Thank you

Thank you to all who have contributed so far. It means a lot to me and I greatly appreciate it, and I promise not to blow your hard-earned money on video poker, cocaine, frivolous and unnecessarily-loud motor vehicles, or firearms, as would be very nouveau riche and American of me. As it stands, I'm sober and guns bore me. Video poker, on the other hand, is one of the only soothing things in my life aside from the swift and repetitive kicks to the groin offered by The Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't legal team. Just kidding. I wanted to see if you were paying attention. I've got some trips planned in the coming weeks, focusing mainly around biogeography and notable evolutionary lineages of North America, with an emphasis on geologic setting as usual. The Sky Islands ( so called because they're literally high altitude "Islands" in a sea of lowland desert, basically an extension of of the Great Basin, with much of the volcanism and pre-Mesozoic limestone) of the Sonoran Desert seem very appealing this time of year. If you have a region, or especially a genus of plant or a mountain range that you would like me to do a video on please let me know. my only goal and doing any of this shit is to spread awareness of the geology and floristics of this planet to those who would like to see them. Thank you and go fuck yourself 😁.

Thank you

You and Al need to talk to Safelight. I thought that was you for a second in the ad. Keep being amazing—yer pal Fuzzie https://youtu.be/UnhgLrbSKrY

Harquahala mountains wilderness area. Includes taco delivery if you give me a heads up 😊

I would love to see you go out to the Blue Ridge or Smoky Mountains in the Spring. I would love to see ME go out to the Blue Ridge or Smoky Mountains in the Spring!

Being fair, I would rather be kicked in the groin for hours on end than play video poker.

Can’t believe your in Western Australia. Be awesome to go on a bush walk with you.

Amazing work - your passion for botany is amazing and your videos so educational. Do you have a business email that I can reach you at?

I stumbled onto your stuff yesterday. My mom asked me today if I wanted anything for my birthday and I said all I want is field guides to the Southeastern US (I'm in the Georgia piedmont). Shit yeah, dude. Thanks for what you do.

Have a few burritos on me and keep up the good work. Thanks for your videos, you've inspired me to learn more about botany.

Thank you for your channel! I'm currently learning about my local chapperal habitat here in lovely SoCal where we burn McMansions to keep our plant life strong. It would be super helpful for us botanical newbies if your could use some of your copious free time to organize your videos into playlists of various habitats or biomes or something like that. I'm sure I'll be bitten by a rattlesnake before you get around to it, but it would make the channel easier to study if you did.

Cindy Ballreich

Thank you for all you do! Your channel has been a joy to follow and I love learning more about the geologic history behind every plant community. I'm a plant ecologist from the great state of New Jersey and would love it if you swung through the Pine Barrens some time! Lots of neat species to check out in the hyper-acidic swamps among the Chamaecyparis thyoides and carpets of sphagnum.

Joe Steinfeld

No, thank you!! Your videos are inspiring and educational. I went for a walk in the mountains with my mom yesterday and explained to her what an inferior ovary is. Here, take a $5 burrito on me. You've earned it.

You're fuckin awesome.

Great videos on YouTube. Anytime you would like to shed light on Mahonias aquifolium, please do.

Huge fan of your work. Should you ever have the inclination to yo should visit the canary islands. Especially for the asteraceae!

I would fuckin love a video about the plants that grow around the valleys of northwestern Colorado. Especially the area around the twin tunnels, Silver Plume and Empire for example. Shit is weird there, I don't know how the cacti survive.

I'd love to see you do a video about the beautiful Gary Oak trees in the pacific northwest. They are fascinating, and create habitats for over a hundred other species of moss and fungus and insects! Truly a magnificent plant, and it was even important as a staple crop for native populations, it created a habitat for the camas bulbs that they ate! Damn I love gary oaks, and would love to hear what you have to say about them.

Bryce Balden

Love your videos so much. Thanks big guy.

FYI the Huntington doesn't accept reciprocal arboretum admission. I'm here now for a "free" nursery tour and had to pay $25 for the privilege

Just do your own thing wherever it leads ya man...

Good god, I just ordered botany books on amazon.

Love your videos and the content you produce on Instagram. I’m just an Asclepias geek and love it whenever you feature this genus in your videos. Catch you later Joey!

Thanks for making cool stuff and putting it on the internet! As a result of watching your videos, when i go out for hikes and for walks around the neighborhood, I take more time to notice the flora around me. I hope you can get a chance to go out to various area's in New Mexico. There are lots of neat spots in the Jemez and Sandia's that you might enjoy.

Hey! I was born and raised on Cape Cod (a poor kid who’s parents rented a little place between a couple McMansions) and it’s an amazing little bio diverse paradise. From the coffee bean snails in the marshes, to the horseshoe crabs, to the tidal flats. If you’ve never been, it is one of the most beautiful and diverse places in the world! (But go in September, it’s still pretty and all the tourists are gone)

Thank you for your videos. They speak to my soul and help me stay connected with both nature and my friends. We have bonded over identifying plants because of your channel and that is priceless. I share Joe and Lauren's anxiety about the environment and you speak to those fears; it feels like at least someone is out there giving a fuck about the plants. On the bad side, you've stiffened my resolve against any and all fart wagons destroying the serenity of nature and the mycelium under the duff. One of these days, some dope is probably gonna shoot me over it, but it's fine because at least I didn't die getting crushed when I spilled off a burm. You're a really cool guy, your videos and podcasts motivate me about the things I love most. I get excited every time I get a notification about something you posted. If you're ever in the northeast looking for a couch to crash on, hit me up.

Roughneck Basidiomycota

Monadnock communities in Georgia (specifically Panola/Arabian Mtn. State Park). You'd get the best view in the Spring after the depressions fill up.

I love your channel and it's very therapeutic for me. I have EXTREME anxiety because of what's happening to the environment. I grew up and live in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. My love for the natural environment came from trying to memorize all the plants in the park as a child. I live in a very "Red state" and trying to convince people that the environment matters is maddening. Thank you for all of your enthusiasm, sarcasm, and informative videos. If you ever come to Knoxville, I can suggest some great places to visit.
