New Patreon Membere here. Loving all of this! As a suggestion as to easier content, I would love some in-depth makeup tutorials. Your transformations are absolutely stunning! Thank you for all that you do!! 🌸🌸🌸

Heather Hakel

I’m from NZ and I’ll be attending Armageddon Expo 🥰 Can’t wait! Some “easier” content could possibly be videos where you do outfits inspired by characters or aesthetics. In the past, they’ve been really enjoyable and fun!

Evie Birch

With the building of stuff, totally use Nick as a resource if that's how you guys relationship. When I moved into my house 4 years ago, I didn't realize there was a feral cat population in the area. I started taking care of the ones that lived in my yard and wanted to build them a shelter. Is it wonky? Yes. Does it work? Also yes. Have the cats complained? Not that I've heard I also ended up taking in two kittens from a neighbor and keeping them. I decided I needed a catio so they could safely go outside. When I realized how expensive they were, I ended up learning how to make one based off a catio company's YouTube shorts. I used the wrong screws and brackets at first (my brother advised me of the right kind) and he helped me build the base, but after that I ended up finishing the rest off by myself. Again, it's not perfect but the cats love it and I'm so proud I accomplished it... and saved probably 2-3 grand! So I say, just start! You'll make mistakes but you'll learn from them and be so glad you started!

Amber Fischer

I’d love to see your bigger projects broken down into multiple videos so you can have more time to work on them, if that helps with your planning. Like doing a prop in one video and sewing a costume in another and then building your set or going to a location and taking photos in a third. More like a series, along the lines of what Bernadette does for her bigger projects. As far as simpler content, I know others have mentioned, watching you paint is really interesting, as are your trying a new craft or making a little felt creature ones! I’ve been following since the face awards started and have watched all the YouTube content so much that I finally had a little spare funds to join the fellowship and am eating up the content here. Anything you want to put out we will support! 🖤

Heather Sims

You ever wonder if being around so much foam might be harmful to your health? Just a nervous thought ❤️

Foxwood Vi

Idea for vid: Rachel Reviews Theme Park sets and costumes. ✨️

Foxwood Vi

I absolutely love your painting videos! Especially where you go out to the special nature hideaways and paint the scenery. It's so magical, wholesome, and cozy! That could be a smaller scale video <3

Ellie Fargis

I don't expect it'll be much help with your costumes, but with items that can be worn on the daily/regular (like in your own personal, day-to-day wardrobe) and you're concerned about them getting thrown out when donating them to a thrift store like Goodwill or Savers, you could check if there are any homeless or women's shelters in your area and see what kinds of clothing they're in need of!

Kelsey Ward

I feel like your videos of trying a new craft are easy videos that definitely bring a New audience because people search for all types of tutorials. You could make jewelry inspired by fiction, stained glass, miniature, crochet or sewed little guys...

Guillemaud Lili

I'd love more photos here in the fellowship between videos! Photo dumps of life or the occasional early peek at a photoshoot 👀 nothing big or crazy

Shannen Brouner

Idk if that dollhouse is precious to you or not but smaller projects could be redoing one room at a time or something!

Caroline Mercer

try more shoe making? oh oh oh or book binding!

Syntella Vaughn

Oooooh workshops! I would SO sign up!

Eugenia Snyder

I love your room makeovers, costumes, character makeup, needle felting, pretty much everything you do. Themed environment decorator, just send me the date. I need to age/hobbitize my sewing room! I love all of your videos and I’m happy to be on this journey with you!

Eugenia Snyder

My friend JUST opened a D&D/Fantasy coffee shop called “Merfolk’s Specialty Coffee” out here in Austin and also has plans to roast his own beans!! I should get you his contact info so you can pick his brain!!

BeccaPeppermintz

Well I guess I'll have to take my first ever holiday to the US from Nottingham, UK when this amazing café get's up and running! I would LOVE that :)

Eve

You should see if you can donate the costume pieces to a local theatre!! I’m sure they’d get use out of them! I mean don’t get me wrong, if I went to a thrift store and found a cloak… I’d buy it and treasure it! But I definitely think they’d get a lot of use in shows 😀

Aleya Rose

I'm sure others are out there doing it, but I've just recently been seeing the kind of interior decorating/ styling videos that Caroline Winkler does for (I assume local) subscribers. People would flip for an opportunity to work with you on a similar concept with your whimsical diy flair. Might be a more manageable place to start than businesses? *shrug* but I'm on the west coast anyway, so I won't push the idea tooo much lol.

Shannen Brouner

And school theatre departments!

Shannen Brouner

Personally, you're one of a few creators I follow who could post anything and I'll engage because if it's worth it to you to film, it's worth it to me to watch. I'm here because of you, not your individual creations. And so so many other viewers are too. I understand why it's very scary and risky to change up your schedule, but I think you'd still find success even when giving yourself extra time to make videos, or by splitting some projects into multiple parts/videos to give yourself the appropriate time to make the project. And I'll even throw this out there: so many people would love to see you give yourself a break around autumn/maksoween because we know you love it so much but that you sacrifice big time for content's sake. and you don't have to to keep us around. I promise. You deserve to enjoy the season. I hope 2025 offers you lots of opportunity to give yourself grace without making you feel insecure about your job/ income ♡

Shannen Brouner

Also, maybe a reading of vintage/classic short stories, I love your voice.

Candance Donaldson

Yes! I said the same thing. I love when she does the hairstyles and recreations.

Candance Donaldson

Love the content. I've been watching you since you decided to go full time years ago. you asked so: I would love to see you reacting to maybe old time-y stories/videos, etc. For example, I love when you made the video when you recreate the halloween outfits, an when you reviewed the old time Christmas cards. I also love the hair recreation videos. I agree with other patrons about breaking up the video into multiple parts. I could totally get into that!!! It would also allow you to put more detail/concentration into your projects--I love them already, but you mention a few times that you'd like more time.

Candance Donaldson

I think this space is wonderful! If I could ask for something to be added, it would definitely be a discord exclusive to the patreon members. Sharing sewing projects, getting creative advice, chatting about all the things!

Cailleach Shannon

You could also do designs inspired by your favorite makes/builds. For instance, paint your Spiderman cat on a pair, do an homage to your ✨little guys✨, reference your Little Women collab from 2020, make a pair to match your bedroom reno, etc.

Lacey Harder

There was a photoshoot retreat back in August that you were involved in, and I really wanted to go to it but it was juuuust out of my budget at the time! so i'd love to know if you have any plans to perhaps do something else like that this year. I'm an illustrator but this year im focusing more on cosplay as my hobby so I'd love to try to go to the next one!

Mary Ashe

This might not be the mist helpfully, but litteraly I always click on all Rachel Maksy videos I see. And I put them on as comfort videos in the background. I remember rly liking the meme painting video, or just talking or styling videos. I'd watch anything, it doesn't need to be a make/crafting video

CecilSharkShork

You should look into getting involved with a local community theater if you have one. They may want help with prop/set fabrication and you might even be able to hand off some costumes and other things that you aren’t going to use.

Katie Kat

💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤

Mama Turtle

Easy video ideas- I would absolutely watch videos that are a throwback to the pinup days. What's your go to make up look rn? Fun hairstyles you've been experimenting with? We love a big build, but I'll always watch a GRWM /tutorial type video from you.

Rachel Sturm

You should make (and decorate!) a dedicated "armory" space for all your cosplay armor and weapons. :) Display cases, armor stands, fancy banners...etc.

BlameMyMuses

I’d love to see videos of steps of bigger projects and then a final reveal video

Amy Lyons

I love all your videos, I really like your commentary so I would totally listen to you review a movie, book, game really anything. Love your home reno projects and all things whimsy. I'd also love to see how you would decorate for a themed party, any kind adult or kid. That collab sounds cool.

Hope Bell

Breaking projects into multiple parts would be really fun! I don't think any of us would mind seeing Part 1/ Part 2/ Part 3 of larger projects in order to give you more time to complete awesome projects!

Emily Preuss-Anderson

Late to the party, but love the vibe of kindness in 2025 Ideas for new videos of videos I'd watch?? How to do videos on getting into video making on yt? Like, Filming your "makes" and best practices that you've gathered over your time on the tube? As an artist I struggle to know where to start filming my painting 🥴 Id love to see sewing projects for masc bodies! If your bestie would be interested in being in videos. There are so few videos showing that and my NB partner is trying to learn how to sew, I know they'd love it! More little guys all the waAAAYYyy!!! LOL

Katherine Cook

How about transforming the loft into a wizard-y storage room. I'm feeling like a wizard supply store. Diagon alley theme?

