SNEAK PEEK: Spell Cell Buildables

Hail, members of the Secret Door Club!

The next Quest Pack is going to be all about Spell Cells - The magical batteries that are all the rage in Silver Spires. The widespread use of these cylinders plays a big role in the story of Stars of the Sea, so it is important that the players get to use them often!

Rose has developed a new type of item-card box that players in the Stars of the Sea campaign will be able to use to keep track of their Spell Cells, and the various items that make use of them. It has six slots in the top that fit buildable paper cells, and a drawer that fits our item cards.

Giving players a physical item that represents their Spell Cells will help cement them as a central focus of the campaign. They will also help make the use of Spell Cells more tactile and meaningful, which will be important given that discarded Spell Cells are the cause of the monstrosity that appears at the end of Act 2. Perhaps the game master can even have players crumple up and discard these cells once used, to highlight their disposable nature!

We hope you enjoyed this preview! The Quest Packs we have planned for the future will introduce many new marvellous items that are powered by Spell Cells, so ideally there will be gadgets to tempt every player in the party!
