Need Feedback on This Video

Your feedback appreciated on this vid, as I tried two new cameras on this one as I've been desperate to get better picture lately while also not using something that's too bulky - the first is an iphone 14, which has shitty resolution in close-ups. The second is a Sony camcorder which has a shitty mic. Please let me know what you think and how they compare to the camera I've previously used.

That said, the habitat here is some of my favorite in the world, and also some of the most disrespected and threatened habitat in the US. This entire area is being impacted by sprawl. It is only a matter of time before land is gobbled up everywhere around this parcel. The property owner has said he will not sell and wants to keep it preserved, but the more people there are around the more it is certain that the labs will be impacted and poaching will occur.

Astrophytum asterias is such a cool species of cactus and I hope this population continues thriving here for decades to come.

GREAT video!! Clear pictures & running descriptions. Love that you show the names of things (i try to guess spellings when looking things up from the podcasts, but it’s hard). Also really appreciate the inset pictures of blooms, and the Astro vs peyote root. Thank you Joey - this is terrific

Turns out you just hit a square icon on the phone video screen (shaped like a TV) and gives you the option to share with your smart TV,

The second half (Sony) is clearer and the mic doesn't bother me at all.

Robert Patterson

Yeah iphone 14 sucks

Thanks again Joey, long time big fan I have enjoyed every video, that said making videos in the real world has many challenges brightness, contrast, wind, shadows etc.. you do an awesome job but the audio was shotty in first half... Keep on ranting

Colette Haskell

Thanks, good tip. I'll give that a go

Castilla Erecta? Nice Pinus!

April Hughes

Few blurry shots, but macros with the low-sun looked crisp. The spines stuck in your finger hurt in 2k.

I found the wind noise quite annoying in the first half, and seemed that there was less video stabilisation. The second half was better. Felt as though you'd got out of the wind but I suspect just a better mic setup.

patreon just embeds youtube, so if you can click the thumbnail to start the video in patreon hopefully you can right click and copy the URL, then paste that into youtube? I do that but on a desktop computer, I don't have a TV

Macro shots seemed REALLY clear on the Sony camcorder, even a bit more so than previous vids. The mic is ass, yeah, but I think it adds a dystopian flair to your rants about ecological ignorance if it sounds like you're talking through a prison phone. I would imagine getting frustrated with the iPhone for close-ups, but the sound quality was better and the general resolution seemed comparable to previous vids.

I watched in 1080p and it looked pretty good for the most part though there were a few fuzzy moments. Not sure how it compares to camera work from previous videos but the vid was still very enjoyable. Didn't notice anything off with the audio. I came to your channel for the botany but stayed for the rants for what it's worth.

Looks great to me, seems the same sort of quality to the usual vids. Although I usually watch your vids on my TV on YouTube, not sure how to view patreon on my TV as I can't hook my phone up to it (I'm not tech savvy.... At all). Thumbs up

First the image appear unfocused, second later is focused, and then we can see, isn t perfect but isn t terrible...thank you for puting the pictures of the flowers..., can you put also the picture of the seeds of the "Astrophytum", "Peyote"?...can you make a video with the "Astrophytum" blooming in that habitat...just asking...

Ana Rita

Yeah, the video got a little fuzzy at some spots but wasn't too bad, I kind of think the camera you had is a little better picture wise than this phone