Kaye Barnes

I for one would not be upset by episodes with multiple parts. I would like camouflaged organizers, fun ways to display my art/ costumes, thrift and flip, visible mending. those are a few things i would watch but truth be told I am here because i enjoy you as a person the only thing i wouldn't like about you playing video games is if you were quiet the whole time, I like how your brain sees things :)

Chelsea aka criminal gelato

macabredarklingwanders on insta use to own a coffee shop and is open to talking business experience

Chelsea aka criminal gelato

I love the idea of a Victorian coffee shop! I've been running my own business for 16 years. Speaking with a business advisor and a financial advisor will be the first hurdle, but I know you guys will crush it. ❤️

Rhiannon Harmston

I noticed in some of these comments and wanted to add to the folks saying splitting main channel videos into two parts for the big big projects is a great idea!! It would hopefully keep the pressure off of you to also have “something small/easy” going on in the background of the big project and the people will certainly come back for more to see your finished product! And this may be more of a Patreon video but if you evrr want to do like a “Knick knack tour” or something like that, I love looking around in the back of your videos and finding neat little things sitting on shelves and wondering where you got them!

Danielle E.

I love the going to the thrifstore buying tiny knick knacks an restyling them. 🫶

FlorDieguez

I dunno. I love the longer-form content where you're just talking and being whimsy. I wouldn't mind breaking up the process of longer projects into parts and taking us along for the ride :)

Jasmine C

Totally agree, I am happy to watch an "in progress" video!

Marie Vaughn

In regard to doing 'themed renovations' for others, what you actually do is much much closer to set building or set dressing, i know that photographers and other creatives like indie film-makers would be so into your whimsical themes

Grub ♡

PS - i LOVE watching your less serious crafty kinds of projects too and your collabs. I'm not sure if those are easier to plan, but I'd be okay with more of them!

Angela K

Ideas for shorter videos: I love your creativity and whimsy you pull into your projects, but you and your funny/fun personality is what really brings the magic! I would actually love to see you split up your projects into multiple weeks and take us along for the journey. You don't need to have a fully completed project at the end of your video. Much love!

Angela K

I absolutely loved NZ Hobbiton was such a dream.

Sarena Hempling

I'm slightly late to the party, but when I have something I've made that I want to get rid of I'll usually stuff it back into my fabric stash if I think I can use the fabric for a future project. If not, I usually donate things via Trashie bags because anything they can't actually donate gets recycled instead of thrown away which is nice.

Averie K. Fraser

Happy 2025!! You have such a lovely presence that even the videos where you only talk are fun to watch. Easyish DIY projects that we can also make to bring more whimsy to our lives would be great. Like craft alongs. Book stacks from foam is a great idea, I am sure you have many more :)

Ebru Yucetin

2025, the best is yet to come! (And I'd be still excited to see big projects broken into parts if that's easier for you)

Holly Neal

50% off for February would be awesome, I just had to cancel my membership, because I just got fired, due to bad economy. I really appreciate that u want to make more substantial content, I always love to see more upcycling and making useful things! An idea for less time intensive videos could be sewing handbags/backpacks/ medival tie on pockets. Personally I really enjoy making waist/hip bags for myself with faux leather, matching my outfits, because I can't wear handbags. Generally sewing different whimsical accessories might be fun. And I also love organizing videos. But I always enjoy ur content.

Josi K

A Victorian themed coffee shop sounds absolutely amazing. I would legitimately travel over from the U.K. to visit such a place 👀❤️

Lucy McLaren

I appreciate you wanting to do projects that most people can attempt and even afford. I used to be a patron of another well known maker and they took a turn into only making projects for their literal mansion. They use tools and supplies that the average American cannot afford and I started to resent them and I ended up dropping their Patreon for my own mental health. I started following you a few years ago because of your sewing content. I am proficient at it but there is always something to learn. Seeing a person who is teaching themselves the craft they’re attempting always gives a new prospective. You bring innovation from other parts of your creativity and I find it refreshing to watch! You make videos that are fun, informative, and your giddiness at making fun things is absolutely infectious! I am rooting for your new endeavors and I hope that your coffee shop dream starts this year! I also hope that your collaborations with other creative people becomes a thing! I love seeing communities form and work together.

Jennifer Kavjian

how dare patreon hide this from me for over a week, i am starving!

jasposaurus

I think you make fun videos no matter what they're about! I like unboxing and thrifting videos a lot. Something about that kind of content scratches my hoarder dragon brain just right! Show and tell videos about different collections (books, fabric, home decor, tools, whatever) could be fun, too. Personally, I’d absolutely enjoy multiple part videos on the same project or adjusting your uploading schedule to allow more time for certain projects! Not a big deal to me but I get that The Algorithm must be appeased as well, lol.

Anna

Have you heard of the Mothman Festival that's in Point Pleasant West Virginia? It happens every year in September, lots of people dress up as their own versions of Mothman.

MicaelaHope

I would watch 2 videos that equaled one big project! Also, you look so happy when you are traveling with your buddies. One of my favorite videos of yours is the spooky tours! No matter what you have to take care of yourself first! Anyone that doesn’t understand that and follow you no matter what (like me) can suck it! Happy New Year, sweet lady! Also, please post update on Frodo! I miss him and hope he is doing okay. ❤️‍🩹💕🥰

Heather Munoz

Yes ranking video! Don't have to make a new outfit, love to hear what you've learned, and it's a cool way to get any new viewers to check out older content, OR just remind us oldies of good times and probably rewatch old eps.

Lo Lla

Hey have you seen Hilda? Her fox deer Twig is adorable. Maybe that could be an idea. Maybe a spun cotton Twig❣️

GoldBug27

Hi Rachel, I reeeeeeeally liked your gaming livestream, and I would love to see more of that! About easy video ideas here is what I think: "Ranking the costumes that I made"; "Turning Frodo (my dog) into Frodo" (not sure it's easy); "Living like a hobbit for a day"; "I tried ...(weird/ from another country/ from my childhood)... food"; "Spend a day with me doing my favorite things" (drinking coffee, spending time in nature...); "Sewing clothes for Edwardian/Hobbit Barbie doll." Also, it could be some funny cooking videos, maybe even trying something really hard or an Edwardian recipe/ family recipe. Thank you for your content, I wish you a happy New Year!

Nancy

I'm new! Yaaaayy! So happy to be supporting you. You're gonna have an amazing year 💛 💖

Susan Flawn

Jedi is an easy costume, that can be broken into multiple videos, and I happen to have some exquisite leather that I skinned from a couch that would compliment your hair that I'm willing to ship to you.

Hawk Worley

Cleaning is enjoyable with a friend. Thank you for the reminder of what we see and the reality of it. I love to hear about your hopes, dreams and goals. You’re a cool chick for thirty two. I just turned 59 and still think I’m in my twenties! You’ve come to knowing yourself and limits. That took me forever. Oh I loved seeing your mom when she cut your hair. Maybe some guest visits from her or your besty. Thank you for sharing your talent and let me tell you lady you have it along with your silliness and being real with us. Love ya & here’s to a year full of wonderful surprises, good health and peace.

GoldBug27

I’d love to see you customise a pair of sneakers or similar using leather paint (Angelos is a great brand), and sort of… mossify them, or knightify them? Comfy shoes but painted to be ✨aesthetic✨ I think you’d be able to knock a pair out in a day easy, plus it would be amazing to see your take on it!!

Emelie James

I love your old hobbit hair and makeup videos, you could do more of those for different fantasy looks :) I’d also love a video of you going to a woodworking class or something and your woodworking journey :) I cried so hard at hobbiton haha

Samantha Gray

I would love to see more videos of you simply in nature or at historic areas. I loved the video of you painting in the woods and the one where you went to a Pilgrim Living History site and baked with them

Grace Reid

When you're working on BIG projects, I know I wouldn't mind a part 1 & part 2! Then you can work on it for a month and not have to stress about having a smaller video to also make time for/focus on

Zoë McNett

I don’t know if it would qualify as an ‘easier’ video, but the “little guy” series of small makes is constantly in my rewatch rotation. I would watch 5000 of those!

Katie Pautler

okkk also kinda a far out idea but you were mentioning if you got invited to special events you’d have a reason to wear some things, what if you hosted a fantasy ball or something? Would love to see how you decorate the space and would give a great excuse to wear some fun costumes

Bonnie Mullins

I really like seeing the seasonal hair/makeup videos! Very whimsical and fun 🧚🏼✨

Bonnie Mullins

oh and an actually easy idea would be a makeup and hair look like the pre-Raphaelite inspired one

Frida von Karstedt

I don't know if that would be an "easy" video to make or one that would be interesting for new viewers, but I would love to see you remaking, updating, perfecting old costumes or builds that you weren't quite happy with. Maybe that could also be combined with making something that's just lying around more wearable and useful!

Frida von Karstedt

I really love your "dress up as something" aesthetics/characters/book vibes etc. You don't need to make anything for it 🙂

Katrine Skovgaard Rasmussen

You have so many fans, you should auction some of the content creations for charity. I miss the videos where you just 'made a few hobbity clothes' I loved that content too.

Acerbicwit

Cooking videos!

