2024-05-09 11:49:06 +0000 UTCNo they don't seem to need immediate moisture to flower. The plants in this video did not receive moisture for the last 2 months. The benefit of being a stem succulent is that once you reach adequate size you have enough water stock to be able to flower at the drive times of year when few other things are, which means you will have a monopoly on the pollinators

2024-04-28 16:43:29 +0000 UTCI wonder if the ants participate in pollination. I've also been curious about seed dispersion and germination of cacti. When you start cacti seeds at home you need high humidity for an extended period of time. It doesn't look like their environment is going to provide that. I really wonder what percentage of seeds actually germinate and become plants. Thanks for sharing this footage.
