This might prove very useful...
Added 2024-10-08 14:26:07 +0000 UTCSo this is really intriguing. Runway will now take an existing video and transform it into another style. As an experiment I fed it a couple of clips of my Wheel in Space animatic with its flat grey characters and asked it to make it realistic. On the first test I gave it a telesnap for reference and for the second I just asked to look like 1960s TV.
The results, although not good, are really compelling. The lack of human movement is just because there was none in the input video. The way I see this being useful is that we could film a few people in simple costumes in a basic environment and use this tool to transform the movement into accurate costumes and sets.

That’s a really interesting question. I tried it with a clip of The Tenth Planet (without a tele snap for reference) and it was pretty hilarious. The Cybermen looked like [realistic] toys and the humans looked like Wallace and Gromit. It obviously wasn’t persuaded the shapes in the source material were meant to be real people. But I will try again with a telesnap and see if it helps.