Samantha Stroderd

Thank you for this! I put this video on and started tidying my sewing room, which is an utter disaster after our NYE show (which required all my biggest and poofiest costumes). Just the motivation I needed In terms of achieving some of your goals, my partner is a home improvement contractor, licensed in MA, specializing in Victorians, and I'm sure he'd be happy to discuss renovations and the like. Also, one of my friends just opened a tea room in NH (which has some rather whimsical decor btw). I could put you in touch if you wanted to talk about her experiences with that sort of business. Anyway, ping me if you want to be connected with either one.

Mina Murray

For an easy video I love your painting videos. with just cozy music and some whimsical B role.

Abagael Baldwin

Consider doing a little patreon auction or giveaway for your cosplay clearout things! If you do an auction, you could use the proceeds for home reno or your coffee shop!

Carol B

What I love about you Rachel os that you just give stuff a go..ibreallynlike home renovation stuff myself. I woukd say if you could partner with someone the sorry girls are amazing and think if you don't know about them you would really like them. Also easy videos..yiublove whimsy and folklore and reading..how about just videos where you share something you have learnt. Or book reviews and recommendations are always good as people who follow you have the same mindset so will probably enjoy what you do xx

Dani G

My dream house would be a whimsical masterpiece by you. Also, I have watch you for many years and will continue no matter the content. Thank you very much for shining so bright.

Suzanne Binion

I think the ride-on raccoon could be a good project for a multi-video series so you can take time and focus on details of the process.

Anna O.

The problem with suggesting videos I would click on… I see your name and I click

A_Shireling

Another set of easy video ideas: take all your old costumes (ex: the pride and prejudice and zombies) and do a GRWM! Then, maybe challenge the brain and ask yourself how you could use it for a different cosplay/costume. Kind of a mash up of how you used to create costumes out of your wardrobe, just with the costume base and a "but make it vintage." EX: Pride and prejudice and zombies costume: show us how you did your makeup, then, once you're all ready, take stuff from your current closet and make it 1920s P&P&Z or 1940s P&P&Z. etc I'd also love a video going through all of your old costumes!

Ivy Sudweeks

You should 100000% take all the time you need and do longer projects with multi-part videos. We just love the chaotic crafting and you as a person.

Madelaine Smith

Thank you for a whole year of videos, Rachel! We are so grateful for you and your plans are super exciting! For future videos I would be so on board for 2-part projects, tutorials for any and all artistic techniques, or even watching you learn new skills! It sounds like you have so many ideas already and the main thing for us is just to watch your creativity shine without you feeling so much pressure! 💕

Babs

Yaaaaaaas! Wood working is one of my goals to learn this year too!

Mandie Alves

Please open the Victorian coffee shop!! It would give me a bucket list destination! Wishing all the best! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳

TheVictorianFae (Alisha)

Karolina Zebrowska has been making update videos of her flat every several months and they're a fun format - we get to see what she's bought, painted, made, where she's put this or that, etc. Part tour, part documentary. It'd be fun to see how the barn and house have changed over the last year!

Ellisa Clumpner

Oooh, what about a collab with Mercury Stardust, the Trans Handy Ma'am? Especially if you're sharing the process of learning something practical, like mounting shelves that you've made with your new woodworking skills?

Ellisa Clumpner

My daughter and I are going to the Nashville con on that Saturday. This is the first one we have ever been to and are so excited. Also, the aesthetic isn’t cozy Victorian, but The Literary in Champaign, IL sounds like the vibe you want in a coffee shop! It’s half coffee shop half bookstore and has cozy couches, a fireplace, lots of eclectic decor, and hosts tons of local, inclusive events. It’s one of our favorite places in town.

Rachel Geist

I feel like as long as there's a clear goal and a sense of accomplishment at the end of each video, it would work!

Ellisa Clumpner

Little guys trading cards! Aw, Cuuuuuute

Ellisa Clumpner

I recently learned that some retirement homes and homeless shelters ask for people to send in cards - not only for holidays, but through the year. It could be a one-day project with a purpose, and the end product has a destination so won't pile up!

Ellisa Clumpner

I second this motion

Ellisa Clumpner

Agree agree agree

Ellisa Clumpner

*gasp * a diorama of the coffee shop!

Ellisa Clumpner

such a cute idea

Ellisa Clumpner

Yes! I was thinking of a recent project Sewstine did where she posted the making of a skirt and bodice of a gown separately. It worked great because there was a clear goal and a sense of completion at the end of part 1, but you knew there was more to come!

Ellisa Clumpner

Yes! I know I have clothes that I'd like to upgrade a little or alter or add touches to, and it'd be motivating to see how Rachel does it!

Ellisa Clumpner

Yes, love upcycling / alteration projects

Ellisa Clumpner

I loved how, especially 4-5 years ago, you made sewing videos even though you didn't feel super confident as a sewist. It was so inspiring to watch you learn and improve! (And it influenced me to sew clothes even though I was intimidated!) I think similar videos showing you learning and improving wood working knowledge and skills would be great! I love learning along, seeing the struggles, and, ultimately, successes with new skills. Other ideas: - video of adding pockets to existing clothing (whether store-bought, thrifted, or homemade) - fem Stede please! (*sudden brainwave: WhAt iF you built something like a treasure chest with new wood working skills and then did a fem Stede photoshoot with it? Yes? No?)

Ellisa Clumpner

Whenever you and Nick open your coffee shop, wherever I am living, I will personally fly to Massachusetts and visit your shop. I will enjoy so many delicious treats and delicious coffee beverages. As far as things in the new year, if you’re going with woodworking, I’d love to see wand making. Using a lathe to make your own wand and various other wooden knickknacks would be adorable.

A-Myriad-of-Stars

Cosigning on this! Great suggestion!

Laura Guebert

Okay, another idea that is highly debatable on the level of ease, but I really enjoy your videos where you have taken clothes that you don't wear anymore for one reason or another and transformed them into a new garment. Love the sustainability and helps me as the viewer imagine projects that would otherwise never occur to me.

Laura Guebert

Absolutely just spitballing here in the middle of the video, but when you mentioned the whimsical book stack idea, the lightbulb in my brain went off. What if you made a shelf for this, but to sell the illusion, you could paint the horizontal planes like bookspines to make them fit more seamlessly with the actual books on the shelf? You could paint the vertical planes either black or else recess them so they're only half as wide as the shelf itself to really make it look like they're stacked naturally/floating. If that makes any sense at all...In other news though, I go absolutely feral over any and all home reno videos you do (are your bedroom video and your kitchen video two of my go to comfort videos? Who's to say...).

Laura Guebert

I would enjoy seeing you go back to old projects and upgrading them or adding finishing touches that you didn't get to do in the original video! You often share ideas of how you might improve your project during the wrap-up section of the video, so it would be cool to see you go back and actually implement the suggestions you've mentioned.

Gracey Belote

I've absolutely loved your videos where you make a Little Guy (i.e. Mouse Knight). If those are easier/less time consuming for smaller projects, I'd love to see more Little Guys.

Emma Galloway Stephens

Happy New Year Rachel! 🎉❤️ For bigger projects, what if you did part 1 and part 2 videos. That way you can keep with your schedule for uploading but it takes some of the pressure off. Also just taking a week off sometimes is totally valid. I think it’s safe to say most of us would watch anything you put out. I also love your fashion videos. ❤️

Shelby

I love these chat videos lol but I would love to see more of those thrift makeover videos if you want to do more small videos. I also wouldn't mind seeing multi-part project videos if you're going to be working on a large project like your ridable raccoon XD.

FenMura

Happy New Year from the UK! Excited for all your plans for this coming year and I have really loved seeing everything you have made this year. You sitting in front of your big gingerbread house made me think you could do a series on concentrating on a room at a time? Also, I am very happy paying full price for your content, no discount needed - consider it back pay for the hours of enjoyment over the last 5 years! Much love X

Katy Noon

1) vlog getting your hair done at a salon (especially if you get extensions) 2) Every kind of home-related content you can think of, like renovations, decor makeovers, cleaning, organizing, sourcing decor, landscape makeover, etc 3) Chit-chats and GRWM 4) FASHION! Recreating outfits, buying and reviewing from moderately expensive quality brands, and a shoe video would be really helpful. I’m struggling to find vintage shoes (especially lace up boots without a heel) 5) Vlogs with friends, daily vlogs (nothing has to happen, it’s just nice to virtually hang out with someone) 6) Story time alone or with friends 7) We listen and we don’t judge 8) Beauty content - tutorials, reviews 9) Currently (what you’re reading, watching, playing, etc) 10) _______ with me: journal, paint, clean, etc. Just being a no-pressure extra presence to an activity

Joey Joseph

You have mentioned Nerdforge multiple times. As a Norwegian - and lover og all things whimsical - that would be my dream colab!

