July

Early this month I finished the first of several mini-projects (the "falling block" game) for the introduction to gamedev series. This series will continue at some point with episodes on arrays, loops, and coroutines.

The main release this month was a new character creation series in Blender. The character has been modelled and rigged, and in future episodes will be animated, textured, and brought into Unity. Once completed, the character will then be used for the 3rd person controller series that has been in the works for a while.

There've been some complaints about the recent trend towards more beginner-oriented content on my channel. To address this, I'm going to be starting a series of one-off episodes covering a broad range of topics. This format should allow me to release content of an intermediate-advanced level on a more regular basis. The first of these will be a video on delegates and events, and the second will likely involve saving game data with JSON. Following this, I intend to cover various algorithms and data structures. Let me know what things you'd like to see in this direction.

I also have quite a backlog of requests to get through. Top of the list are: camera shake, version control, and extending the Unity editor.Apologies to those who have been waiting for more procgen and platformer content. These series are still active, but updates to them are going to be a bit scarce over the next few months.

Thank you all very much for another month of support.

Cheers!

Hi Sebastian! You are the best, just wanted to say thanks for making such great tutorials :)

Hi Sebastian Thanks for the update! I don't have a problem with more beginner-oriented content. When I was starting I felt like there was a big gap where you went straight into quite complex ideas and code, creating a big learning curve. Filling in those gaps should create a nice, steady journey for those starting from scratch, so thank you. I also look forward to seeing your and standalone videos (and the camera shake video(s) in particular). I'm more than happy to keep supporting you, keep up the great work, dude.
