Farewell Cows, Hello Patrons!
Let me tell you, June was a real blur. As you know the FINAL FANTASY XIV series ended up being pushed back to help clean up some of the translations and it just so happened that the week it was pushed back into was the week of E3. So you can imagine how fun that was. Well actually you won't have to imagine, but I recorded a bunch of it. That behind-the-scenes videos is the tip of the content spear™ Noclip will be driving into your unsuspecting toros this month.
The other thing that happened in June was a hell of a lot of planning our next series. The next project is a real doozy, involving some international filming, the most interviews we've ever conducted, the longest shoot we've ever undertaken, and a live event. Due to the expense involved I was frantically trying to get another developer in the region to let us interview them but so far my efforts have been met with silence.
I eventually decided to use that energy to pursue another project that I've been trying to put together since before I started Noclip, and that came through. So before we fly off to do the big doc, we're stopping off in a rather random American state to record something very strange indeed. I can't wait to tell you all about it. You shouldn't have to wait long, and you'll hear about it before we announce it publicly.
All that filming begins at the end of this month, so what do you have to look forward to this month? Don't worry. Quite a bit.
Noclip Sessions
This month will feature a couple of Noclip Sessions videos. One of them is all about Thumper, I can promise that. I'm undecided on what the others will be. Might put it up to a patron vote. Keep your eyes peeled.
E3 Behind The Scenes ($5 Patrons)
This will be live in the next few days. Basically me editing FINAL FANTASY videos, hassling Tim Schafer and trying to walk through the biggest E3 crowds I've ever seen.
*******point
The new op-ed show has a name. It's coming this month. I'll also be announcing all the Patron-exclusive benefits on this one. Think early access & credits.
Kinda Funny Games Daily
I'm co-hosting the Kinda Funny daily games podcast this month. You can watch it over on their Twitch Stream around 11:45AM Pacific, or their YouTube Channel after the fact. I'm seriously excited about talking about games on a live-show again, and getting out of the house a few times a week is going to be great for my general wellbeing.
Preparing for First Birthday
There's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes to prepare for our first birthday on September 12th. All the content promises we made will be fulfilled by that date (hey, remember the podcast feed?) and a whole bunch of exciting new things will be announced too.
Q&A / Hangout
The usual double dose of Hangout and Patron Q&A will be coming this month too. I'm going to wait until we've spilled the beans on our next project so expect them towards the end of the month.
June was a great month for us. The FINAL FANTASY XIV series was our second most successful for views ever (DOOM is in the millions so it's gonna be hard to catch. I think the next one will though.) Personally I feel really happy about that series as I proved to myself I could tackle a game I had no prior experience with. Hearing people being brought to tears by their story (especially developers apparently) was incredible too. I think we set a new watermark with that series, and we're gonna continue to keep raising it.
As ever, thank you so much for all your support. Yesterday I spent an absolute fortune on 7 flights and accommodation for this next round of filming. None of these stories happen without you, so you should feel incredibly proud of yourselves for all the work that comes out of Noclip.
July is gonna be fun. Videos inbound.