Ildrid Nerbu

Painting anything, gardening or yard stuff in general, home reno, thrift hauls, exploring historic areas nearby, trying new recipes...I'd watch any of these.

Sarah

I think painting tutorials could be good, like a Bob Ross thing. You dress up nice and pretty, go to a park, sit down and paint your little thing. Take us through the way you paint, why you use which colours when. If you do a few of them, we could get ourselves a little painting book to join or try following on the computer along with you. As soon as you said Beatrix Potter Ballet, I had to pause and check that out. What do you mean there is a Beatrix Potter ballet?

The Band Wagon

I don't know if it has been suggested yet, but what about making a (sustainability project) hobbit themed quilt from your fabric scraps? You could even use fabric from the costumes that you made to wear once and can give those fabrics another repurpose into something functional and can still have the memories of said projects. It could be extra cute for your hobbit guestroom!

Savannah Stillman

I actually like the idea of you teaching us things. Like painting classes, sculpting classes, and the like. That would be cool!

Megan

Vibe is so important in the hospitality world, and you are SO right about the lack of it in the US right now!! I'm from the US but I've been an operations manager for a vintage/historic pub company in northern England (Liverpool) the last 5 years, and I've learned over time how incredibly important it is to pay attention to and regularly maintain every detail to keep your vision consistent, especially in the vintage world. You will 100% knock it out of the park, dude. You've got such a beautiful passion for what you do!!

Mary Jane King

I know they're chaotic but your baking videos are a ton of fun. And your videos are always so soothing; maybe a cozy day vlog where you take us along for the day, almost like a lifestyle vlog.

Ashley

Yes more little ones! Like felting or jewelry/ accessories.

Rachal Pollard

When you need more time on a project but need a video maybe a discussion on different fashion of periods? I also loved your videos of putting you in movie scenes using things you already had or the video where you went to pretty places and watercolored. Also I wouldn't mind multi part videos if the project takes a month have a half way video and a end video for your two videos that month.

Nicole Coan

Also more Little Guys!! and maybe a diorama of the coffee shop??

Allie Buckley

I'd love to see "redos" of the outfits or costumes you've made that you haven't liked! Going back in and discussing what you didn't like about it, if you made mistakes, and then improving it to a point where you could either wear or sell it!

Allie Buckley

I’d love to see videos of you learning woodworking! Like you could make a whimsical chair/bench, or even a small knickknack/thread shelf or something, and if it ends up being a bigger project you could make a series! I too want to learn to woodwork and would love to learn along side :) And for easier videos, maybe some more outfits! Like everyday outfits, outfits you’d wear if you lived a week as a hobbit, updated dark academia, etc. Your outfit videos are some of my favorites! I also rewatched your older “random generator aesthetics” video and absolutely died at the suggestions from the generator. “Quiet piece of shit” speaks to me.

Taylor Thompson

Well, depending on the length I'd go with something like bracelets, belts, borders on cloaks or viking style clothes.

CantFindMyFace

I’ve been having a go at tablet weaving but I don’t know what to do with the completed bands!

Katy Beaumont

The coffee shop idea sounds amazing and so exciting. I’d love to watch the process of putting it together too.

Katy Beaumont

Happy New Year to you! You've made me laugh when I needed to laugh in that year that just passed that we won't say by name.....thank you!

AngieB

Rachel -to me you are the cool and intimidating interior designer/home renovation expert :) I wish I was a creative as you are. Whatever you do, and how ever often you post about it...I will love watching it.

Johanna Henderson

Also, I loved the Ferris Buller speech at the end.

Lizz Kopta

Low effort video ideas: expand the Little Guys universe! You could make them characters and build a whole cast. You have a mouse knight and a hillbilly frog. Maybe they are a tiny D&D party? For home renovations, there a a couple of budget and renter friendly designers on TikTok who you might be able to partner with? That would be cool as a collaboration. Can't wait to see what 2025 brings from your channel. The rest of the coming year gives me anxiety, but at least I have your corner of the interwebs to come back to when thongs are scary.

Carly Black

I admit I really respect and admire the makeup transformations! Instead of making the whole outfit every time, how about you make a really cool frame to shoot your reveals?

Thea Maia

I love th ideas of your big projects! Perhaps you could break them into multiple videos as short series'? For something like the riding racoon maybe 1) design/plan/shop 2) racoon structure 3) racoon cover & legs 4) costume & reveal Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2025! Your plans sound like Iovely. 💜

Amanda Tyacke

Oooh! I thought I’d another. How about painting the pages of your books? Sprayed edges with details! This might be something I attempt this year, myself. 🤩

Kekibird

Yeah I think if you have any HUGE projects that might take a month or so, personally I'd be more tha happy to watch it all broken up into parts, that way you have more time to work on stuff? Though it might make the video editing process more arkward? Or honestly anything like walks, painting, gardening, baking, decorating, embroidery ect.. for smaller projects? Literally anything girl, we'll watch it! :D Happy New Year!

Ashley-Rae Ridsdel-Brown

Yeah, I’m totally down with this idea. I don’t mind a two or three parter! Just give us little updates! It might not bring a ton of new people, and we all know how people feel about two parts, but ✨I✨ wouldn’t mind! 😝

Lizz Kopta

Small project idea: face painting! Like, little kid at the fair face paint. Look up some fun tutorials, maybe do three or four… I think it could be whimsical and silly and bring in maybe some different people looking for that type of face paint tutorial? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lizz Kopta

Fully support you doing big projects or simply taking the time needed to complete any project so that you’re happy with it over multiple videos. I enjoy all of your content, and I feel like this community you’ve built also feels the same. I look forward to anything you put out, and have thoroughly enjoyed all variety of content. Just do you and we’ll follow <3

Stacey Rice

Would be cool to see you do some tablet weaving. It's something I've been meaning to pick up myself to make viking/Scandinavian belts and/or for the edge of one of my cloaks (thanks for the cloaks video btw!).

CantFindMyFace

WAIT ok for a big project... A doll house version of your coffee shop?! This way you can start planning it out in an attainable way and then we can see the cutest lil miniatures

Emily Bocchino

Two parter videos seconded! Also "easy" wise - but make it vintage (butt naked vintage) I know is not really as much your style anymore but seems like a good one or something similar to it might be something!

Emily Bocchino

Would LOVE to get behind scenes on what goes into creating/decorating/running a coffee shop in the future. All for you both achieving your long term business dreams!! And getting to add said Victorian Coffee Shop to a East Coast bucket list when I visit one day:)

lindsey buras

Happy New Year! I also think it would be cool to see big projects broken down into several videos. For easier/shorter content, I always enjoy make-up transformations and making ”little guys”.

Elsa

I have an idea for costumes! I went to a poor high school who didn’t have any money to contribute to our drama club. We had to source or ask people to let us borrow costumes all the time (or try to sew something ourselves). I know some other drama clubs would LOVE to have some of your old costumes for them to be used as is or reworked a bit.

Paige 🌻🍄🌼🦉

Have you ever though of doing auctions for some of the items you've made and donating the money?

Rebecca Noy

Also thank you so much for yet another year of amazingly talented and whimsical content 🙏🏻❤️✨

Aoife Fealy

Happy New Year! 🥳 🎉🥂 Video wise, I think breaking your bigger projects into multiple videos will give you more time AND give us more of an insight to the process. Like I would have loved to see the process of Karlach in more detail, even a single video on you making the straps, and then another on you styling the wig (just examples!) the whole project definitely doesn't need to be in one video! 👍🏻 Cafe dream wise, I would highly recommend you going to work in a coffee shop. I know you are super busy and your plate is already packed full but honestly, from experience, the best way to understand how a business works is working in that business. I opened an art and craft shop a few years ago (it was just a pop-up, I only opened from Halloween to Christmas but I loved it!) and I honestly wouldn't have been able to do it without the retail management experience I already had. At least go do a barista course in an actual coffee shop, not just an online one, the hands on experience will be invaluable. Maybe you won't be able to do it this year, but I genuinely think it's the best experience you're going to get, even if it's only 1 day a week. Good luck! ✨

Aoife Fealy

I would love to watch two-parter videos of your bigger projects 😍 Also would love to watch cooking / baking, re-decorating rooms, q/a's, cleaning videos like this, maybe decorating other peoples spaces if that would be possible? Drawing videos, how to film and again cooking/baking 😄😄😄❤️❤️❤️

Ylva S

Definitely fist bumped you back! Here’s to 2025!

Sam

First off, I just want to say I discovered your channel in December, and I've been absolutely loving the content! I like the idea of modifying things from the thrift store and breathing new life into them, you could work with photography studios or theatre productions, maybe around a common theme. That way you can make sure everything is put to good use!

Rodrigo

Im pretty much new here I found your youtube through podcast and I love it. I came for sewing mainly and I stayed for your one day makes and cosplays and everything else, it already inspired me to do a lot creative things!

