SNEAK PEAK: Bramblebottom's Barge
Added 2018-07-07 16:28:30 +0000 UTCHi sneak peek patrons! Just popping in to give you guys a first look at the barge we're building for Quest Pack #5. Here you can see the work in progress, from the first janky prototype, to something that more closely resembles the professor's barge!
At first I wanted to try giving it a proper deck, but it was super fiddly and had a lot of potential to get real wonky real fast :)
Second try; this time I got into Illustrator to give some more accurate dimensions and shapes. Still the front of the boat looks a little bare, and something about that vent box on the roof wasn't quite working...
Third prototype - we decided the front needed more going on, so we raised the bow and added in a little platform, as well as giving the cabin portholes instead of square windows and adding a tiny standing edge to the cabin roof so that characters can use it as a 'lookout' spot! There's also a cheeky chimney you can see poking out in the top photo :)
We're hoping the different levels and areas for minis to stand in makes encounters on the barge more dynamic/interesting since there's plenty of places to hide/fight/watch/etc.
