Drawing with Sound (Oscilloscope Music)

Ok... this video was incredibly awesome to make. I first saw Jerobeam's music about a year ago and started trying to figure out how to make it over to him.  Thank you for supporting via Patreon and allowing me to not feel guilty about a flight to do this!!  Anyways, many conversations with Hansi opened my mind to the concept of Parametric Equations all around me in the natural world.  I'm going to look into this in the future.

I hope you enjoy this half as much as I enjoyed making it!

It is incredible what creative minds can come up with.

Eike Bartels

Wow, that was a fun watch! Thanks Destin!

Great work https://bit.ly/2mf0E1n

This has to be the best music I've ever seen. Thrilled to be a part of this!

This was absolutely top notch. So proud to be a backer that when I sent this to my friends I mentioned as much. I don't think I'll be over this concept/implementation for a while. Incredible find.

Okay that was really neat. I used analog o-scopes in college, but never knew you could do this with them! I thought I knew what this video would be before I watched it, but the shapes they generated blew my mind, and they even sounded like music! I'm glad you discovered them and made this video.

WHAAAAAAAAAT. I love stuff like this that comes out of left field to blow my mind. Thank you, sir!

So, I’m thinking the afterglow of a CRT scope is required for this to work? Can it be done on a digital scope at all?

Destin, you have really over-delivered here, or I have under-contributed. I can (and did) fix that. This is content I love paying for. Thank you!

Can't wait to see what you do with parametric equations! Fascinating video!

Engineering EDM party! Very very coo video, though a little heavy on the Casper promo.

Kristy

This is probably one of the more weirder yet interesting videos. Still though, can't beat the poop splash video.

Showed to my synesthete wife, she says it was uncomfortable...but very cool.

My mind literally could not take in all of the data trying to correlate things. such a beautiful mesh of math, music, and art. And the nerd in my made the exact same audible reaction as Destin when he did the sin/cos demonstration. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing! One of my favorite Smarter Every Day videos recently.

Little Yako

My first contribution! I like it :-)

Nebbstar

Awesome!

Daniel Turner

The Sin/Cosine demonstration is AWESOME just from an educational standpoint!
