And boy, did those ska bands like covers. So we have two ska covers songs to pit against each other today, which is the best, Save Ferris's "Come on Eileen" or Reel Big Fish's "Take on Me"?

Even Rx Bandits a bit later… maybe because “band” isn’t a thing in our schools — so a lot less horn players — so only a couple of aussie ska offerings…? also todd, Dance Hall Crashers is name checked in blink’s Josie as “DHC”. Our gateway song into pop punk made sure we also listened to unwritten law and dance hall crashers.

2023-07-10 05:39:29 +0000 UTCI went on a whole cover song hunt a while back, and honestly the Reel Big Fish cover that stuck in my brain was Brown Eyed Girl. Their Take On Me sounded like the original an inch to the left. Fine, but I'd rather be boppin to the original.