Andrea Riantová

Video idea: how to style thrift store finds in a whimsical way. Minimal effort in terms of making but could easily be a series of home reno type videos!

JTB

Love a lot of these, but esp the rag rug. That would be a great thing to make along with Rachel in a live stream!

Downtoinette

Video ideas: turn the costumes that you can't donate into other things (scrap fabric for stuff like trim/little guys/miniatures, clothes you'll wear, one day makes), fix costumes so you can donate/sell (fun way to revisit old projects, see what current Rachel would do differently), hair videos (modern vs. vintage, trying hairstyles from every decade), more integration between cons and youtube (so much room for content), cleaning and organizing videos

Susannah Starr

Would love to see any video involving little guys or thrift store remake/flip! Love when you make over thrift store goods!

Mikayla Furrh

I would love for you to document learning woodworking. I’ve always wanted to try it but wasn’t sure how to get into it 😅 But I’d love any videos of you learning a skill. I def think the expert videos are intimidating/overwhelming so seeing someone start from scratch would be amazing. 🥹❤️❤️

Tatiana

How about 'Rachel does mini things and decorates the rooms of her doll house while having a chat'

Kathryn Mulqueeney

I loved when you recreated those spider sugar cookies a while back, maybe cute seasonal baking videos/trying old timey or fictional recipes? I know not everyone's into food content but it's a thing that doesn't require days of work and can still have a fun theme/vibe

Cheyenne

Easy Video Ideas: Tour of Rachel’s Knick knacks Rachel learns to knit Rachel paints watercolors How to style a whimsical photo shoot Rachel learns to make candles Rachel recycles her fabric into a rag rug Rachel tries origami Rachel makes an old timey silhouette portrait of Frodo Rachel makes rubber stamps I know others have said it: it doesn’t matter much WHAT you’re doing, as long as it has your silly sense of humor, we’ll watch it!

Tyler Gualdoni

Please still do a femme Stede Bonnet cosplay! I can promise you all the gay pirate fandom will love you forever for it :D

Lyndzi Miller

I already commented and if this is already a thing then please ignore, but I would LOVE a library of .gif’s from your videos. You’re an amazing, funny creator and I love your humor

Elizabeth Park

I love the idea of you giving yourself enough time on a project in order to not feel constantly stressed and rushing. A month with your two videos being one big project and one teeny, whimsical if you’d like, blog or mini project you can do in an afternoon or two. I love all your videos and I’m here for YOU! No matter what content you create I will be there to consume it

Elizabeth Park

I would love to see you make some Valentine’s Day cards in your favorite aesthetic for a one-day-make video 🤍🌿 OR review odd vintage Valentine’s Day cards!

Elena H

When the time comes, I would love all the coffee shop content. Business plan, coffee drinks plans, decorating plans/ processes. But in the meantime, I think videos of learning skills would be fun. I don't think there is enough content of people learning something new. Pretty much I'm here for any and all the content Rachel makes lol.

Killedbyrabbits

Ooh! Also I'd love to see a video describing how you choose fabric to use for recycled stuff because I just used a table runner and my machine hated it haha

Jamie Vassar

I'd love to see a sketchbook tour and/or hear the stories behind stuff

Jamie Vassar

I had so many thoughts during this video so hopefully I remember some. First off these videos are weirdly a favorite of mine, I feel like I'm face timing a friend. As for the PPZ dress maybe dye it a dark colour and do some pirate/vampire -y stuff. A small project that I think would be cool is little creatures trading cards, and then maybe you could hand them out or sell them at cons? New Zealand is so close yet so far but I'm totally looking forward to following you around there. Happy new year of selfcare

Ms. Wendy Page

I definitely agree with others who said to look for local theater groups or schools for costumes. Attempting to bake whimsical creations would be so fun to watch! Also, watching you make whimsical items out of trash to decorate your house would be so cool! Make more little guys to decorate too. Also, all the talk about coffee shop makes me super excited for it! When you do start the hunt for a space it will be so cool to see the steps it takes to find, decorate, and the run up to the opening!

Claudia

Just a suggestion I know you probably won't take but you don't *have to* complete a project fully in a single video. You can just make multiple videos to cover your big projects. Besides being easier on you, it's also just more realistic that massive projects take up a lot of time.

Lindsey Metcalfe

You could do a big meetup of all your cosplay, costuming buddies and let them just pillage your giveaway pile. It would be a fun event for you, a fun video for us to watch and it will clear out a bunch of your castoffs. Also, easy video ideas....more little guys!!! ALL THE LITTLE GUYS!!!!!

Rachel Kelly

💛💛💛 excited to see everything you come up with the next year 😇

Aster_oid

Yes!!! Exactly haha

Aster_oid

I love all the great ideas here. I would enjoy seeing a wearing Vs styling outfit gallery, perhaps with Thred Up. I for one never envision the clothes how they turn out in a cool outfit with accessories from the 1 pic on a mannequin.

Amy Badger

Do you have fabric recycling in your area? Or Buy Nothing? (That last has an app). I've enjoyed discovering those ways of getting rid of things without worrying about landfills.

Marijean Rue

Also I had a lot of conversations with teens thusly: them “I’m going to a rave!” *misses 3 shifts* “*calls in to apologize* me: “I’m glad you’re ok! You’re still fired, but I’m so glad you aren’t dead!”

Ashlea H

We all here for Rachel painting along with Bob Ross with a little guy in her pocket in Bob Ross core

Jenny Rose

As someone who has lived in the area you live in, there are some areas where the only coffee options are dunkins or starbucks so a local coffee shop with aesthetic Victorian vibes is amazing. Also, I dig a closet cleanout for easier content and it is usually popular in springtime.

AJ Morse

We will fly to Massachusetts for Victorian Drag Night in casual armor at your coffee shop. My whole family is SO there!💖

Jenny Rose

Are you familiar with Caroline Winkler? She's been doing $0 room makeover videos, where she goes to a subscriber's house and redecorates a room in their home without spending any $$. She's in DC, so not sure if a collab makes sense, but the idea of going to a subscriber's place to Make Stuff That's Not Wood Look Like Wood in their space could be fun. (And if you're ever in Chicago... I volunteer to be that subscriber!)

Abby Dryer

My husband and I have been together for 25 years so I have so much stuff that I don’t want to get rid of or buy new stuff, so learning how to re-style things is so great.

Devori Kimbro

Love the home renovation idea! I’ve been all about cheap/easy home renovations that look more expensive thanks to you! Also upscaling/recycling content is always helpful.

Devori Kimbro

So excited to see you in NZ! I personally loved your videos where you go out in nature and paint a picture or something and chat, or document an experience - so relaxing and for o/s viewers great to see some surrounds! Your coffee shop sounds a dream! Our favourite cafe is a converted late 19th farm house and cottage garden which is what I call 'sweet old lady' aesthetic and its the BEST. Would love to visit your cozy cafe when we visit - the world needs more of them!

Emily

Hi Rachel ! For "smaller" videos I think baking could be fun (maybe trying out Victorian recipes for the coffee shop ?). And if you want to work on longer projects, I'd suggest doing multi parts videos. You can pace yourself, we get the content and there's an element of suspense that would make the reveal even more "wow". Hazariel Atelier has done this with her Chimera dress, she worked all year on the project and it was a very interesting format. Wishing you a happy new year !

Claire

I'm so excited to hear that you are pursuing your Victorian coffee shop idea! Totally agree that learning new skills is the most fun, and I can't wait to see what wonders you create if you learn wood working or other things : ) As for low-key content, I love your videos of finding something at a thrift shop and turning it into something else or repainting it. It's always fun to watch you painting, you are so talented! Thanks for being such a source of fun and comfort and inspiration for all of us. Happy new year :)

Purrabelle

I love the thrift/antique store videos. Any time I can follow along with someone that lives in a completely different state it’s cool to see how different your selection is. It doesn’t have to be a video where you purchase anything. Just “look at this cool thing, this is how I would style it”

Aloragrace

Speaking personally, more Frodo nonsense in 2025. Also, hello, kia ora, New Zealander here, very keen to see you in May! Will you be seeing and doing more tourist things outside the con?

Aimeé

I would love a bit of a Cosplay 101 video where you really break down the basics of wig installation and styling and makeup techniques. As I’m trying to get more into cosplay those are the things that intimidate me the most and you’re so good at it! Please share your wisdom, master. 🙏 😅

Whitney

Happy New Year! I’m excited for all of your new endeavors. Thank you for making such a special place for us. 🍾🎉

Rachel Bryant

For "easier" content I really enjoy watching craft vlogs! Something quiet and almost ASMR-esque that I can watch and craft along with whether it's embroidery, knitting, sewing, or drawing. I'm unsure if this is easier but think it may be something fun to try!

Brooke Rupp

Have you considered looking into renting your costumes? That way they aren't gathering dust but you can continue to make whatever the hell you feel like? I have no guidance or ideas on how to achieve this. Maybe there's a costume place somewhere near you? And then you still kind of own them.

