Oh boy, the DEVO lore and Booji Boy. I don't think I'll get myself started on that 'cuz it'd be unnecessarily esoteric. But I will say that Booji was always a staple of their live encores, and here there's another Lynch connection: during their 1979 tour, one of the songs Booji Boy sang was "In Heaven" from Eraserhead.

In the 60s he had a script for a movie called After the Goldrush that Neil famously wrote the soundtrack album for, despite the movie never getting made. The title track (main theme?) is about th end of the world and humanity escaping in a rocket ship. "Riding mother nature's silver seed to a new hole in the sun" and all that. I have always assumed this was the sorta realization of that project
