Not a story Jivi would share with anyone but Matty. Mostly 'cause he trusts Matty to keep it to himself and not go rattling it off to Sette or Duane. It's Jivi's problem, and Jivi will deal with it...

...or keep running away. And I'm not sure I'd be in a rush to run back home to mom after she said something like that to me either. I'd want nothing more than to never see her again and prove I don't need her at all.

Jivi didn't get much backstory in the first book, we kind of skated around it, and he was never super forthcoming with info. I think we're gonna learn more about him whether he likes it or not.

It's a bad omen and generally regarded as slightly evil to be born at sea, so it's not something you ever advertise. There's a superstition that the khert can't reach the baby to put in a soul, so a stormbringer slips in there instead. Sette rejects this outright; Jivi isn't nearly interesting enough to be a secret senet beast.

I really like the design of this Crescian guestroom. It's stupid with pymary, and creative, and ornately appointed; but at the same time not very warm or comforting. Their captors are obviously looking out for their well-being and even bringing Jivi whatever he wants! But it's still not a very cozy room for two kids to be living in. Fish aside.

Anyway, Sette upset. And since she came in through the window, this probably isn't where she's supposed to be.

We saw Gefendur grave markers at the very end of Unsounded, when Quigley was laid to rest. These do look similar to those... but you can see the spars folded up on them. Definitely masts, even if their designer was going for something spooky. Maybe don't get handsy with 'em, sailor.

New Main Page Art!

As threatened, I redid that preview poster from the end of last book and this is the new site splash art. On the index page Mikaila's hands are animated and lightning's flashing behind Regina spookily. I should have it ready for you guys to see next weekend! It's all pretty much finished other than writing some copy but converting it into a tumblr template can be a fiddly process. No more scrolling tiny div windows though, everything's much more spacious now, with the Book 1 pages left archiv...

Prologue Preview Panels

25 page prologue finished as of this week! This will be posted all in one go in January. When I first started Unsounded, I posted the entire first chapter at once, and I've always felt that helped pull people right into the story. But here, have a few panels to chew on until then. Naughty Collection #2 and a book update

Slimmer pickin's this week, had a lot on my plate, but good news:

I somehow wound up with food poisoning on Tuesday and wasted much of the day throwing up but EVEN BETTER THAN THAT: The publisher got me both print books put together to review and outside of a few tweaks and new assets I need to assemble for them, they are good to go (in fact they look amazing).
