Stygian City Alternate Levels: The Vault, the Trash Pit and the Underdark Passages
Added 2024-12-19 13:29:24 +0000 UTCI still owe you an underwater aboleth lair, but here are three of the four alternate levels I'm drawing for the Stygian City. I always intended to make a bottom level of the pit that was just full of rocks, debris and trash from the village above, but when I started drawing these, it occurred to me that they would all be like that. There's no way it's just perfectly tidy down there. So these are all just different degrees of nasty.
Out of these, I suspect the vault will get the most use, since a lot of people told me they wanted to have some kind of artifact or entity locked up at the bottom of the pit and that's what the vault is for. I made a few variants of it: one with an ark/sarcophagus, one with a pedestal, and an empty "Demon Jail" version. Hopefully one of those will get the job done for those of you who wanted it.
Next, I'll be drawing last month's Cartographic Congress winner, the Last Tower of the Magelords. This will be a large mage tower on a floating island in the sky. For those of you whose settings don't have a lot of aviation going on, I'll make a version on the ground as well. After that, I'll draw the aboleth lair for the Stygian City and get this project officially finished.
