I now want to believe that Obi-Wan kept that dude's hand from the bar in Mos Eisley in a box somewhere, and handed it down to Luke. Also, given how willing prior games were to feature the dismemberment of enemies (notably, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and I think maybe the two Force Unleashed games, if my memory serves), I'm willing to bet my characters in those games had entire cargo ships filled to the brim with assorted body parts.