Julie

I think some make up videos would be nice. Or baking videos were fun. Even some vlog style videos to fill in while you're making the raccoon. That is all o can think about now. The raccoon.

Julie

This is a great idea! Building shelves for the storage space would be a great way to learn and practice woodworking!

Valerie DeLeon

Cozy crafting or creative videos like coloring in coloring books, sketching ideas for future projects, video gaming like Tiny Glade.

Kekibird

Could be fun content, too, us learning how to do it with you. I like that kind of DIY content, as that's how I DIY 😂

Lynn Shepard

There is a learning curve, but it isn't too hard! I promise the experience is essential for handling rushes, even if you're just at the register or answering phones. Maybe you'll be able to get by without you both having to work the shop, but that usually only works if you're, like, super rich and can truly afford not to. It's also helpful for earning the respect of your employees if they know that you understand what they're going through! Trust I'm only saying all this because I very much want to see you succeed! Put yourself in the shoes of a barista who, after having been verbally abused by customers, finds themselves ten drinks behind and knows you're in the shop during a rush. Imagine how they will feel if you can hop in and steam some milk or check people out vs how they will feel if you have to sit on the sidelines or leave or hide. Don't be intimidated by this, though! You can absolutely handle it, and the learning process could make for some really good content!

Autumn Rose

Rachel, I'd be happy to see you do anything creative. If you are looking for creative business inspiration on Cherry Wallis' youtube she did a series of setting up her own magical shop everything from cabinet construction to painting and decorating.

Elise Day

Rachel Maksy

Taking time off is DEFINITELY something I struggle with 🤣❤

Rachel Maksy

I personally loved the video game live stream, I went back and watched it and I've been watching tiny glade videos on YouTube ever since please do more of them🙏🙏🙏🙏 Since u don't have multiple tears of membership, I really don't think you should worry so much about having super intense videos on here. I personally would love to see a behind the scenes video of what goes into making one of ur YouTube videos. Also have u ever thought about going down to one video a mth on YouTube? Lots of YouTubers who have as many followers as u only do a video a mth now. Seems like it would take off the stress and u can really concentrate on making something u want. Like with that ever after dress that was amazing, totally blewn away by that one

✨Sadie✨

All noted!! 🥰 I do love hair videos but I've kinda run out of ideas LOL

Rachel Maksy

whaaaat that's so cool!! I'll have to reach out to y'all!!

Rachel Maksy

Oo very true!! I'm always afraid people won't follow the project through if I break it up into multiple videos 😣😣 but maybe if it's just 2 separate videos that wouldn't be so bad

Rachel Maksy

It's such a struggle 🤣🤣

Rachel Maksy

Noted! 🥰🥰

Rachel Maksy

I definitely would love to do that and plan to for the woodworking adventure, hahaha. Maybe learning to crochet too?

Rachel Maksy

Ooo maybe!

Rachel Maksy

All super useful tips, thank you!!! I think Nick is going to be the barista side of things in the beginning! I'm rubbish at making coffee lolol

Rachel Maksy

Ooo that'd be fun! I do love organizing and when I get to make it a video, even better 🤣🤣

Rachel Maksy

I'm definitely doing less Maksoween looks this year! 🤣😋

Rachel Maksy

Noted!!! 🥰🥰

Rachel Maksy

Ooo noted!!

Rachel Maksy

I am realizing how blessed I am with cozy coffeeshops in the PNW. I so hope this dream becomes a reality for you! Always love your makeup looks, thrifting outfits, etc. it would be cool to have more "crafting basic" videos. Crafting can be overwhelming with all the items you need to buy or what works for what.

Savannah Thurman

So excited for some woodworking videos!

krista

2025 sounds like it is going to be another great year and I'm looking forward to anything you come up with. Woodworking!!! Super exciting!!! The costumes/dress up as 'x' videos are always fun but I have no idea how hard they are to make. And I think it would actually be cool to see you work on a big project over time. Like one video this month is you figuring out the legs for the raccoon costume and a video next month is the head or however you would break it down. Other costubers I watch (like Bernadette) have broken large projects into multiple videos and they're still interesting to watch, especially because it seems like each part is getting your full attention and accomplishes a piece of the whole thing. And please remember to keep being kind to yourself. You're doing great.

Victoria Fair

Hey just started the video but just wanted to offer, I'm totally down for videos where things aren't created at all! once a month cozy gaming? Frodo features ... Thrifting! Idk. I love Kathleen Illustrated casual content for example.

Martha

I live in Boston and would LOVE for someone to open a third space in MA like you're mentioning. My husband also works in content creation and restaurant/coffee shop development. I would kill for you two to team up!!

Emily M

I forgot to say MORE LITTLE GUYS

Heather McKay

For easier videos in the new year, I love all your dress up videos! Random aesthetics, trying to style what you already have to fit a theme—those are always fun and inspiring to me. I also love your home renovation projects, though I know those are often much more time consuming! Thank you for all the great content and positive creative vibes ❤️

Phoebe Montalvo

Not sure if these are actually "easy" but I always enjoyed the videos with outfits based on fictional characters using your current wardrobe, dressing like different decades etc, closet purges

Bri

Hey Rachel! So… hear me out… feel free to change things up for Maksoween 2025 - please don’t run yourself ragged. It’s your channel/content and it has to work for you! Perhaps one “big” Halloween/spooky project that takes a few months of planning/making, with a couple of behind the scenes glimpses on Patreon along the way and the big reveal on the main channel? Also in general your educational/topic videos, trying a new craft, travel vlogs, cosy baking, home reno and general tidy/ chatting videos are JUST AS INTERESTING as when you make stuff! Who are your favourite costume/set designers/craftspeople? Could you arrange to interview them?? Just thinking of other types of content besides making stuff. Keep it up and happy new year! 🧡

Heather McKay

I've handled everything from staffing, cost analysis, managing inventory, sourcing vendors, food safety regulations, to what technically makes a good cup of coffee / the dos and don'ts of pulling espresso. Feel free to DM if you want to chat through any questions. I will be supportive but upfront & honest about what to expect. I think one reason a lot of coffee shops fail is because people don't fully understand what they're getting themselves into when they decide to go into this business, and knowing what to expect is a great defense to avoid burning out!

Autumn Rose

I love literally everything you talked about, and I can't wait for the upcoming videos. Don't feel afraid to scale things down if you need to or to make something useful while at the same time making a video: maybe you can do the same thing you did with the apothecary cabinet (I don't know how to spell that... oh well) only upstairs in the barn - instead of just ordering basic storage, try to fix it to your style, that's definitely a video I'd watch.

Olivia Booy Falk

I managed MANY coffee shops and bookstores in my time and have some unsolicited advice! Maybe you already have this experience, I'm not sure. But just in case...if you have never worked as a barista, I highly, HIGHLY recommend getting a part-time job in a coffee shop before you open your own. And be sure to work through the holiday season. It will, number one, help you understand if this is something you want in theory vs in reality (as an owner, you will absolutely 100% need to be working the shop for at least the first few years), and two, understand how to be a better employer to your future employees.

Autumn Rose

I wonder if you could donate some of the costume stuff to a HS drama club or local theatre? Also, Happy New Year!!!!

Jessica Higginbotham

Another note: if you hate donating things, you could totally have a store where you sell things for $1/$5/$mystery and viewers would buy them. Just to have "a piece of Rachel." Especially things you've made! You could donate the money, use it for future projects, put it into the frog pond, whatever. You could feel less guilty about donating and, if you charged next to nothing, no guilt about people getting something you might feel is almost-trash...

Jessica H

One of my favorite things I used to like to watch you do, back in ye olden days, was learn a new craft/skill. The semi-fails, with much "What went well, what didn't go well," are most interesting. For instance, you recently mentioned the resin hooves being a thing you can't do, so you went with a thing you knew well, but didn't work at all. For an "easy" video, you can take us along as you learn a new skill, which serves the dual purpose of expanding your skills for future videos. Plus, definitely could bring in new viewers. --lol, posted this before you started talking about woodworking and documenting it. Could have just said, "yeah, that!"

Jessica H

Have a lovely new year. Think for easier videos any answering questions/organising or just doing day to day stuff would be good.

Amber Jones

I also struggle with having many things that I don't want to get rid of, but also hating having so much stuff. Also I think I speak for a lot of us when I say if you have away your costumes/did a charity giveaway I would be down! Happy new year!

Shannon Joy

I go back and watch the hair styling videos, maybe a few of those in the new year? Also, I love the idea of smaller decorative projects, like the book diorama, maybe upcycling a painting? I'd love to figure out how to make a functional lantern. Looking forward to the new year!

