Spirited Away Progress!
Added 2021-04-21 09:43:51 +0000 UTCYoo! I wanted to share the progress we got to in the last video with all you guys. This shot has been challenging but also fun! Still some way to go, but we are getting there. The character needs colour, which is something I have started to work on and I also want to add a bunch of drawn elements into the environment.
My first thought was to add in a bunch of other characters in the scene, like the original shot from the film has. But I think that is maybe over ambitious as this shot is only a fan art piece and its soul purpose is to be made to show some different animation techniques.
I am happy with how it is looking tho. However when you have a masterpiece as reference its always hard to be fully satisfied with your own replication haha.
For those who haven't seen the videos, the background corridor was modelled in C4D and all the painted textures on the wall I did in Photoshop and applied as textures.
For the Character I first animated a very basic 3D shape that represents him through the corridor and then used that as reference when finally drawing all my frames in Photoshop.
Excited to see it all finished with colour etc.
