My friends,
I just got off a stage where Geoff Keighley and Todd Howard sat and watched a documentary I directed. AAAAAGH!
*cough*
It's fair to say this is the peak of my professional career and so I'm a bit lost for words right now. Please enjoy the video attached, let me know what you think in the comments, and feel immense pride in that none of this would have been possible without your support.
What a crazy journey this has been. The best is yet to come.
Enjoy the show friends.
Danny

2018-06-22 18:31:15 +0000 UTCWatched it and loved it. I only wish it were feature length so I could hear more from the teams :). And I hope the team at Capcom lets you give that incredible looking Resident Evil 2 remake a behind the scenes look!

2018-06-16 06:58:06 +0000 UTCHe seemed to like them both. He was surprised that we were able to make them as polished in the 3-4 week window we had for editing. His favorite part of the second one seemed to be the bit where we used the Fallout 3 animation to explain all the monsters they had. He said next time we'd get more b-roll :)

2018-06-15 01:51:32 +0000 UTCI don't mind having radio silence for 3 months then getting something like this. I know this is not the normal nature of internet things. And I know you haven't been completely without communication about this. BUT I hope the new increase in supporters prove that it's possible to dig deep into projects like this in the future, and find stability in the dip, now trusting release will bring it back. Or maybe this is turning into an E3 tradition :)

2018-06-14 14:04:03 +0000 UTCLoved both docs and the ones before that! Just became a supporter a couple of days ago and cant wait for more awesome docs! Im curious to know what Todd and the others thought of both the first and second doc? Todd was sitting next to you when you showed the 76' doc today/yesterday correct? =)

2018-06-13 20:53:19 +0000 UTCFallout 4 really disappointed me, but in a way, this doc helped bring me some closure. I was baffled about why Fallout 4 was such a shallow experience, but now it seems clear that F4 was actually just a dry-run for multiplayer. I would have loved some hardball questions about why Fallout 4 was so bad, but I think you actually ended up unearthing those answers without having to directly ask the question.

2018-06-13 19:39:12 +0000 UTCLove the doc. I have played every fallout game and love the series. I was wondering how the game was going to work. I think the people at Fallout 76 are underestimating the determination of a bored griefer or a group of 4 killing a solo play just for shits a and giggles. Unrestricted pvp doesn't work, even with penalties. I played the beta and reg Ultima online and it made the game unplayable for me. It's not fun to be always looking over your back for a 12 year old griefer and his buddies.

2018-06-13 14:16:15 +0000 UTCIt's a good question. I mean, a large part of the reason these studios allow us to come tell their stories is because we tell their stories better than they'd be able to themselves. Our lens make sit worthwhile, and it's that, along the quality of the work, that gets doors opened to us. Fingers crossed it'll open even more doors.

2018-06-13 14:16:07 +0000 UTCThanks for voicing your thoughts. First of all, this was made under the same creative rules we've always had. Full editorial independence from us, so the story I told was the story I wanted to tell. I get that launching during E3 really puts us closer to their marketing plans, but that's the compromise you make when trying to get this level of access before an announcement. It's not like we're only going to do previews like this in the future either, but the hope is that we do them alongside our more retrospective docs.

2018-06-13 09:12:09 +0000 UTCIt's a strange question. Is there inherent value for the viewer in quality advertising separate from the product it advertises? I don't know. But that video was cool. And if I was a game studio, I'd be clamoring for Danny to do a doc on my next big game. I'd love to see this treatment on something like Cyperpunk, or Red Dead Redemption 2, or the Final Fantasy 7 remake (whatever the fuck that's going to be?). Great doc, trailer, or whatever, Danny. Looking forward to the other BGS stuff.

2018-06-13 08:17:31 +0000 UTCCan't wait to watch it later today. I'm very happy you've gotten to this point and am very excited for all the docs in the future! Don't stress out too much Danny, look what you've accomplished <3
2018-06-13 08:15:19 +0000 UTCI kinda feel uncomfortable with my money funding marketing material. I understand that this isn't designed to sell the game, but it's getting a bit close for my taste
2018-06-13 06:26:31 +0000 UTCThis got me so hyped. End game nuking sounds fantastic.

2018-06-13 03:06:50 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loved it mate. Bloody top notch work. You and the team should be incredibly proud. Can't wait to see what the future holds for you.
