Turner Hills preview

It's the first public game footage. There are some major flaws like poor car physics or ghost city, they'll be improved over time, this game is currently under development. It's not updated as frequently as we all expect, because I'm running it alone now.

You can support this project by telling your friends about it or subscribing to its YouTube channel.

Skyline video preview

Skyline is gradually replacing the placeholder car and I decided to release another video preview with it.

Known issues:

1. Colliders are not properly configured for this mesh

2. Rear spoiler, front quarterpanels and some other parts have missing objects

3. Licence plate doesn't have its own illumination

4. The car is still using old placeholder HUD while there's a new design already available

5. Ugly smoke particle system is not replaced y...

More streets of the Turner Hills

Now we have some better previews of the city, but that's not enough! Important little details are missing: street signs, ad billboards, light posts, trash cans and other props. That's something you'll see next time here :)

Deeper into streets

More detailed images are currently in progress.

Suburban area

Next step is moving into more crowded districts with bigger and taller buildings, we're getting closer to the demo.

Progress on the city

There's still some hard landscape work to do, but at least we got first previews of the streets now :)

New city map

So why new map? Well, old one was just too boring to drive :) It's all new now. Each white rectangle represents an array of buildings.

ULTIMATE patrons could drive through this city as soon as it will be done.

Flashback

If STE would be released many years ago on a DVD, how it would look like? Probably something like this :)

Road generator

Roads are essential part of the city - that's where you'll actually race! But hey, how do you make all these roads?

First of all, modern games use splines for this task, i.e. you just create road segments, draw your roads with splines and combine them all together. Best results are achieved with a special tool - road generator, it allows to build road network even faster and produce a more complex geometry. It also includes vertex paint setup to draw dirt and damage over the road, so fi...

The future

The most important topic here. First of all, I plan to release a playable demo after passing the biggest milestone of this project - making the city. It's a big and time-consuming task, but it's a point when I could go back to polishing cars, adding more parts and gameplay features.

Hey, just say when I could play the game!

I'll be honest, not in this month.

Dude, you got a team, why it takes you SO LONG to even make a demo?

Team I hav...

What's about the Supra?

Long time no news about this car and you might be wondering, is it cancelled or something? No way, we still expect to have two fully functional cars in the early access version and they are Skyline and Supra.

Minor details in the garage

Probably something you've seen already, but let's just look at the garage again.

What's around the city?

All Unreal Engine maps start from landscape. Turner Hills starts from this one.

Turner Hills

So, what city should we expect to see? Another Valo City?

I call it Turner Hills and we're still in beatiful California. My plan is to start from a small district (Highland Park) and this map is how I imagine this area. It's a very early map and most likely you'll see some changes in the future. For example, it might be too big for a starter map or these rectangular grids will be boring to drive or something else, only time and experience will give us answers to these questions.

Decal paint

Decals might sound like something easy to do, but it was challenging to add them into a game like this, where you can disassemble the whole car down to the naked metal. By the way, there's a little bonus: you could add your own custom decal stickers into the game through "decals" folder, just like in Street Legal.

Day/night cycle

As the title says, there's also a fully dynamic day/night cycle. You can still skip 1 or 8 hours as you got used to do in Street Legal, but now you'll actually see how sun and moon are moving around and how light turns into darkness.

Weather machine

The game has a nice feature called the "weather machine". What does it do? It generates daily and hourly weather forecasts, controls outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, cloud density, sun brightness and some other things. And you can actually see how it works in game with a fully dynamic sky! Sunny skyline slowly dissolves in the clouds, fog drops down to the ground, sun appears again...

Introducing top-grade Patreon tiers

We've received some special requests to add even higher Patreon tiers, so here they are:

INSANE: $250/month. As the title says, that's absolutely insane, but if you'd love to see a good racing game just like we are and if you're rich enough, we're ready to discuss some special benefits for you.

Investor: $3000/month. Pretty good deal if you're a private investor or publisher, this tier offers a revenue share and it may turn out into some impressiv...

Garage previews

Finally we can look a bit into the future and check out the new garage in the assembled state. Lighting may be adjusted a little bit and some more props will be added (for example, there's no car jack yet), but it's not a huge work.

But what's wrong with the cars? They're just not finished yet, so you can see them in a preview quality here, that's the next gap to fill.

Where's the Supra? You'll see it again, it's not gone :)

Updates on the garage

There's some hard work behind and now the building looks good both inside and outside. It also gained some minor little details that we'd like to share with you today. This is far beyond the level of details this building had before and it would be impossible to do without your support, thanks a lot to every patron!

But what's next? The interior is still missing some props and this gap is gonna be filled up as soon as possible. When this work will be done, cars will be back in the build...

Over 15000 wishlist additions!

An another milestone has been reached! It's over 15000 Steam wishlist additions now, this is getting really big!

Why is it so important? If you're adding the game to your wishlist on Steam, you'll be notified about all changes to its release state. In other words, once released, Street Tuning Evolution will get a solid player base automatically. More players - more feedback for improving the game and more revenue to cover the costs for this.

Previews of the new garage building

It's been a long time without news here on Patreon, since we've been posting in our Discord a lot, but what if you're a newcomer here? It would be right to keep you in touch too!

Good news, the new garage building is coming!

Oh wait... why do we need a garage again? Old garage was nice, but it's too small for our player, because he can walk around and explore it! Also, it didn't have any ...

New Patreon tiers

I've received several requests about introducing a $25 tier, so I decided to split an expensive $100 tier into $25 and $50 ones.  Ultimate tier still remains something special, it's the highest reward I can currently afford for you.
