The Engineer That Worked on the Computer That Controlled the Saturn V - Smarter Every Day 223

Man... this one was really fun to make.  Luke Talley is an American Treasure.  It was very interesting to see his mind juxtaposed with Linus's.  This is one of those videos where I really want to jump in and ask a ton of questions, but I realize that there's a more qualified individual to ask the questions so I do my best to get out of the way and let the magic happen.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Just have to say, the video on the second channel is amazing. Thanks for sharing all that detail!

nice

Being a software developer myself this was really interesting, especially the longer version on the second channel. Btw. Curious Droid also did a video on the LVDC that I found interesting, focusing on slightly different aspects: https://youtu.be/p12CinjFh1I - can't get enough of that stuff :)

This video was so fantastic. It is amazing to see how ingenious the old guard was.

There's no part of this I didn't love.

Very well put together. Will be really cool for kids now to see this information in the near future. You're preserving history Destin! Nice work!

I just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. The perspective and expertise Luke conveyed was fantastic, and since I'm a computer geek like Linus the dynamic worked really well.

This was a joy to watch. Thank you so much Destin!

It would be really cool to connect Luke Talley with Ron Burkey. I just listened to The Orbital Mechanics podcast (episode 220) with Ron where he talked about creating the virtual AGC and how he would like to do the same with the LVDC but has had difficulties getting source code that is in the public domain.
