There was a lot of pose refinement on this cover, which I don’t mind because thumb-nailing poses is one of my favorite parts and it forces me to get really creative with body language.
Here we were trying to find the perfect balance of the rivals to lovers, haughty prince vs rugged pirate dynamic— so each pose is varying concoction’s of each. Really fun to experiment with, and glad we kept the “stealing the captains hat” idea. 😉
