Livestreams — a Story of Overtime
Added 2025-07-17 15:00:10 +0000 UTCThe Gameplay Trailer for Echoes of the End is now out, and so is the release date; August 12th. As you can imagine, I'm working hard on that project right now. We're polishing the game, bug testing, meeting certification, and all the final steps before a game can be released. And it's a lot of work with some occasional overtime.
From the beginning of this channel it's been stolen moments; a few hours here and a few hours there between sessions and work, to make a video. And finding those few hours has gotten harder and harder in the past couple of months.
The Video Game Industry is famous for it's long and arduous crunch periods and we've managed to avoid a lot of that. Frankly, the overtime required for my job has been simple and tame compared to some of the other folks working on the project but it's still sort of present. Even if it's nowhere near the levels that you'll hear in industry horror stories.
Anyway, finding the time to do Livestreams has been hard. Like, really hard. I keep thinking that tonight is the night for a stream, and then I have to work through it, or simply don't have the energy to do it. Or... more often than not, I realize streaming would mean not doing that week's Mystic Arts video. Which is my top priority with the channel; always.
Regardless! There is now a release date. Which means there's an end in sight on this project I've worked on for the past 7 years of my life. And when that's done, we'll be back to streaming! But I wouldn't hold my breath for a livestream before then.
No matter how much I'm always trying to find a window that works.
