The Fight for Accessibility (Ian Hamilton) - Noclip Sessions

YOUTUBE LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJm3uwTaYng

Hey Patrons,

I've been looking forward to sharing this one.

Ian Hamilton is an accessibility specialist who runs the Gaming Accessibility Conference and consults with game companies over how to make their games more accessible. We talked to him about the small changes studios can make to make their games available to more people.

This is an area I've been interested in covering for a long time now and we're currently working with some people to explore this area in a more substantial manner in the not-too-distant future.

Hope you find it as insightful as I did.

Danny

Somehow I forgot to watch this episode. Luckily I had this window open in a tab. Even though I don't need them, better subtitles would really be a plus. I just turn on subtitles in every game I play either for when audio design / delivery gets in the way of dialogue or for podcasts.

I love the fact that there are people out there who are trying their best to help people with disabilities to enjoy the virtual worlds game studios created.

Great session, would love to see more about some of the control mechanisms people have put together and that people have worked together on

Great job on this Game Accessibility Sessions video. I’m glad to see game accessibility get more attention by game companies and games media. As a legally blind gamer myself, I am very interested in this topic, and have become more involved over the past several years, including a YouTube on VR, game, and tech accessibility from a blind/low vision perspective. IF you will be doing additional NoClip content on accessibility, I’d love to help however I can.
