NEW POLL! "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" vs. "Gangsta's Paradise"

As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I take a look at my life and realize that it's time for a new poll! So what is the best legendary '90s hip-hop track from a young G's perspective? Is it Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. Dre at the door with "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang" or is it "Gangsta's Paradise" by the late great Coolio? The way things are goin', I don't know!

One of these songs is a fundamental classic that elevated the entire hip hop genre to a new level. The other one took one of the songs of Stevie Wonder's best album and turned it into the title track for a fundamental classic that elevated the entire genre of white savior movies. Have we learned nothing from the Thong Song episode?

I’m sorry, Todd and Lina, for my only reason in voting for Coolio was Weird Al :( Please do not revoke my voting privileges

Todd once said in his Arrested Development Trainwreckord: "If people are forced to choose between Snoop Dogg and you, you lose, every single time." Assuming the current polling holds, this will be proven incorrect. I'm not sure if that counts as a strike against ol' Toddstradamus, but I find it amusing nonetheless. Anyway my vote goes to Gangsta's Paradise. Coolio's melincolic lyrics hit better right now then Snoop and Dre's effortless coolness

Now as a (somewhat) young white AF (so yes Weird Al helps a ton), Brit, who's still not super familiar with non-pop rap, watching the video and listening to G Thang purposefully for the first time rather than it just being on, I got the vibe immediately, and it is truly great. Also, seeing young!Snoop Dogg in his prime helps me appreciate elder!Snoop a lot more. I still voted for Gangsta's Paradise, because it's Song vs Song, and Paradise sounds impeccable, but it doesn't deserve to be dominating like it is

Look, I've been reading all these comments, and so many people are voting based on 'weird' al, and yet , as a fan of Amish Paradise, it's the main reason I can't vote for Gangsta's Paradise. I mean how can you take it seriously when all you can hear when listening is 'churning lots of butter'. It is a great song and I like Coolio a lot, but for me, G Thang gets my vote.

“Gangstas Paradise” can be sang to the tune of “The Wanderer” by Dion. “Nothin but a G Thang” can’t. “Gangstas Paradise” clearly wins this debate.
