you to make a copy of both of these folders to somewhere you can find easily, this way, you have a back up of your save files and builds, in case anything goes wrong! (if you ever reinstall for example, you could put these files back into your sims 4 folder and dont lose them! ) I saw you mention earlier that your BBB doesnt work correctly and your files are messed up, mentioning a long BE log that you got. Could you possibly try to describe what felt messed up with your files after you put BBB in, and what about it didnt work correctly? (for example, what did you expect to happen when you put BBB in, and what didnt happen.)

I put in my email and the new password which it accepts and lets me in to my profile, but it will NOT let me claim my account and it says I will lose it. So I cannot post at all. No one answers me here. IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WILL HELP ME, with Better buildbuy, if I take out the mod, saves and tray folders and reload the whole game, put in the BBB mod, add the other mods a little at a time, will my saves still work and will that straighten out any strange files? I have a new MacBook Pro and I'm only using it for Sims4 right now and I've used it and all the packs, kits, stuff, mods, cc, etc...for 10 years now. However, for some reason I cannot get BBB to work correctly and all my files are now messed up and making me crazy and my 66 yr old mind can't take it anymore. I have a BE a mile long. You have to actually read the rules. When you speed run them it rejects it so you have accept it again and logs how fast you clicked accept the first time. We have this because of the amount of people who would spam accept and then clearly know none of the rules. I see you've gotten in since though.

I've tried everything suggested and it's not working correctly. I've taken everything out of the mods folder, correctly installed Better-Build-Buy, and it continues to say: Incorrect Better BuildBuy Install! and the lower left panel is all scrambled. Even with only this mod in the mod's folder. I'm pretty adept with following instructions.

You can save any color but the non default colors won't show unless you select all on the color filters.

Instructions say not to extract it anywhere, you should be opening the download by double clicking per instructions.

I tried getting help at your Discord. I downloaded the zip to my downloads folder. Extracted it to my Mods folder and dragged the Tmex folder out to my mods. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. I have tried to get this to work 9 times.

I don't know if this is an known issue but the color settings for lights are buggy and triggers better exceptions. If it's already known but hard to fix, would you also offer a version without the wheel? I really love your mod and since it has become a must-have for me it gets quite annoying with time, deactivating and reactivating the mod frequently

Hi Mr. Mexi, thanks for taking the time to respond to me on the other post! Sadly I'm still having the "Incorrect BetterBuildBuy Installation" error with v3.3 as well. The mod is in the root mods folder with no subfolders and script mods are turned on. It's no longer giving me the error message when BBB is not present in the folder, so that's progress at least. Let me know if there's something you recommend trying next, or if there's a more official help forum, and thanks for all the work you do!!

Hi there, firstly, just want to say, I absolutely LOVE your mods, thank you for all you do for the community and getting this out sooo fast! Secondly, I am almost 90% sure it's me doing something wrong but since this L&D update I am having some trouble saving things to my favourites folder? Two examples of this are 'The Perfect Pillow' and the 'Casual Comfort Pillow'. I have added them to my favourites but they do not appear in my favourites folder? I have tried favouriting them in the default swatch and a different swatch (as I read your release notes), still not appearing. I saved and reloaded, repaired and re-installed mods, nothing is working. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks so much xo

hi and thank you so much for your time and effort into these mods, i just want to report that i believe BBB is throwing an error out when trying to change the color of ghosts. i have better exceptions installed as well, and received a last exception when trying to change the color of a ghost, BE told me that BBB was a plausible cause. i did test this by taking BBB out and retrying to change the color, which was successful. again thank you so much for the effort you put in here! sorry if this isn't the right spot to report this to you.

Hi! I love this mod, but ever since the update, I can't properly edit the color and intensity of lights in live mode. The pop up is glitchy and the color selection doesn't work at all. 😭
