Working on things

Hey friends!

I am currently working on some exciting ideas for upcoming videos. I was thinking of making a series of episodes on the overall process that goes into making animated films. I want to break them into Pre-production, production and post and so on. I would share my take on each step and specifically focus on the challenges and advantages that comes by being alone on my projects.

The fact that Austria is on a bit of a lockdown due to the Corona virus situation will limit me a little bit as I wanted to shoot some footage for this, but at the same time it forces me to stay at home meaning I have time to write some good info for it.

Hope this sounds exciting and let me know how you all are getting on with your own personal projects!

Oh thanks a lot! Its good to know that this slightly slower pace workflow is interesting too. While editing it I never know if things are too drawn out or not. As I have seen it while drawing it and then watched it a bunch of time in edit I always want to speed things up haha. But maybe I should let things play out a bit more. Nice to hear you are making progress! Excited to see what you make!

Really loved todays video! It was super interesting to watch, especially seeing in real time what is happening in photoshop itself, what tools you use etc. I am still super new to animating in photoshop so seeing things like how to insert a blank keyframe were great to just pick up while watching something more. Hope there is more to come like this and that you are staying safe in all this. I just finished a 3D Scene and am now all the more motivated to get started inserting the 2D character in photoshop.

Hi! Glad you have joined here! I think finding productive ways to keep us creative is very powerful. The 3D base - paint over method has for sure worked well for me. But I think its used a lot if concept art in general. It is great if you intend to paint over your render, however for a full on 3D pipeline its probably not the best way to do things.

Hey Olof! new here. This a great idea. Your methods have been the most productive I've ever seen for a solo animator. How you create the environments combining 2D and 3D, without the need for texturing and UVs in the 3D program is amazing. I hope you can explain more in real-time. Can't wait.
