So now we must choose which of these songs is the superior endlessly-at-#1 tracks that mix cowboy music with rap, is it Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" or Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)"

2025-06-17 09:04:22 +0000 UTCMy thoughts on this matchup are far more nuanced than a measly patreon comment can contain, but the reductive gist is that Old Town Road has always felt to me like a joke that ended up with more of a social weight than it could handle, while A Bar Song washes any previous attempt at fusing country and hip hop by clearly being made out of equal adoration for both genres.