Kate Parker

Hy rachel. Your Plans for 2025 Sound great and I am total on Board with all of it! I feel like the projects that really bring you Joy as you make them are my Favourites, and I feel like These are those projects that really are usefull for you. Like renovation Stuff around the home. This doesnt need to be a whole room, but like those little laid back builds that make a home more cozy and custom. I rewatched your victorian lamp Video the other day, and it is an Idea I always like to revisit and keep im my Mind. Just making something you already have or want more appealing to you personally is always so much fun to watch. And those could be the tiniest Things, like rearanging a vanity/closet, hanging pots/drapes, making those little custom lightswitch Covers etc. Stuff that you would Do in your Coffeeshop anyways and that you are existed about. And it would be cool to See this done with something you can recycle to give your self more space. The Idea with learning woodworking etc. Is also very great! I have been in a recovery Programm for People with mental or physical illnesses who want to switch careers and I am working in a facility that has a Metal, wood and bike Workshop. We can choose Our own projects and get Help by a professional craftsman along the way. Working with big machines Was so inzimidating for me in the beginning but once you get good safety instructions it is really fun! And it so satifying to See your ideas become reality. I made my own custom Art nouveau Name Plate for my Front door out of brass, cutting, fileing and engraving everything myself. I also licked up woodcarving ond anothe projects and Plan to make my own small er furniture and upholster thrift finds. If my anxious Butt can Do it, you can too, and I know if you get your hands on this Stuff it will turn out amazing❤️. Good luck for 2025 Rachel

Pyromite

Your plans sound wonderful and I'm totally fine with "simpler" content. You don't have to "deliver" big Projects to be entertaining. My wish for you would be that you regularly take some time off to go on vacation. It is so important and you could have for example the wonderful opportunity to explore New Zealand after the con for a week or so. So please don't feel bad taking time off. We all do it, so why shouldn't you? Best wishes to you and everyone here :)

Astoria

Oh, yeah! You just gave me flashbacks. I managed a pie restaurant in college and there was so much cleaning... and accounting. Endless accounting.

Cheri LaTorre

Went for my honeymoon! Loved it! We were sad we couldn't climb Tongariro as the weather was dreadful that day, but we went to Hobbiton, and Milford sound is breathtaking.

Eloise (San1984)

Honestly- i love watching everything you make / do. I’m here because i think you are wonderful, and do wonderful things! Just do what you love to do, and know that I love to see it 😇💛 Having said that, some video ideas to hopefully spark inspiration that I would love: cooking/baking, slow painting (Rachel Bob Ross-core!), day vlogs, home reno, small creature creation, and honestly- the cleaning videos are super satisfying too! You be kind to yourself as well! Happy new year

Aster_oid

I'd love to see you take up woodworking so you could eventually follow that dream of making whimsical spaces for others! Think that would be awesome 🤩 we need more whimsical stores and restaurants 🥳

Amathara

I would love to see a new house tour with the rooms you did over. And a lot of people (maybe new viewers) like those rating videos - rating your costumes, your little guys (skillwise because cuteness is allways 10/10) etc. And ohmygodyes videogame livestreams!!

Klara

Maybe go back to your outfit roots and do a random outfit style generator, like a movie character but in a different theme, like 1800s Marty McFly or something. Also relaxing painting videos!

HoneyAndBlueberries

I would freaking love seeing you doing whimsical home renovation projects! Can't wait for 2025 :)

Rebecca R

Hey Rachel, how about painting videos? Maybe with slowing down and talking about your process with things. I.e how you mix colors, how you decide what to focus on. Also, what you look for when designing costumes or outfits- more “break down” style videos. I also miss your themed outfit videos. Your make up transformation videos are great! And I think they should be easy to do for “quicker videos” The theme decor videos are great! Maybe also, talk about how you go about planning for them. That could help, like do a planning video- then a working video- then a wrap up? Also!!! More little guys!!!! Love seeing the felting and the thrift flips of the knick knacks. Those are my ideas :) have a great 2025! I’ll see you in the new year!

Samantha E.

10:11 Respectfully....OMG FEMME!STEDE I NEEEED IT!

Seymore Sinn

The Sexy Gandalf video is still one of my favourite, "when I need cheering up" videos so could make up transformations be for non-making weeks?!

Rachel Aries

I wouldn't mind seeing some easy video compilations, counting down your top five/ten projects of the year, favorite but, make it vintage outfits, top home improvements, makeup looks etc.

Andie C

Absolutely agree! Not every video needs to be a "done" project. I've seen some creators do something small, like a Q&A, and then an update on whatever the larger project is.

Andie C

I think if you needed to buy yourself time, I really enjoyed watching you try new recipes but if that is too much, honestly maybe you could break projects into parts? Ive been watching Adam Savage working on his raptor and I love seeing the progress. Just a thought! Love everything you do either way tho 😄

Apollo Armstrong

You know, since you're a curious rustic now, you ought to just get a burn barrel. Country living people just love setting shit on fire! Just stick it behind your shed where the County Sheriff or the DNR can't see it from the road.

Andy Pucko

Glad you got the Dad joke in at the very end!

Leigh

Yay, no one comes to NZ!! I hope you like it here! Would definitely be curious to know how many other Kiwi's are here, or are fans in general.

Jordan Rika

One of your older video formats I used to enjoy a lot was your creating themed outfits from your closet - could be an 'easy' video to do at some point if inspiration strikes!

Kristina [Lady Greensleeves33]

If you are looking for simple carpentry builds that you can customize with decor/paint/etc. Ana White has some great ones! I made an open shelving unit as a total beginner and it turned out amazing! It also only took me about 4 days of work. Someone else commented on wood burning art. You could wood burn some elven-style art into your project (maybe as an additional part). As for what I love to watch, I loved your videos where you styled items you already had. I’m just a fan of getting glimpses of your wardrobe.

Amelia Farrugia

Rachel, you should look into The Lost Cauldron videos on Youtube. Might help you guys get your coffee shop started???

Alison London-Pusser

This would be so cool! Maybe Rachel could make a prop to use in her hobbit photoshoot? Like some kind of elven design?

Amelia Farrugia

Rachel Maksy's House of Whimsy, for all your greige rehabilitation home needs!

Micah

Truly, we love anything you come up with! I love this type of chatty/organizing video, lil guy builds, small thrift flips for the house, trying a new medium, etc. 🖤

Excellent Boiled Potato of Kaer Morhen

I'm excited to see what comes in 2025 for you. The videos I like to rewatch are the hair/makeup videos and vlogs. I would just say, do what you find fun and engaging. That comes through in the vids.

Ashley Shelden

I used to manage a coffee shop and it’s a lot of hiring, inventory and pricing margin management (drinks should cost about 15% of what you charge, food 30-50% depending on waste margins), and scheduling so that you aren’t burning too much on wages. And so much cleaning.

Ashlea H

How about you have a "costume store" beside the coffee shop !?

Margaret MacLellan

I feel like I've seen the suggestion floated somewhere - you have two little critters that could be part of a DnD party (mouse and raccoon), perhaps more little friends to do more of the party, but with different small handicraft skills?

Hannah K

Ahh so excited you’re coming to Nashville!!! ♥️♥️

Jasmin

I was binging your back catalogue of videos when I noticed the email. Pausing for fresh, exciting content. All the best in 2025 to you, Nick, Binx & Frodo.

Kim Ladouceur

I love that you get to go to New Zealand! Watching you make a real Hobit costume will be amazing! Especially for those of us who have been with you since the way back old day's. Because 2025 is the year of quality ( I haven't to think you are top notch FYI) but, get the rush to finish can make it feel less than. Make it a 2 part episode. You could do that for a couple thing's this up coming year. Even with a little talk or easy video so it takes up 5 weeks if necessary??? Heaven knows the majority of us will be there for it. It ,ight even be a great way tograb new people. If you are creating something really awesome- be it for decorating or costumes- a great one where you are showing some of your tricks of the trade ... How to find and use some of the thing's you use. Well that's my 10 cents worth of ideas/ want to see ideas. Have an amazing New Year celebration everyone!!! Be happy, Audri

Audri Scarborough

Such a good book!

Melissa

Idk how easy any of it might be, but have you ever considered working with local schools/universities to do prop or set work? Additionally have you given any thought to taking some costuming commissions? ❤️

Leanne O

I think the most important thing for you to remember is that we watch your videos because we like to hang out with you. You could put anything up and we all would watch because you are a fun hang!

Brianna Catton

loved the video! lately i have been watching @emilyrayna on insta do woodburning art for her kitchen island and thought of you, i don't know if it is something you have ever been interested in learning but when you were talking about the furniture you would like in your cafe in the future my brain flashed back to Emily's beautiful counters lol also i was in love with your recent reel of thrift flipping the little owl figure and would love to see more of that in the future if that count as a little video idea :)

Marnie townes

What about a collab where you challenge each other to come up with a photo shoot where you use a costume you both already have? To reuse all of you awesome creations. Maybe it could be completely incongruous but maybe two worlds you want to see collide.

