Thanx for keeping us in the loop. Their proposed change was understandable, except for the $0.35 per creator we support. Are you going to charge us for the dominoes outcome? I feel its only fair because it has been amazing watching the science of it. Regards.

Destin, I had been on the fence to become a patron of your channel for a long time now. The way you handled this confirmed I should. Way to handle a rough situation gracefully.

I knew that no matter their business model, it didn't work with people leaving the platform - so this is unsurprising yet welcome and hopefully everyone has learnt something new. Meanwhile those who left to prove a point can now come back and since they never actually made the changes, nothing should have changed so noone lost out :) If they legitimately work with creators in future then this should be avoided!

Yup. Waiting was a good idea. The three bulleted items in that blog post perfectly sum up the problems, and the rest of the post acknowledges & apologizes for the poor decision making process and roll-out of the change. Bravo Patreon!

They did actually. One of the bullet points was about aggregation - that is, the way that you can pledge to a dozen creators and they will turn that into a single charge.

Glad they're going back on it. Disappointed they didn't acknowledge the issue with charging each individual pledge rather than individual transactions. Makes me wonder if they'll try to implement a similarly underhanded revenue booster in the next solution. Glad it worked out in the meantime, anyway!
