Happy New Year! TRC Update!

Hey everyone!  Ace here!  I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday!  With the New Year here and this being Dame’s final week, I just wanted to check in with you all regarding the channel and Patreon going forward.  If you have not seen Dame’s post regarding his departure, you can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/dame-117432119

First off I am sad to see Dame go but I wish him nothing but the best!  Without him there wouldn’t be TRC!  Literally.  For those of you that don’t know…I met Dame randomly in 2016 at a Lupe Fiasco concert while waiting in line for the doors to open at the venue.  I was discussing some songs with another fan and Dame joined in the discussion.

We continued to chat and he mentioned that he had a podcast called The Report Card where he reviewed Hip Hop & R&B music.  I immediately followed and tuned in as a fan every week!  I found some new music through the show, shared episodes with friends and even requested albums for review!

It wasn’t until Thanksgiving of that same year where Dame reached out to me to be a guest on the show!  After that he asked if I would like to come back and from then on…I became a recurring guest to a member of TRC.  From there we continued to review music in podcast form and started to upload video content on YouTube within the next year.

Eventually we met Bang Bang who at the time was looking for audio assistance with his podcast.  He started to come over to observe how we record and then joined in a few of our TV/film reviews.  Shortly after that we began reacting to music videos and we asked him if he wanted to be apart of that content as well. The rest is history and it grew into what TRC is now!

I shared all this to say that TRC has been a melting pot of ideas that came organically from individuals who met and shared a passion for content creation. We had no idea it would evolve into what it is today.  Major thanks to Dame for entrusting us from the beginning to grow with this brand and now for the future.  And as always, a special thank you each and everyone of you that have supported us in any kind way!

With his departure comes some changes to how we record content for the channel.  We are currently on a break for the holiday and will be back to uploading to YouTube sometime mid-January.  Bang Bang and I have a new recording location…which is my house.  (Lol.)   And when it comes to scheduling time to record together we are currently working it out due to the fact that I actually live a bit farther away.

On Patreon there will be no Throwback Thursday or Live Performance reactions this week, but soon we will be sharing our new Patreon content schedule.  We still plan to deliver the same type of content here on Patreon that you have come to expect with some slight changes and additions!