Brianna Catton

Some easier content ideas: painting hardcover book covers (lots of blank ones at the secondhand shops), a day out wearing something you've made already (can include the grwm), showing your pinterest boards for the coffee shop you want to have one day, rating your old makes/what you'd be able to do differently now with your improved skills, etc etc :) also take a month if you want to take a month! no rush no pressure

SB

Would be interested in seeing bigger projects as part as a video series ! Would allow you more time to work on things and keep consistent uploads. Happy New Year ❤️

Molly O

Wow New Zealand! That is great! How about auctioning off some costumes and items. Give the money to a charity. Ask others to creators to join you. I always like watching you make cute characters. (Baby Yoda, the dragon puppet, etc) please make more fuzzy friends. Another thought was making a costume based on taking fairy tale characters and zombifying them. (Maybe?) Whatever you do is fine. I hope my rambling inspires. Happy New Years and safe travels .

Monica Garrison

The channel @destrucshann is run by a coffee shop owner in Georgia that you can possibly pick her brain. Take your time on making content when it comes to your guys' dream coffee house. There's a coffeeshop in Jim Thorpe, PA that's wizard themed (yes based on that world) and it's stunning if you ever find yourself near there. I hope you can find your hobbit feet for that costume. If you make projects to last and will be used, it will motivate me to sew more.

alessandra

Hey, while you're learning woodworking etc. have you thought about creating props for independent films? They're always in need of good people. Alternately, any chance you're coming out for Sundance or San Diego Comic Con?

Cheri LaTorre

Eeee I'm from New Zealand and have never been game enough to go to armageddon. I think this year will have to be the year!

Bethany Thomson

Also, in terms of struggling with donating/selling/passing on costumes and clothes... would you ever consider patreon giveaways or a patreon meetup & clothing swap?

Scorpio Amber

If you're interested in connecting with a themed coffee shop (and potentially doing a collab with an established business), you should check out Burnt Umber in Orange County, California. It's a gothic coffee shop. Before they ran Burnt Umber, the creators ran Petals and Poison, a gothic brand that has worked with influencers in the past. Definitely great inspiration and maybe a cool connection as you explore starting your own coffee shop!

Jenna S.

Are you going to have a booth at Nashville for meets and chats?

Katherine Powell

In terms of simpler/easier videos, little thrifted item flips like the statuates you did recently would be cool. I also have no idea if they are actually easy but I enjoy the videos where you make a variety of outfits from things you already own based on prompts.

Scorpio Amber

Charlie over at The Stitchery on YouTube just talked about getting a month ahead in her most recent video. It sounds hard, but she appreciated having the buffer time. You mentioned upcycling which reminded me I have two "Generation T" books I've been trying to rehome. I'm happy to send them to you if you're interested. Between the two books there's over 200 ways to upcycle t-shirts. Also - are there any community theaters in your area who could take the costumes you aren't keeping? ♥️

Carole Alt

I would personally love to see you take on bigger projects and make multiple videos about them! Then you could break something down into stages and take a week for each stage. You don’t have to finish something in every video for me to be excited to watch!

Hannah Land

I was going to say something similar. Maybe also a photo backdrop area at local events.

Sabrné

Ditto this! I was thinking maybe looking to see if there's a community theater or somewhere that you could make projects for?

Char

Also, you should check out DIYDanie on YouTube if you don’t already know of her. Lots of woodworking/painting/diy and really whimsical stuff!

Britta Voight

One idea for costumes you don’t intend to wear again but don’t want to throw away, make a rag rug! That’s what I’m doing with scrap fabric and costumes that need to be retired. Your description of themed events/rooms reminds me of set building!

Britta Voight

You should see if your local community college has woodworking classes. I took one as an evening class and I learned a lot while doing it. It was really nice to have a teacher right there to ask questions, plus you end up getting help from the people in the class as well.

Breahna Lesemann

Vintage actresses like Liz Taylor, Audrey hepburn style looks are simple but always fun! Cozy painting videos, home decor vids... it can be Rachel cleaning a barn and we'll watch tho soooooo 😂

Brianna Kobylka

Commenting early and with absolutely zero understanding of the difficulty level of what I’m suggesting BUT! I think a series where you’re improving existing makes you aren’t super happy with would be interesting and easy (maybe?). My thought is that if you don’t have the bulk of the project to do, you could knock out a couple of upgrades relatively quickly, then do a comparison and talk about why the upgrade means you’d be happier to wear it/give it away.

Kacey

Just bought tickets for March 1 for the wife and I. I’m a DIY loving girlie but I have never been to a con! So excited

Erin & Rachel H

This is exactly what I was going to say.

Jessica Turnley

Multiple-video projects! I know the allure of keeping it short and snappy in one video, lol, but would truly love to see what you can do with more time on a single project! And maybe that could help making sure you're not working every day of every week 😂❤️❤️❤️

Mia Arsenault

Thank you for sharing your positivity and kindness. I love watching your realistic and talk videos, as well as organising videos. More easy diy’s would be great, and love the knock off idea as well :)

Library of Kate

This is exactly the video I needed to help me clean!!

StubbyKitten52

friend rachel, thank you for the reminder to be nice to ourselves - something i forget no matter how much i accomplish or how sick i feel when driving myself - duh. my folks raised me smarter than this so the finger doth point due society 👈🏻🧭 okay, i’m off to rest and read for no reason other than it pleases my ♥️ and 🧠 see you all next year! 🎊

Kimberliulfr

Would making multi-part videos help? I would happily wait for parts 2-3-4-♾️ if it meant you felt less pressure and could do more epic schhhhtuff. Then again you do still need to make time for editing.

Holly Adams

(also you should read legends and lattes)

Morgan Bloom

Have you considered set decorating/party decorating instead of home renos? The things you make would be perfect for that. They don't need to be up to any kind of code.

Morgan Bloom

An idea for what to do with your "stuff" when your done with it is to see if a local school theater could use any of the items, materials. They are always looking for stuff that they can re-use, modify for future productions. Nice thing is that it doesn't have to be in pristine condition.

Carrie Rasmussen

I love your chatty videos, you could do a monthly chat and clean and it would be delightful to watch. You give off the best cozy vibes, your approach to sewing is what gave me the confidence to buy my first sewing machine! and just go for it and figure it out along the way :)

Coco

That's how I've been giving away old cosplays I made but never wear anymore

OdinsSage

First of all, I love all your videos. Your magical Maksy-ness is basically what I come for every time. If I could make any suggestions, your makeovers and closet cosplays bring me joy. Maybe another hairstyles by decade? I would also love seeing you draw up ideas of room decorations like if someone wanted their living room to be Lothlorien or turning their bathroom into Naboo. Whatever you have in store for 2025, I'm here for it!

Maggie M.

A lot of conventions have swap meetups where people can bring in their old cosplays, cosplay materials, cosplay supplies like wigs, etc, and can swap them or give them away to other cosplayers who want or can use those items. Many of the items you believe aren't quality enough or are too niche to sell could be swapped or given away at one of those meets.

OdinsSage

Some of my favourite videos to go back to are your closet purges and organizing videos.

OdinsSage

If you want to spend time on bigger projects, you can always break them into sections across different videos like your library dress? That way you can make it into a series? We are happy to watch anything you put out into the ether 🫶🏻

Laura Chisnall (she, her)

As a project manager and event planner, I can highly recommend Monday.com as a way to schedule your projects so that you can determine what you can work on and when you publish and what you can plan for multiple weeks. It's a great tool for managing complex scheduling but in a simple way. Also, ideas for future videos might include something for Frodo or Binx. Would love to see more collab videos and guests on your channel....love seeing you interact with others and the creative energy you get off each other.

Carrie Rasmussen

I also am trying to be way more intentional about stuff I acquire for my creative endeavors and only getting things as I need them and not getting all the pretty things even though they are really pretty.

Caitlin Hughes

I'm not in New Zealand but in Australia! Would you make a quick trip across to us while you're down here?

Justina Baumann

You will love NZ!!

Liz

Also wanted to say that I never touched a sewing machine until I started watching your earlier project videos forever ago. I love that you're willing to just be real and show you learning new things. It's encouraged me to learn a lot more myself and I've had a lot of fun doing it. Also wish I could see you in Nashville since it's only a couple hours from me butttt I used to drive Uber in Nashville and lived just outside there and being there honestly just scares me now 😂😂

Dottie Elizabeth Vanderbilt

I don’t know if it’s easier, but I really enjoy the videos of you reading from books dramatically. I still crack up during the one where you read from your old diary!

Samantha K

Rachel, you could learn how to make cabinets for your barn upstairs storage! Or learn to creatively decorate IKEA shelving with doors you make or something like that

Lynn Shepard

This is what my room looks like after making home made sewing projects for my whole family for Christmas 😭 I still haven't come up with a plan to tackle it. Lmao (most of it involved sherpa, there's so much white fluff everywhere)

Dottie Elizabeth Vanderbilt
