me personally, i enjoyed apt so much. it's the most enjoyable for me as it is straight down my alley as (one of) the type of sound i like, also very nostalgic for me and i think it's a good peek into what rose wants to show us outside of her group, but also another side of her (as we have yet to hear more than one song from any of the bp members atm). it also doesn't feel out of place for her. it's true that it's literally just a fun song since apt (apateu) is a korean drinking game using the korean slang for apartment, so with that - i'm happy to join in on the fun, i love it. as for mantra, imo if u know jennie well - u would know that it was a VERY jennie song, so i'm surprised u feel like it wasn't 'her' cause idk to me it screams jennie having followed bp since the start. i also enjoy it more due to that reason even if i can't wait to see her stretch her limbs and do more. I feel like lisa's are def the weakest but she seems dedicated in showing what else she can do and i appreciate that cause it's not like they're bad - just coasting a little, new woman is my fav amongst the new songs for sure but even then - i kind of hoped/still hope for the future, that she leans into her performance skill and does songs/stages akin to a...ciara or janet jackson for eg, who are very dance-centric cause that's where i feel she shines the best. lastly, it is a bit harsh what u said d, u can def have ur opinions, we all do - i respect them but also note ur going based off of 1 song, in terms of what they CAN do - it's only the start of their solo careers as artists, and they should be allowed the space to grow or 'miss' or even fail and find their sound and identity like any other could, saying they should go back to being a group asap is not really constructive or helpful, and for an artist - there's simply no growth or learning hiding in safe spaces and comfort-zones forever, not to mention so un-fulfilling. they should do this so that when they get together, they'll be even stronger - and then when they split again, they will have learned and gained something from all these experiences, rinse & repeat. but, just my take ofc. this is only the beginning for the girls, but if it's more easy to underestimate them, i say just continue do that w/out apology, cause we love to see a dark horse don't we ;)

2024-10-25 11:55:08 +0000 UTCFirst off y'all people should realize that, if a reactor comment or give his opinion on a song and its dicey, other people can give their opinions too, as long its not hate or threats, you put your opinion out on someonelse music, understand that some might not agree with you, since you dont sugarcoat your thoughts ( which i love that about dame), understand that some too aren't gonna sugarcoat theirs, all that while keeping it respectful. My problem with dames commentary is not about the fact that he likes the song or not, or if he doesn't think the song(s) is (are ) top tier great, but my main issue is him saying rose or the black pink members need to crawl back together or in his word need each other /they have to go back YG/teddy sound in order to make "good music" that a huge no no to me, you don't get to decide how an artist must make his/her music, if its not appealing to you cool, if is the instrumentals you didn't like cool, the voice of the artist thats cool too, but don't insult Rosé on her solo saying she needs black pink just because the song isn't a hit in your opinion. If they want to get together and make music again, that would be for another reason specific to them

Personally Lisa so far is the weakest overall in the sense that I feel like her music does not have a clear identity. I think most blackpink fans can agree that mantra was so perfectly jennie i mean it gave me the feel of solo in the sense that the visuals and fashion were so stunning and then she was just embodying the confidence we know she has! As for Rosé I think we are seeing her FORREAL this time not the kpop version of Rosé we have seen these past 8 years. Plus this is the best song I think out of all that can actually bridge the gap between Korea and America sonically because koreans are LOVING this track and so are americans because it feels fun and nostalgic.

And I think you're at least correct in knowing it was gonna be a dicey take lmao. Bruno is one of the best performers of our generation. But I don't agree that she got outshone, like you're saying Rose didn't shine with the vocals until the 2nd part and like... yeah, she was doing the 2000s pop punk talk-rapping in the first part. The singing wasnt going to shine because she wasn't singing lmao. Its not for you and thats fine. But yes, especially when you go that hard on a popular release (that tbh ive seen a lot of NON-Blinks fans really loving Rockstar, New Woman, Mantra and APT too) there's gonna be people who are gonna head tilt. Also on the "people are gonna assume thats what I said".... thing: People twist your words a lot, so i know its a pain point for you, but here you didnt say "no i dont think its a bad record" until literally the outro when you spent 7 minutes shitting on how you think blackpink need each other and they should go crawling back to YG for the sound, etc... like yeah, I think I get how people could get that impression that you didnt like the track lmao.

2024-10-21 14:24:02 +0000 UTCThis is just my opinion, but I think that if the style of music/song they’re coming out with isn’t your style chances are it’s just not gonna resonate with you(not Dame specifically just ppl in general). This song isn’t my style at all it’s catchy as hell though. But it’s not something I’d put on my phone and vibe out to. Jennie’s song is my favourite by far. But I didn’t like Lisa’s song. The songs do feel generic like basically and simple but that’s not always bad.
